Where did the weekend go?

It flew by~ Work.. garden.. birthday party..
and a bit of cooking..
6 week muffins..that we now always have on hand but with addded flaxseed and wheat bran and plumped raisins..I like them with my coffee and so does J..
I also made my daughter's Oatmeal cookies.. kinda like the CCSC cake..everyone has a recipe..I have..(many;))..but you know how good something tastes when someone else makes them for you?The taste just stuck to me..
You just have to make them yourself:)

Lots of raisins again:)

We have a stocked cookie dear neighbour decided to bake yesterday was cloudy and raining.. she brought us chocolate chip cookies.. so we are set here for a few days~~

My Daughter's Oatmeal Cookies

12 tbsps butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups oats
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp of salt
1 1/2 cups raisins

Cream butter and sugars..add the egg mixed with the vanilla..add remaining dry ingredients..Mix well.

I rolled mine into 1 inch balls and flattened
Baked at 375 for ap 12-15 mins..
The directions here are quite general.I wrore the recipe on a tiny piece of paper:)

Speaking of daughters.. another made 2 very delicious HD's this is from Mary:)Her Shrimp Blossoms.. disappeared dans le temps de le dire!

And the other is from Epicurious..I will make them soon and share. She added a twist to the original recipe and they became perfect HD's..instead of a tea sandwich:) You'll see!
Dinner there was divine as usual with Chef Frédérick serving Mussels and fish w/ a wonderful salsa and rice..
A delicious meal.. and our 3 little boys there:)

  1. We are on the same wave length. I just finished baking your Brownie Buttons again. My husband can't get enough of those now! I love Henrietta - she is perfect! I've been looking for an unglazed clay baker for a while now. Good find!

  2. Busy week here too with another one on the way!

The oatmeal cookie recipe sounds so good (is it C's?) and the muffins (I copied that recipe when you shared it).

I shouldn't come here so soon before dinner ;) My tummy's growling at me!

  3. Ry..I am so happy you like Dorie's buttons:)

I have a hard time imagining that something I make could be exciting to you:)You're my coffee table high gloss fabulous magazine..I am the clipped article from the free newspaper;)

    I know.. everything is relative:)

Susan..when you said:"With another one on the way"..I first thought..ANOTHER BABY:)!?

But then my French brain worked around the whole phrase and I saw.. week:)..
It's just that we will have 4 under the age of 4 by to us..anything is possible:)

And we have such similar lives apart from the fact that I don't golf:)..that I thought maybe.............

    Thanks girls!

  6. Hi Monique,
I've found a new blog to be addicted to, it's beautiful! Of course, I found you via sweet, sweet Fifi's blog and so pleased I did. Your weekend sounds wonderful and hope your week ahead is very sweet too! I will have to try the cookies, I'm not much of a baker, but think I can talk my husband into making them for me next weekend.

  7. It's so nice for me to have discovered your blog too ... Thanks for your visit. Come as often as you wish ... It's always a pleasure to have new readers, especially when they live far from here ... Et comme ton français est parfait, je terminerai en te disant que j'essaierai vite ces cookies ... ;o)
