Blackbird Cookies:)
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Just kidding really but I think I will call them that.
I had a Craving for a moist chewy chocolate chip cookie and found a recipe here..
I made a small change..I added not only semi sweet chocolate chips..but milk chocolate (my favorite) chips and peanut butter chips..
So that's why I named them differently~
They are big fat and moist.. 1/4 cup of batter in each cookie..
Mais une fois de temps en temps:)
I chilled my batter for 1/2 hr..as suggested in one of the reviews~and baked for 20 minutes..but keep an eye open;)
La Recette~
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon. Drop cookie dough 1/4 cup at a time onto the prepared cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 3 inches apart.
Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Ah, cravings,yes... I know how it feels when they hit you. Love the way you dress up the cookies with the black bird. I would be at a lost about how to photograph these cookies in an interesting manner...
ReplyDeleteMy cupboard is bare meaning now i have to go pick up some chocolate and peanut butter chips; they look so good.

ReplyDeleteHubby's favorite cookie; must try this new recipe - it certainly is popular. Love the Black Bird - clever idea.
ReplyDeleteBig, fat, and moist. Three of my favorite words when they are used to describe cookies.
ReplyDeleteHow funny - I have been craving the same thing. I was sitting there with the family last night thinking about a batch of fresh chocolate chip cookies (thinking I would only bake some and save the rest for dough! - Naughty of me!)
ReplyDeleteI could do with one of these right now...just love the photos, the bird...the stacking.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing..
Shel

Oh my, oh my! I haven't made chocolate chip cookies in it seems like forever. I love a chewy, chocolate chip cookie too, with lots of chocolate and toasted pecans. I will be happily corrupted :)
ReplyDeleteYour black bird is flying so nicely over your cookies. I love him and the song.
Oh my these look beautiful...reminds me of the Alton Brown chewy recipe...
ReplyDeleteYour pics make me want to go and make some right now and grab a big glass of milk!
Chocolate chip cookies are so wonderful. I love the idea of milk chocolate chips and peanut butter chips
ReplyDeleteloveee these cookies, I wanna reach my hands out and grab one :)
ReplyDeletethese chewy cookies look great! i must try them soon :)
ReplyDeleteI feel that admitting to an addiction is part of the cure... now that Whole Foods has stopped carrying my favorite chocolate truffles, I must get my fix elsewhere. I am always on the lookout for new ways to use chocolate and this looks like a great one... is chocolate addiction sooo horrible?? Well maybe to my waistline but it does make me feel happy. Great recipe, monique! Go blackbirds.
ReplyDeleteCan I tell you I have been craving CCC's for days now? I mean days....
ReplyDeleteI am
salivating, too much for my own good.
Monique. Those look fabulous! I love chewy choc chip cookies, not crispy ones. Love that you used 3 kinds of chips! Yayy! xxoo
ReplyDeleteI like crispy on the sides and chewy in the middle, so these look perfect. Think I'd stick with semi sweet though; I love the bitter chocolate flavor.
ReplyDeleteSomeone made a bar like this and added some almond paste in little chunks. I thought it was a super idea and am going to try it next time I make cc cookies!
This is how my husband likes his cookies - moist and chewy. You've got a real winner here Monique.

Monique! Just to answer your question about the olives in my potato salad. The ones I use com ein a little foil pack that you rip open, but you could use any green olive that has been pitted and then marinated with herbs and garlic. You could even marinate your own! Just pit your olives and add a splash of olive oil, your favourite herbs and a finely minced clove of garlic and leave them to marinate overnight. I think for this recipe thyme and oregano would work very well! Dried herbs would also work well as thet are sitting overnight. Use your own discretion!
ReplyDeleteoh yum yum the peanut butter chips got me where it hurts delish
ReplyDeleteOh your blackbird is SO cute... and your cookies look divine. I wouldn't be able to resist them!
ReplyDeleteYou are so CLEVER, Mme. Magical M! ((hugs))
Tu as raison, une fois de temps en temps ! ;o)))
ReplyDeleteBisous et bonne journée
Hélène
I have tried this recipe and loved the buttery soft and chewy results. I agree the quality of the chips make a big difference in the results. These look terrific!
