The most beautiful fall..ever.

The most beautiful fall..ever..

A great day.Oli was able to play a game after 1 month in a cast. They won.Yes that's Little Oli number 9.Who towers over us.

I have  soft spot for him.. I have a soft spot for the other 3 also.I am full of soft spots. They are the spots that fill my heart.

You know the thing about sports that I love is the camaraderie. Some students have been on the bench for 4 years.Never played. The parents and the grandfather come to every game. It's the friendships:)In one case..

I have a new found respect for dahlia growers in my zone or colder.

Yikes those little tubers I planted went forth and triplified +++++I dug them up..huge clumps..I'm not dividing..  I cut off all these scraggly roots..Brushed them off ..I had tagged them before..They dried in the sun yesterday today also they will. Then I will store in wood shavings indoors and keep my fingers crossed.Tightly.

Have a lovely week.

For Van Gogh lovers..a must see..

Rachel shared this on her blog..

  2. I got the notification of your post through Follow It. Love, LOVE the photo of you and J with the boys to the right of this. Those boys are towering over you both! (Love the boys that stole your heart as well. They are all so handsome.) Love, love your thick and beautiful hair. My hair has gotten quite thin in recent years. I wish for thick hair like yours. I have hair envy. This autumn has been beautiful. I am appreciating the color change more than ever. We have had some lovely bright sunny days, with not a lot of rain. That makes enjoying it even better. Your photographs are stunning. I so enjoyed seeing your Dahlia's over the summer, so I have my fingers crossed with you that they survive and come back. So beautiful. Thanks for that lovely video also. I shared it with my sister. I know she will really appreciate it too! Special. I hope you have a beautiful week also! xoxo

  3. I was wondering why I didn't get the Mail Chimp email also! I usually get both, thank goodness so I got the Follow It one. It's confusing though because you have an extra step to take to get to your post (the advertisement). Anyway, I got here and that's all the counts. ♥ I hope your dahlias come back stronger than ever! Especially now that you have the wedding veils - LOL. No frost yet here and I actually picked another small bouquest yesterday. So grateful! The gorgeous colors are so fleeting but it's getting beautiful here as well. I love how your family loves football and that Oli is back on the field, if only for the last game. So cute to see M there too! Your girls are so cute and loving. (We are LUCKY!). We will have no sports to attend until spring when baseball starts again. Something to look forward to! They will ski this winter as a family ever weekend there is snow, a nearby ski hill. We used to do that with L & L also. Great memories.

    2. I agree about blogging, so many changes to deal with :( I would see if you can email Mail Chimp and let them know they are mistaken. Perhaps that might help? I didn't know Lucas was injured now! OY.

  4. I agree! This is one of the most beautiful falls I can remember. There's a wooded area behind our home and yesterday, when the sun came up, it glowed with yellows, reds and oranges. I know it's not possible, but it seemed to turn from all green to glowing colors overnight. It sounds like you are tying up all the loose ends of your garden. It's going to be so interesting to see how your dahlias do next year. A work in progress. I need to clean up the tail end of the zinnias then we will be all set for the winter. Always love seeing your family pictures. The one of your girls with you and J in the background is adorable. And those grandsons...nearly grown and so handsome. The Van Gogh on water was so relaxing to watch. I admire those who make art seem simple. Hoping all the issues with sending your blog will be resolved. Why does it have to be so doggone difficult??? Hats off to you for hanging in there, Monique.

    1. LOL why DOES life have to be so doggone difficult..Honestly even having to change passwords..I have so many crossed off here and there in my password book. Our girls are fun and funny.I am grateful they like their careers..One daughter with our bridge issue..can sometimes take her 1.5 hrs to get home when it should be at most 30 minutes.People are up in arms.I'm so glad I don't work anymore. There I said it.:)Have a very very good weekend!

  7. Such beautiful fall photos. The selfie of your girls and you and J in the background is so sweet. As for MailChimp, have you logged in to archive the unsubscribed contacts? You don’t delete them, because they count as numbers. They are archived and not counted. I am sure your account needs some cleaning up to see the real numbers. You also have 2 MailChimp boxes on your sidebar. I hope your dahlias survive, they are so lovely.

  8. It has been a lovely fall here, too. I love your photos and the way you love your family. Happy for Oli that he is back in the game! My children are taking a short family trip to North Carolina staying away from the area that was so tragically affected by hurricane Helene to see the fall foliage in the mountains. However, the highlight of the trip for Reid at least will be going to a football game at Duke University. Enjoy your weekendπŸˆπŸ‚

  10. Thank you for sharing your beautiful fall color. The most we see here are golden leaves, though mostly just brown. You know me though, browns and russets are a favorite color palette. I love this season of change. I sit out in the sun room and look out to the terrace with oranges splashes of color in my containers, birds flitting from branch to branch in the trees, and squirrels roaming about. Enjoy this season, Monique. Your boys are growing up, and your heart must be bursting. How special to have these young men in your life. Congratulations Oli! Happy Days, Monique!

  11. I read every word of every post, including each and every comment---your followers are such a lively, interesting, truly GOOD bunch of folks, and inspiration and good will abound. I do echo Sarah just above, for you DO show your colors---a centuries-long tradition descending through families and knights and kingdoms and countries worldwide. And yours connote Family, Home, Friendship, Hard Work, Talent and the most intriguing little jaunts into your life and works, as well as the happy conversation amongst your FOLKS who correspond. I love being a part of all that you have met, as they say, and as always, treasure my seat a Nana's Table. Many thanks and long may your colorful flags wave in the sunshine!

  12. Reading backwards but eager to revel in your gorgeous posts and colors. I was so glad the trees here still had leaves and color when we got home on Friday. To be sure, it's waning but still glorious. I'm hoping to get out a bit today amidst bedbug remediation prep to get some photos. Meanwhile, thank you for yours!
