  2. Dearest Monique,
Indeed a very strange 2020 Easter...
Yesterday five of my siblings went to put the ashes out from Mom & Dad, nearby a huge oak tree where they first met in August of 1941.
They used to work for a big farmer, close to each other...
It was Easter 1942 that Dad got moved to his next place of service so it is odd that for Easter 2020 he and Mom's ashes are united back there...
We never know how our cycle of life will go and where we end up.
May it be pleasant for most of us and in good health; today things are unstable and from sheer panic, I wonder how many heart attacks have happened...? No figures about that.
LOVE your tea cozy Mrs. Bunny, such a charm! Your flowers look darling too.
Wishing you all the very best and I continue with my HTML work around the Manuscript for the book... quite a mega task and I'm looking forward to June and hope that by then, many things we all can put behind us.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. It must have been very moving.
We are Watching World on Fire and just watched The Darkest hour.Jacques was born in '41 and is quite the historian. He loves these movies.
I watched Unorthodox and loved it.

I can't seem to concentrate enough to read.

There are horrors happening right now..
Long term care facilities that are being mismanaged and people are not being cared for.Private..facilities at huge monthly costs. So shameful.
      So sad.
On top of families living this ordeal they are watching their elderly parents die without dignity.
      So sad.

    1. Rats! I just hit the wrong button and lost my comment. OK -- I'll try again!

Happy Easter! I love every photo (as always) and of course your beautiful painting and Peter Rabbits. And the covid blanket too! I have molds like your angel (only Easter) and since I couldn't get chocolates for Rick wanted to mold some. It works reasonably well (best two out of five!) but if you decide to do it,use Pam or similar to coat the mold or else you'll be remelting chocolate to get it out!

Have a most wonderful day, my friend.

  6. I hear a quiet acceptance here. The Beatrix Potter art makes my heart beat fast! And your art too. You ARE better! You are terrific and your art, in whatever media you choose is wonderful and good for our souls!!. We may all get better with practice, but please accept the wonderfulness of it now! I'll go to that painting site.
We are staying safe and quietly accepting of the changes...(most of the time.)

  9. Easter morning was very different for us. I listened to John Prine's music for five hours on my favorite local radio station, and then hubby and I heard Andrea Bocelli sing in Milano. It was beautiful, and reminded us of our happier times in Milan almost two years ago. Hope your garden brings you pleasure this spring. It's going to be 70 today, but storming. I will start my zinnia seeds today, all because of you :-)

I only heard of John Prine during this pandemic..interesting..sad.
Looking forward to Andrea..not yet watched..
Travel..I feel many will travel less..
Even Fl seems like a pipe dream. And forget sleepovers for x-border shopping..

      A different world indeed.

    1. I was surprised to read someone..a couple..having their sons move in with them..?I know ..well I think I know..we can't do that here.I can't even have my family across the street come over even though I have been in since March 11th?Apparently if they lived with you prior..and at the onset..that's fine..but siblings moving back in? Just not sure..
Hard to know..Maybe better explanations are needed:)
Linda..my skills are jack of all trades master of none.I swear:)♥
      Take care!!

      She has fairy fingers!

I was truly fortunate to have met her when I did:)

  12. Adorable primroses! I just went down the rabbit hole on her website :) Love the blanket too...so cheerful in spite of how it came to be. I planted basil and 2 varieties of parsley indoors, some sprouts, and planted peas outdoors. While I was planting the peas, I noticed what I thought were weeds and started pulling them to find out they were little garlic sprouts that had survived since last year! I may still have a few bulbs to harvest after all! Such a different Easter here too. We would have had an egg hunt for the boys and the whole family for dinner and combined birthday parties. Lauren's birthday was Friday. I think she's feeling a little blue being apart for so long as we all are. Thankfully, we have our gardens and can watch our seeds sprout ♥

    1. I am sure Lauren is missing you ALL♥
What joyful tearful reunions will take place.
I know..for a fact I won't hug anymore outside my family..not till a vaccine is up and running and here in Mtl we are like the French..a kiss on each cheek when meeting friends..no more for me.
It's funny my usual garlic is up ..and garlic I did not plant..maybe little Provence bulbs..?Time will tell..
I sowed Parsley and basil indoors nothing yet.
I must say though I am using a bag of earth..just black earth Fred had leftover from last yr so nothing really great for seed starting..still I was EXTREMELY grateful.
A GIFT from the heart.I just read garden centers are deemed an essential service and will open April 15th here.My local hardware store has earth and etc....I'll miss baskets and such..not sure how that's going to work out.
Just made a pot of tea for J and I ..so weak.he said do you mind if I make myself a Keurig? LOL.
From a seed sprout watcher like you Pea.

    2. My radish and pea sprouts are already up, and my large leaf basil :) So much fun to watch the wee green leaves popping out. I had bought a huge bag of vermiculite in the fall so was so happy I had a good seed starting mixture. My favorite nursery opens next week on Friday. I know it will be crowded, and I'm not sure if I will go on opening day...perhaps be there right when it opens and run through quickly :) I will wear a mask regardless. I'm afraid people are going to hoard vegetable plants this year so I want to make sure I get my tomatoes and perhaps a pepper plant or two. The golf courses here will open the same day with restrictions. No carts, walking only, social distancing, clubhouse closed, no touching the flags on the green, the cups will be covered so you can't reach into the cup to get your ball. John carries his bag so doesn't need to use a pull cart. Anyway, he is a happy guy now knowing that at least he can play, even though it will be different.

    3. Oh my..golf courses..nope..not here yet..I'm surprised..things must be going better there..
Not sure I will nursery shop..
I will always have vermiculite from here on end..as black earth is proving very tricky..no aeration:(
Parsley is not showing a thing..big leaf basil just starting but sloooowwwwwww.Tomatoes..up!

      Take care♥

  16. When I think about it, not a lot has really changed about our lives. Perhaps for Todd because he has always gone out each morning for a hot drink. Not for me though. I am a homebody. The one thing that has changed for me is the ability to get the groceries I need or want. That's it. Our Easter was pretty quiet as it always is. I was able to get a ham and roasted it, so thankfully that tradition stayed in place! I always love what you share. Peter Rabbit, beautiful crochet projects, your art, thoughts, etc. You are a real treasure Monique. I wish I could remember how we found each other?? Through an art page? Baking page? I cannot remember! But it was a red letter day for sure! xoxo

      I miss grocery shopping..
And when I think of all the places..we used to be in such close contact with people..I wonder how things will ever be again without that vaccine..
I mean..airports..stores..planes..football games..(AS you know I had become a fan of young men playing..)
It just seems so twilight zone.

I was envious of your ham;)
      Sorry I just saw this..
