She is top tier.
I love escargots, thanks for the recipe. That last photo of the beloved garlic scape :-) I grilled at least 50 scapes, and froze them for a later date(s).
ReplyDeleteOops had forgotten to add the recipe..It is ..https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKNUZvbu4eY/?hl=en
DeleteEnjoy! Delish!
Thanks!
DeleteYour garden looks lovely. We’ve had a few very hot days after a wonderfully cool June and now things are looking stressed. Not the heat dome of the east and central Canada thankfully. It’s always hot on the west coast and we relish any cool trend.
ReplyDeleteOn another note if I hear “51st state “ one more time I’m going to throw up. Love from BC. Angharad
Happy Canada Day:) Oh the first time I heard that:(
DeleteEverything is gorgeous. The blooms, the baking, the book. How lovely of Suzie, too. And it's a little late in the day but Happy Canada Day! I've been wearing my Canada True North shirt all day!
ReplyDeleteI Love that you did that! My post was a touch late as none of my posts(the last two) had not been sent there was a glitch with MailChimp I figured it out..Yay!
DeleteHappy Canada Day Monique! Your gardens are amazing! All of your loving care shows. Thanks for explaining Mail Chimp issues. I just noticed that I missed your last post. I rely on my e-mail too much, lol. I hope you and your family are having a lovely summer. There is much to distract us in this crazy world, but seeing flowers bloom, vegetable gardens ripening, and listening to birdsong reminds me that life is good--sometimes we just have to look for it. Thank you for the beauty you contribute to the world, Monique.
ReplyDeleteMail Chimp issue I am going to have to keep an eye on it.Yesterday was eye opening..In more ways than one...I'll keep an alert check on what is going on..I hd not set foot in /on the mail account page in years.Thank you! Yes beauty can be found in a multitude of places..many unexpected:)
DeleteBreathtaking photos as usual, Monique. I do not take your posts for granted, and treasure each one. Canada Day was a beautiful one in Manitoba, with most of our wildfire victems back at home - whew. Rogers? Absolutely - and coupled with Crosby's molasses from NFL/LAB, we can bake the most moutwatering 6 week muffins. Thank you for sharing such beauty with all of us!
ReplyDeleteI am glad people are back home..Fires are so destructive my husband and I sit in sorrow and disbelief..floods also.Thank you for your words:)Have a great day!
DeleteStill inspiring! Always a pleasure to see what beautiful blooms grace your garden. It was cooler here yesterday morning, so I spend hours out working in the garden. A bit more to finish up this morning before rushing off for a lunch date. Of course it never ends. Currently I'm distracted with a cardinal family raising 3 littles in the topiary at my front door. I'll share photos soon. Happy July. Hope Canada Day was festive.
ReplyDeleteCanada day was festive in towns and parks etc..Here in my yellow house..all quiet on the front:) My flag flies so proudly though on my she shed,,Hard pruned roses.. J dug up a whole trench of hostas..So much is overgrown..I look forward to your photos!!
DeleteI left a comment, but it disappeared when I hit publish. I'll try again.
ReplyDeleteKeep inspiring! Photos of your beautiful garden blooms add joy to my day. Hope Canada Day was festive. I think of you so often! Keep the photos coming, Monique. No one does it better! Happy July!
It is here Sarah..It is because I moderate comments now because of a certain troll.
DeleteSuch a cheery post with all those pretty flowers and bright colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat is that last one? A poppy?
Happy Canada Day!
It is! She grew in my garlic:) A few others did too:)
DeleteVery cool.
DeleteYour seeds have still not arrived, in case you were wondering.
Unbelievable.. how many days now..Ridiculousness..
DeleteMonique, your photos are always amazing
ReplyDeleteLove your stories, baking, gardens and more.
You are just a really nice..kind person:)Thank you for that:)
DeleteSo glad to see you---I keep checking my e-mail and seems weeks between posts sometimes. I have, I confess, formed a great friendship with that BLACK Iris of yours, so like a character in my Paxton People---Miss Mavis Meeker is always in a hustle-bustle to go places and see things, and especially to HEAR things about other people. She's just striding along there in such a hurry to get to the neighbors' house where she sees two strange cars parked, and smells of good vanilla from the banana pudding she just "took by" the Postman's house in their bereavement.
