It's not a white Christmas yet~

Unusually grey and mild here..but it can happen in an instant..and between now and Christmas ..the time will surely fly by~

So Marie-Reine..the pastry girl..started her baking ..;)

last year I was smitten w/ Sprinkle Bakes pretty little stocking stuffers..with the cookie crumbles..but no molds were to be had in time here for Christmas..actually no molds seemed to be available here period.
My friend Linda came to the rescue..and bought two..one for her and one for me..and sent it to me while we visited Florida..along w/ the sprinkle candy melts:)
I am appreciative..I love this perfect little mold..and can imagine..other recipes in it..dark chocolate..milk chocolate..cranberries and ginger pressed in..
you will have lots of cookie crumbles left..they will be a nice topping to little verrine puddings and such for the Littles.
You can find all the how to's at the link of Sprinkle bakes..
I am doing the same thing this year..photos for gift tags..easy peasy!
Last year Christmas morning..I took photos of the girls and Littles etc..under the tree w/ a string of lights..
just right.:)
I love those woodies w/ trees..so many great ideas and pics of them on the net..
I have a tree decoration  that is one..and decided to glean this gift topper from this great blog..The Art Of Doing Stuff~
I bought the little trucks at the $ store..which by the way..isn't a dollar anymore..here ..but in FL? Everything was still a dollar..wonder why?
Had  the trees..and the ribbon....it's fun to decorate a few gifts specially..the stockings? The things in all the stockings I fill? Some the paper doesn't even meet:)Patchwork gifts;)
Our tree has no theme..it's 1974 till 2015.
Every single little thing I hang...♥
One of my daughters called this week..to say she had just put up her tree..she said out of all her decorations..her favorites were the ones I made.
I have to say..I thought that was really sweet..because..well sometimes..you like something but who knows what the recipient thinks?
I think I have said the above  at least twice before.Sorry;)I really do repeat myself..

We were w/out internet really for a few days..we have always had pretty problem free service..a glitch I guess..anyways on the phone they tried fixing it..sent a technician today..still a glitch..new gentleman on the phone..patience of a saint..wonderful personality..he figured it all out and we are back.I must say I got a lot done..w/ out the net the last 2 mornings.

Very happy to have everything back and to have had such professional service from our internet provider. The last 3 days I have felt a bit grizzly at times;)

So have fun looking at the links and I look forward to seeing all your holiday goings on~

  3. I can appreciate that your daughter would think just that! Of course the ones you made are the dearest. All you do is exquisite, and gifts made with one's hands are made with one's heart. Our tree has special handmade ornaments mixed in. One is simply a duck wish bone from the first Thanksgiving we celebrated as newlyweds. My MIL saved it, painted it gold and added some sequins. I suspect many look at it and wonder, why?. In my eyes it is as if it is solid gold. I love the sentiment of this little treasure. It's now 40 years old and has hung on our Christmas every year.
I'm ordering one of the candy molds. ;-)

  4. and so you're beautiful Christmas posts begin. Your tree is indeed beautiful. Love how you filled every nook and cranny. Indeed a yummy candy bar, how special the recipient will feel!! :) No snow here too but I believe we'll be getting some by mid December. I look at the weather forecast everyday. I want snow so bad, especially by Christmas. Have a great week!

  8. The theme I see is tradition infused with fresh new creativity each year! Your little car and tree ornaments are giving me a nice image as I'm working up this year's Christmas cards... It may not be a white Christmas yet, but it sure is a bright red one, judging from your photos! Here, the weather is mild (rain instead of snow and I wish for snow, boo hoo!) They say it is due to El Nino...

I would love to see a red pick up..vintage..with a tree or a wreath on the front painted by you..It would be exquisitely charming for Christmas..your style..
I remember the Christmas tree sale etc:)
So a friend on the beach from SC..had made a small palette of M Graham paints and gave it to me..there is honey in the paint..will try soon..have you?
Have a nice rest of the afternoon Rita..

  12. You just got home from Florida and the tree is up already? It is beautiful. My tree is a collection of ornaments from many years of collecting too, some have been passed on now to my daughters too. We won't be doing a tree this year because Christmas Eve will be at Beth and Chris's and then Christmas Day will be at our in laws. I'll do lots of greens and may do bowls of ornaments throughout the house. Made cookies today. Katherine wanted blueberry cookies so I googled and came found a recipe. I will bring them tomorrow to her and Frankie. The cookie season begins!

She has good taste..I made some blueberry chocolate cookies that were sinful:) I made them a few times and so did C:)I bet you will bring things to both celebrations..I know you:)

    2. My recipe for the blueberry cookies was not great even though Food 52 called them the best. We will see what Miss K thinks today. If you still have your recipe for those chocolate blueberry ones can you share? Actually my sugar cookies were a variation of my usual MS recipe but these were rolled to 1/8". They too did not agree with me. Ever have one of those days? I will definitely bring some things to the festivities.

The chocolate mold is wonderful and the white chocolate with sprinkles are perfect for it. What a lovely gift! I thought I saw that photo of C before. I love those cars too :) Your tree is lovely and I love the mix of old and new. I have some Hallmark ornaments from when the girls were little - some are selling for $$$ on eBay! I don't know if I can part with them. I don't miss the snow but I hope we have a White Christmas ♥
