A watercolor I made I actually like:)

Sketching Retreat announced some lovely tutorials.I signed up and there are many from so many talented artists..A lot graphic arts.. perspectives etc..Out of my league. But I have purchased a few of Shari's tutorials and when I discovered she was also amidst the talented teachers..I was so happy.

She posted this one and I followed her attentively..This is the outcome.

I see all the errors of my ways but all in all I am pleased.J really likes it too:)

Even if you get a few tips with these well worth it.

Our weather has been stellar:)

In the spirit of Halloween...

It's all quite gruesome in some places...

I stayed local and skipped Mc Mansions..I follow an Instagrammer..the brownstones in NYC..it must cost a zillion to decorate like that.

The Wizard of Oz..  The wicked witch..I was so frightened by her:)
I still don't like them..especially real life ones:)

Time change this weekend..I think I like it..I'll have to settle in and see:)
Take care.
Arlene's birthday is on Halloween:) Have a great one..

  2. Cool artwork, the colors are very nice and cheerful. It looks a lot like some of Koko's paintings, which few people have been able to replicate.

  3. Happy Halloween Monique! Can you believe October is nearly over? Gosh! I think the Fish Shop watercolor is amazing. For folks like myself, who are artistically challenged, it is amazing what can be created with a brush and some paints. I would think all that lettering must be difficult. Love all your pics. It is so much fun to see the gorgeous fall colors and Halloween decorations. It has been a stellar fall. Unfortunately, we are supposed to have rain all day, so our two little spooks will have to brave the storm to trick-or-treat us. I have a feeling they won't care one bit.

    1. I think your feeling is spot on!My family starting with my husband bringing the girls while I gave treats to my girls bringing their boys..rain sleet snow,,they trick or treated:)Her tutorial Pam was so fun..and I admire her art sooo much. She is a well known truly accomplished artist that hosts many art classes in the US..and Europe..I think the older I get the faster the days slip one into the other.Hope all is well:)

  4. Oh my! What colorful glory! I was so worried that because I saw no real color in England, that when I returned, ours would be gone. It's nothing like yours, but at least I made it back while leaves were on the trees and there was some bright color. But this -- wow! That gold! And I love your tutorial piece. I'll have to look that one up. Your painting has such a wonderful feel to it -- I can see why you and J liked it too!
    Happy Halloween!

  5. That painting is spectacular M. But I love all your art work. Including the card you made for my BD. And thanks for the shoutout. I am NOT looking forward to the time change. I hate the early evening darkness.

  7. I get so distracted sometimes. Started this comment yesterday - LOL. Then went down a rabbit hole with your link to the halloween decor. We were so beautiful just a few days ago and then the high winds came and we're almost bare! Golf weather a few days ago and this morning 36F. Your walks have been spectacular! I love your painting too. You used to do more archetectural paint/sketches and I always thought you were good at it. ♥♥♥

  10. We are often our own worst critics Monique! I love your painting, but I love all of your paintings! They are amazing! Always. You live in a very pretty area. We are such lucky people! I was terrified of the wicked witch and her flying monkeys. Especially the monkeys. It was years before I could watch that film all the way through! We had quite a few trick or treaters here. They come in from all over because we have little to no traffic on our street. I don't mind. I love to see the costumes! It is over by 7 pm, which is another good thing! I am ready to call it quits by then! xoxo

I used to love handing out candy..when our boys started going to more populated areas I think everyone knew big lots are not the place to be..So I stopped.I'm a witch our lights are off..We used to leave Nov 1 for Fl..Lights were out early the 31rst for that reason also..Many lights out on our street......But i used to love it..Some areas have sooo many littles..I have seen Tiktok posts where no one came:( I saw a touching one..a woman's son was in the hospital she left a note ..kids left their candies:). That's so nice!!!
