Peonies..and roses right now take centre stage..Feverfew also..with clematis starting to open on certain varieties..
It's raining as I type early Friday morning ..soon en route to see my physician..(Routine)..It is needed.
Early this Spring we had endless rain which sure made things do really well.
That Diablo Ninebark is HUGE and very floriferous this yr.The blooms are like spirea.. but peachy..
I want to suggest that cake/loaf.
It's from Erin..Cloudy Kitchen.
Five stars.
On the large loaf,no lemon drizzle, just on small ones albeit a few.
This time of year gets quite repetitive.
With gardens:)
My apologies but this is how I can look back and see what was happening from year to year:)
Have a really nice weekend.. I'll be picking more of these:)
PS Follow IT might be a better place to follow me..Mail Chimp has stopped my posts again;)
Your flowers are so beautiful Monique. Thank you so much for all that you share. This is a fitting journal for you to keep a record of things in the garden and then we get to share in it as well. From my black thumb to your very green thumb, have a beautiful weekend! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you:) LOL Mail Chimp has suspended my account too many posts..LOL I am only like this in late Spring Summer.Hi and thank you:)
DeleteFabulous pics. My garden is on steroids now. Things are changing daily. My spiderwart is bushy but does not invade. Peonies are done , hydrangeas are showing colour and water lilies are opening. A cool June on the west coast and everything in the garden is happy, including me. Je souhaite un bon dimanche . Angharad
ReplyDeleteI love when my gardens are on steroids. Thanks for sharing that analogy! Have a great week.Heat wave here..100F today...AP..
DeleteI noticed that I didn't get an e-mail notification---just your appearance on my dusty old sideboard at LAWN TEA cued me in. And WELL WORTH the WAIT, I must say, from that lively little Iris in her fluttery Merry Widow's Weeds, down the whole museum of all the colours of the Angels' paintboxes. The perfection of the peonies, and then the pantheon of names---NAMES I cannot recognize, but am delighted at the new knowledge---and I don't think I have actually SEEN a real live rhododendron, despite familiarity from books and catalogs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely Sunday BRUNCH of Colourful dainties, all against the marvelous GREENS of your garden---I cannot speak enough of your magic. Happy SUMMER!!
Thank you! t has been a very prolific garden yr so far..Heat arrives today ..very very hot for June..ap 100F This aft..My plants will droop and drop...
DeleteI came to look at your post earlier today but got lost in the Cloudy Kitchen wormhole - LOL. The pound cake looks so good! I can imagine it with served with whipped cream and berries. ♥ Beautiful garden shots!! That dark iris is gorgeous. All my iris are finished and so are all my peonies, the rain and heat has devasted them :(. Arabella is always one of the first to bloom. I love her so much I planted three back then. I like to keep track of my garden through my photos also but on my computer external hard drive. I save every photo in a folder for that year, then individual folders for each month so I can file them accordingly. So easy to see the differences in bloom times, etc. I take a lot of photos ♥ I'm so sorry about hear about Mail Chimp again! I did get your Follow It email, though.
ReplyDeleteWow..are you ever organized! Too late for me lol..I just go to old posts.I was so good in my first yrs..a real journal..layouts..tags of all the plants I bought..That ended:(Susan..I am not surprised that you are that organized in the gardens. Not one bit.And I am certain in many other areas of your life.Kudos:)Cloudy kitchen..everything works!Your additions to the cake are perfect..We just eat it like that.I am a morning berry person in my yogurt with nuts..Figs..stuff like that.Alternate morning? Bran muffin lol.Creatures of extreme habit..
DeleteWhat's with Mail Chimp? Someone said they had a similar issue with me. I told her to sign up again and she did but weird. Love each and every bloom and how your record your blooms and use the blog to journal it. They are dazzling -- oh, the fragrance of peonies! I'm on a baking break these days -- especially till it gets cooler!
ReplyDeleteIf I post too often they do not send out the post (campaign as they call it)..These days I have a lot to document..too much for my subscription.Scorcher days the next too with humidex it will be ..indoors..:) have a great week:)
DeleteThank you for sharing your blooms :-) Have a great week. Heat wave here too, and we had a tornado hit at 4 a.m. on Sunday that killed six year old twin girls a few miles from where we live. NY is not known for tornadoes :-(
ReplyDeleteOh no Debbie I had not heard of the tonado nor the twins..:(. Take care in this heat.
DeleteFeels like twins, garden love, lemons, memories to look back on, throw in a book and my life in whole. Stepping back a few months in my garden seeing all you have blooming now, pure joy.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way I can walk my humble gardens and not see you.The mystery boxes.. here there and everywhere an the gifts that keep on giving in the garden.
