Pause.. Paris~Garden Break..

A front bed by the road starting to bloom..Harrison Yellow Rose(Yellow Rose of Texas)..single peonies..standard Korean Lilac..Baptisias..Irises are almost done there, centaurea is done..allium done..tulips done.., still to come..roses and daisies..and clematis ..hydrangeas and Cobea to come..salvia..monkshood..David phlox..it's a large kidney shape..didn't get the middle and right side in:(The colors will pop soon.
That hedge you see across the road..right after is is the lane one of our  daughter's lives on:)

Let's have a tea pause

I have another post ready in the wings re Paris..but I want to just think about the gardens for a minute..
it took an afternoon to spit and polish them up..and the weather has been so bright ..I don't want to omit to value the gardens..they are here for such a short time..and if we had not been to Paris..they are what Iwould be talking about♥
By the end of my Paris posts..many pretties will have bloomed and left..
I am shamelessly showing off my new teas.
I love the tea from this company..I have mentioned them before..Teavivre..while away..one of our daughter's ..Caroline picked up the mail for us..
A lovely little brown box..with their pretty large pouch filled with those cute cute mini pouches..had arrived for me during my absence.
That afternoon I trimmed and primped..I made a pot of tea..green tea..Xin Yang Mao Jian Green Tea.. and put it in a tumbler..and brought it outside..a little treat in between gardens.
So sweet of that company to think about sending me some.
I am a tea lover.
Whie we were in Paris..a storefront featured packaged Eiffel Tower cookies..I have had the cutter for many years..a gift from a friend..
I decided to make some to give to the Littles when they leave Sat..after our Father's Day dinner here..to thank them for their treats to us..the drawings..the send off..and the welcome home..
I used this recipe..
and they're good..but I was looking for exactly Bonne Maman taste..I have made so many sablés..galettes..
I just keep trying for my absolute favorite one..I have come sooo close..just not there yet...this one..not quite sure  differentaited it from the taste I crave..
beautiful blog and great recipes she has:)

The Jack -in-the Pulpits are multiplying every year..I love the way they look and catch the light~
Simple Pleasures..

  3. It's such a wonderful time of year in the garden. I'm glad you're pausing to primp and enjoy :) I'm sitting at my computer watching two fawns frolic around their mother ♥ "Please don't eat my clematis" I'm telling them. I know I've said this before, but you are so lucky to have your daughter and family so close. I love trying new green teas too. So light and perfect for summertime, anytime. Jack is so handsome :)

  5. Your Paris trip will be at the front of your mind for a long time, after settling back home you will even remember somethings that happened and had somehow gone to back of your mind. Loved seeing your garden, all spruced up and trimmed. Your cookies might taste different to the French ones, for many reasons. ie different flour or shortening/butter. all these little details can make a big difference. I'm sure they tasted delicious.

  9. Your garden looks great! We have so many different animals visiting in ours, that like to tear everything up. A deer bedded in the middle of my perennial bed and mashed it to pieces. Anyway, there's nothing like gorgeous flowers outside in the summer time!

  11. Welcome Home! What a spectacular trip, Monique. I read your last post along with this one - I'm a little behind.
Your gardens are absolutely lovely. A cup of your special tea surrounded by all that beauty is such a special treat.
Living in a townhome, we have just a tiny courtyard, but it is filled with trees and bushes and pots of colorful plants and I find such joy in it as I know you do in yours.
