Monique, you continue to capture the essence of beauty in your photographs. It always gives my spirit a lift. I can see your dahlias are growing. So exciting. Have a lovely weekend!
It's my garden journal:) It's the only journal I keep now..this blog..and garden thoughts..Its fun to look back..and comapre..the bloom times..what weather does..This early rain did wonders.I am grateful Thank you.
Your knack for capturing just a MOMENT in time is uncanny---the perfect second in that busy bee's day is as recognizable and of as much import as any Ansel Adams mountain standing for all time. Her grace and charm and dedication to her sweet task is very like I imagine your own days---seeing---I mean really SEEING a moment, and having the gift to anticipate the between-breaths INSTANT-ness of the whole scene. And the art of capturing that Earth-shaking, timelessly NECESSARY activity which does, indeed Make The World Go Round---perfect and indelible on the page now, on the screen and shared and imprinted.
Our Son #2 has been a lifelong Bee-Keeper, with the knowledge and the touch and the tattoos of a thousand stings---his interest gave me a deep curiosity for all things aviary, and I love being privy to all the cosmic secrecy of the Bees. A heavy jar in the mail from Back Home is a frequent delight, set atop the water heater to keep its lovely color and liquid character for a hundred years, if necessary.
This has been a delightful visit with your garden's most important, most faithful denizen---headed out now to my own ordinary hostas and yew with the gardener to prepare for Our Girl's (First) Seventeenth Annual Strawberry Breakfast tomorrow at ten. Oatmeal and cupcakes and brownies, Oh. My. (And you'd laugh at my joyous raiding of DEALS Dollar Store for importantly silly and twee goodies to add to the decor and menu yesterday). Happy Weekend!!
I must amend my rushed comment above---I love birds AND bees---bees most, I think, and missed my mark of "apiary" for their calling. I plead BUSY---tomorrow is our Breakfast with the first real guests of the year, so small cakes and brownies and teacups and birthday decor have filled my mind for several days, and the scents of baking and frosting fill the house after this sprinkly day. Moire non,
Mellow Yellow! Love the busy bee captures! I tried to get one while working in the garden today. I never thought I'd say this, but we need rain now! It's been dry for days. I need to keep watering all my new additions because it's not coming from the sky.
Me too they are looking great..If I do say so myself. Not brave enough to divide lol I left them in clumps in cold room;) So Clumps deliver large.I need to expand my horizons.I only grow 2 types..Never enough;)Thank you!
Seeing this beauty -- it's all we ever need. And boy, I really need it today, so thank you. More than you know.
ReplyDeleteOh Jeanie..I hope you are ok? You are a spreader of joy.
