I like to start early~ I always have~

I always have something..in the making in November..and even October for Christmas~
And who could not use a little angelic Christmas inspiration at the moment..a temporary shift in thoughts..
I fell in love with these plain  little white houses..that you cut out..that you stamp so you can see inside the house..and on the rooftop..
they are invitations..that pop open..and become 3 D after you give or send out flat.
I decided to add a small string at the top..so they could become Christmas ornaments that you can mail..
Anyone can make these..
..you just pull at the sides and it pops..

The initial inspiration..came from here..loveee....
and it linked to here..where you will find the pattern..

..the rest? Is up to you and your imagination~
Pre ~requisites..? Scissors..  the template that you print up.. glue..string..stamps:)Or not..
I love little white houses at Christmas..add sparkles..or sprinkles..secret messages or greetings..make with your chidren..or  a friend..or alone.
And just rest in the creativity of them and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Footnote..I have started reading Life From Scratch..on my sidebar you can see it..I can't put it down.
Many of you may like it also.

  6. They are wonderful, Monique! Cute - stinkin' cute :) I can imagine all of the possibilities when it comes to little boys ♥♥♥. I can just imagine their faces when they pop open. You do find such great ideas! I wish I could get my family to send their 'wish lists' earlier but I probably won't start shopping until after Thanksgiving. We did use those recent warmish days here to string all the outdoor lights so they are ready to turn on in December. So much more enjoyable when you're not freezing :)

    1. Love that stinkin' cute quote..I always do..:)
Only one gave me his list and it's really his mom that sends me the list after I ask:)

So it's done and ordered..stockings..up to me..the other 3..I have had no requests..I'll grill them..although Terry sent me a link to LOST OCEAN coloring book for guess who?I think it would be a great gift..
All I know is that their mom said no toys please..books..etc..clothes..games.but..no toys.
      I like that pinterest thing..about gifts..One they can wear..one they need..one to read..one they want..something like that..
I agree about outdoor lights and freezing fingers..
Last year we stuck to just the candles in the windows..and the potting shed done up.. will probably do the same this year..
I leave it to Fred to light up the street../lane:) I see their star from our windows:)

  8. So nice. I also like to begin my preparations early for special occasions. I think that is part of the reason that I always feel that time goes by to quickly - I look to the future and not the present.

  9. Morning Monique...
they are so special...I am certain anyone opening that up...would be thrilled!
I always like to be started early...but...then...there are other things that I like to do "under pressure"...hahaha!
Does that make any sense at all??
I will be getting my tree on December 1st...then enjoy for a whole month!
Picked up my wreath yesterday at Costco...such a good deal...and so long lasting!!
    Enjoy your day...
    Cheers!

    1. Yes I like the under pressure things too..there are less now..We keep ours up long too;)
When we had a real one..it smelled so nice..but it just made for aggravation..Hohoho..
I am always reminded of my mom..sitting in the LVR..w/ only the lights of her white tree..and a cigarette..
To meet her you would never believe that woman smoked.
      They were the days..

      Vivid memory still..

    2. Yes...my Mom smoked too...guess it was the thing!!
I still get a real tree...can't help myself...a lot more work...but...well, just my thing!
      I buy it...put it in the stand...bring it in...♥️

  10. I always plan on making my own Christmas cards but never do. Let me know when you are finished reading that book and if you still liked it. I am in love with the little Christmas houses (what do your call them?) Putz? I don't know if I'll get to decorate for Christmas this year. I just have to do Thanksgiving first. Maybe a candle in the window?

I just call them Little White Christmas Houses;) You could put a tiny battery operated tea ligh and it would become a Luminary:)
3 more chapters in and I still love this book..I'll tell you how I know..I read on a tablet most times..soI can check my mail etc right?
Never tempted when reading this book;)Telling sign..
I will tell you if I love it to the end.I rarely give 4 stars on Goodreads..if I do..it means something.

  17. Those are charming little houses! In spite of knowing I cannot even make a straight line with an xacto knife, even using a ruler, it's so tempting to try! Merci for a whimsical break in my day, dear Nana.

    1. I can't either ..but my $ store xacto w/ rubber grip..worked like a charm!
The whole house is doable w/ scissors..it's the window and door..xacto..:)

  19. Your little white houses are adorable, Monique. I used to do all sorts of projects like this, but since the move to Florida so much of life is outside, my craft days are dwindling. However, our garden club did have a craft day last week...we made ornaments out of starfish. Be such a cute idea for kids and grandkids.
