My daily pickings..and more..I have globe zucchinis..lol ..too many but not as many as regular:)
And if you forget small globe zucchinis?
Look:)
Like pumpkins.2 I have LOL..
With the blooms..make Gnocchi..
The idea came from ..
Here~
I made a different recipe adding the chopped blooms and froze..next time..her ricotta recipe and NO freezing:)
Suzie has a great blog..great IG account and is soon to have a recipe book out~
In the gardens..as you can see above the basil is still a knock out..this was last week..even bigger now.
The cherry tomatoes are so sweet to me..I made Diane Morissey's Panzanella..check it out on IG..
I have made pizzas and roasted and frozen whole..
I am a tomatoholic.
My fave food group..ITALIAN.
Annuals still doing well..Nicotina..4 O'clocks..baskets etc..
I have been baking..playing w/ fresh yeast..made a few things..Belgian Liège Waffles were on trial")
Our summer was so late in arriving it almost feels like we were cheated in some ways..however the summer we had was beautiful.
I am grateful to have gardens and a chicken although my sweet neighbour had to come tell me she was in her front yard..!!
Oy my neighbour lives on an acre..we're on half acre..
she's grounded.
A waved a Kraft Single and she ran home.
Still..grounded;)
I may sound earthy but trust me..first thing I do when I get up..every single day of my life is wash my face and apply mascara.
And most days I see no one..
That's just for me.
After breakfast etc..blush..and bronzer..
I am so not that earthy natural.
I get streaks done..and twice a year a trim.
I leave with wet hair except the trim..he trims dry.
Pretty low maintenance..But I do my morning maintaining in any weather any mood any feeling.
So earthy?
I just dig in it.
I used to feel like Sept ..was the beginning of a new year.
I don't anymore.For some reason.
Have a good long weekend~
Bellissime fotografie.
ReplyDeleteBuona domenica
Giancarlo..grazie:)
DeleteI do make-up just for me, too. Not the whole deal, but at least a bit. Glad to hear I'm not the only one!
ReplyDeleteI, too, adore tomatoes. I'll be buying quite a few next Wednesday at market to take home with me for pasta sauce. I always make a lot and freeze it. Yours look just fabulous and so do those waffles! What bounty you have in your garden! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
The weather is lovely..so far so good..Enjoy the market!!
DeleteYour roasted tomate pizza has me salivating...l'eau à la bouch
ReplyDeleteMiam
:) C'est bon ma belle!
DeleteI can't believe how quickly the summer has flown by. And already it is feeling like autumn. I feel cheated too! But I do love the autumn. Your tomatoes are just gorgeous and I love everything you have made with them. I have some to make a tomato pie with if I can ever get to it, soon I hope! Your pizza looks so tasty! Don't you just love pizza? So does your gnocchi. I adore gnocchi! Italian is one of my favourite food groups also! Kudos to Just Crumbs for writing a book. I know how hard it is and I hope hers does really well. She deserves it! I had to laugh at you grounding your chicken. That made me chuckle. I hope you have a lovely bank holiday tomorrow. Labour day already, how did that happen! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI fear age might be playing havoc with time!So many little tomato things I feel like making..ohh maybe the tomato jam today...Suzies book is being photographed by Betty @stemsandforks..should be a wonderful book.Again so many kudos for you and yours.I cannot even imagine!!
ReplyDeleteAlready September! How is it possible?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love September.
Enjoy, my dear.
Hugs
P.S. Your pictures are really a master piece! So absolutely amazing! I recognize on them September colors.
It feels like September today..the waning gardens the chilly morning the heavy tomatoes on vines.A magnificent day today and thank you Nina😘
DeleteOMG is right! I can't believe Mack and Dane start school tomorrow! Bo will be start Montesorri the following week. We already have leaves falling on the pool and deck from one Maple tree. The days are shorter, evenings cooler. I've done so much cooking the past 2-3 weeks but have no photos to show for it. I never seem to think of snapping pics when I'm rushing to get food on the table. I'm getting lazy too :) What a beautiful bevy of Italian and tomato dishes you've prepared! All winners!! This is the first year in many that I didn't grow zucchini. I wanted the space for another tomato plant :) I've harvested buckets and am freezing them whole this year to use in soups, stews and chili in the fall and winter. I love your low maintenance! I wish I could only get a hair trim only twice a year. The money I'd save...but, I hate gray and need to get mine touched up every 5 weeks. My front garden is looking great with the 4 o'clocks, begonias, dahlias and rudbeckia adding all the color now. I'm going to plant more 4 O'clocks next year!
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how happy that makes me that you like the 4 O'Clocks as much as I do..they really come into their own don't they? And big stocky floriferous clumps.Seeds so easy to save!Oh Bo in school !!Omgee Susan.I was remembering cuddling Oli after naps and he was so calm and dear to just let us adore him☺️He still loves the attention but what a gazelle😂.
DeleteI am freezing too..and made that Nordstroms tomato jam today..it was a heavenly day😘😘😘
I meant to say I dont like your neighbors...a lone chicken walks on your lawn...big woof. But they had problms wih the garden hose didnt they.
ReplyDeletePlease more chicken stories. A Kraft slice? Really?
Is that pizza recipe anywhere here?
Hi carol..you would love that neighbor..She came over out of concern:) Bécassine should not be on the road side of our homes..because shes not street smart LOL.
DeleteShe is the sweetest girl..Molly.I brought her a cake and 6 Bécassine eggs and tomatoes..the next day as we found out the day B flew the coop that Molly's dad had passed away. She is a model daughter♥
I couldn't ask for better neighbours all around..The hose neighbour is just "Involved"..very nice..friendly..just more involved;)A gardener..both are..excellent gardeners.
The pizza..J made the dough in the machine..you can make by hand or buy:) LOL so easy to buy fresh pizza dough.Earlier in the day..I roasted halved cherry tomatoes with Olive Oil..garlic..salt and pepper and oregano. This became our pizza sauce..So fresh and aromatic.I am making bags of this and freezing for all our pizzas lol..Top w/ mozza..bake on preheated stones at 475F for 10-12 minutes..top w/ basil etc..whatever you love as an herb.
Bécassine would follow me to the moon w/ a KTaft Single in my hand.
She's so funny she loves my cooking too:) I give her many leftovers and she moans:)
You are so cute! I think you are naturally beautiful, no makeup needed! Your summer garden delights. I'm not a tomatoholic, rarely eat tomatoes, and only cooked ones. I've never cared for the texture. Your summer annuals still look so pretty. Ours have mostly given up. I need to work today pulling out the dregs of summer, but keep putting if off because there is nothing yet available to replace. I looked yesterday. Still too hot!
ReplyDeleteHappy September, sweet friend to the north!
Oh I assure you..I feel like I need the artifice..not too much..but I definitely need more than ever.
DeleteAs a teen..in college..I worked at Eaton's in the cosmetics..a fancy store that no longer exists..I have always been interested in cosmetics..of course..I am not on the ball lol..and don't go for lash extensions etc..I like to look normal.
But I need help.
I see you..and you don't:)
My Nancy wears and needs nothing..like toi.
Today was majestic and magnificent..like an Indian Summer day..but those are still to come;)
Enjoy your beautiful Austin♥
