It's that time of year again~

When comfort food starts to step in~

A little while ago..I made 2 Shepherd Pies..a big one for Oliver's family and a smaller one for us~

These are warm dinners I grew up..my husband..our girls and now their children~

They're plain little meals packed with flavor..
I have always made it the same way..Browned seasoned lean ground beef ..with onions.. topped with a mix of kernel and cream corn..then topped with creamy delicious mashed potatoes..

All baked together for ap . 1 hr and 15 mins at 350..depending on the size..

With the House Ketchup (My husband's mom's recipe:) )It's a treat~

  1. Du boeuf, des oignons, des amandes, il y a plein de délicatesse dans ce plat, comme toujours, je me remettrais bien à table avec mes gloutons autour de moi pour goûter ce plat

  7. If there is any comfort in cool, rainy, dreary weather it's comfort food! I do welcome the flavors of fall. Your Shepherd's Pie has been in my recipe file for a few years too...you're the reason I started ricing instead of mashing potatoes ;)

  8. I love the food we make in colder weather. Warm, comforting. Beef + onions + potatoes. What's better than that?

  9. Ah yes, comfort food indeed! If you look at any meat + potato dish in any culture, it is always categorised as "comfort food" :) I love anything you make, actually.

  11. I'm going to make this over the weekend if the weather stays cool. My grandma used to make this for us for week night treats and it was so comforting. Thank you for bringing back that memory, Monique.

  14. J'aime tellement le paté chinois. Des fois je le fais avec des lentilles au lieu du boeuf haché

  16. I bought my apples today for the candy apples:)

Donna.. when I have put the potatoes on top of the casserole..I do what my mom did..I run the tines of my fork through butter and then run the tines on top of the potatoes..It crisps the top..that's why they look crunchier on top..Like little mountains..I love Sol's way..with a piping bag and a huge tip..:) But I was pressed for time~

Hélène je suis certaine que c'est excellent et très unique avec des lentilles..Si bon pour la santé aussi.

Thank you! When I left today I thought.. Hmm...Quite ordinary..but ... I could eat another tonight:) Certainly not gastronomique or moléculaire or petites portions:) It's just "mom" food:).. To me.

    Bonne Soirée~♥