ReplyDeleteI love her little ripply garments and fly-away hair. And all these new delights---our peony season blasted past as well, and I left planting the zinnias til after the concrete-blast-cleaners did their thing, so they'll be late. just wishing you a lovely JULY---warm and pleasant here, and I'm about to go out and ring the bell for the two fallen firefighters in Idaho. Special spot in my heart for all the First Responders, especially the Fire crews, for my Daddy was Chief of our tiny town's Volunteer Department. I felt so important to have that forbidden "Fire Phone" up near the ceiling of our kitchen, for there were only two in town, and we always got the call first.
Your photos are magic---I will never understand the way you have with light and transparencies and colors so true and fine. We've had some fabulous cameras in our time, but yours is beyond all, and so is your eye for the beautiful in everything. Stay your sunny self, and have a wonderful SUMMER!!
Thank you!! Miss mavis Meeker:) Love that.Oh your dad was a hero. All first responders are in my mind. I can picture the ceiling alert.Thank you as always for the colorful interesting kind comment as always:) Had to delete THE TROLL.
DeleteSo much to love here as always Monique. Your muffins look fabulous. What a beautiful crown! Love the little Canada additions. I trust you had a Happy Canada Day! There is nothing to help us appreciate our country more than the threat of someone taking away our peace! (enough said) Your gardens, your food, it's all gorgeous. A treat as always! xo
ReplyDeleteJust J and I quiet..gardens..lol what else is new:)Speaking of crowns our Not so Queen Troll had something to say about them..Pity that's all I have for her.Pity. Thank you Marie:)
DeleteAnother tiny peek-in to REALLY look at things, and I'm totally captivated by that little jar bouquet---the simple commons and the perfection of the plan---I think any bride carrying a basil-and-daisy bouquet would be guaranteed a happy home, lovely cooking, and a marvelous companion forever. All bases covered.
ReplyDeleteThe simplicity is perfection, and it could grace any table; perhaps it was just a childhood coincidence, but I would always choose a Simplicity Pattern for my clothes, over Butterick or Vogue---a fleeting memory this sunny morning as I ponder the past, and there's still something about a bouquet which looks as if it was just brought in in the clutch of a hand., rather than chosen and measured and clipped.
My YESSS! of the WEEK: I'm going to lunch and HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON with Sweetpea tomorrow, along with her Mom and four friends. I suggested it as something to look forward to when their Europe trip was done, and so we go, and it's my Treat if I can sneak the check past her Mom.
No time like the present..to treat. It is a present:)Have fun! I agree daisies and basil and small jars..Guess what? Simplicity patterns were my choice also.Again a Jacqueline of all trades master of none..but I could and can sew..It used to be feasible to sew 45 yrs ago..Now fabric stores are rare here unless you get to Montreal or Bouclair which you need to be a member to get beneficial prices..NOT worth sewing clothes anymore:( But I loved making my ugly maternity clothes..( I look back in horror)..and my little girls outfits.. Canopy beds and priscilla curtains..cushions and what nots..It was a great pastime :)Until I stated to work full time.. Crafts..one special craft sale paid for my realtor's course and the rest was history:)Enjoy tomorrow!
DeleteI did not look away when I saw that escargot recipe! What a delicious idea! Could be gourmet worthy! Did you make the bread dough yourself? This could also be good on baguette slices also. Have to experiment. Your carbonara looks delish too! I love Jamie Oliver's carbonara with zucchini. Your garden is looking so lovely. I love the arrangement on top of the stones. ♥ My garden is a weedy mess right now. I worked outside this morning for about 30 minutes and my face was dripping with perspiration. Going to be a toasty holiday weekend here also. Hope you had a wonderful Canada Day and I love your tributes to your wonderful country. ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteI did make the dough..Im always trying different doughs..
