There's almost no time to write~Well there is really.. I'm just scattered..
I know it's not of the utmost importance..but I like to look back and remember. That's why I do this:)
I'm still cooking and baking and gardening..pressing flowers and painting..
We all know traditional tabbouleh but perhaps you didn't know the French one..I didn't..Google and try..mine is w/ couscous..The traditonal middle eastern one is mainly parsley..not so w/ the French one.
I loved it..I'll share a few more new and delicious salads soon:)
A friend from IG sent me seeds from her garden..so cute..the fairies love them...
I harvested my garlic July 20th.It looks beautiful and it is now hung to cure in The Little House Of Garlic♥
Here's an idea of what to do w/ pressed flowers..
Easy peasy..the ones at top of this post.. not yet pressed are from a lovely lady's garden..I just met her..an old flower press..as well as this one..from clients over 25 yrs ago..these pansies..all pressed..maybe 4 yrs old?
I honestly forget..:)
Maybe less..
Make gift tags! Make an arrangement under a glass tray or frame..It's honestly a soothing beautiful hobby!..
Hobbies are great! One of my daughters just took two pottery sessions and loved them..a sampling of what she made:)
She'll always have them and years from now look back and love the moments she spent making them.
Your pressed flowers look so pretty. Love the pottery your daughter made. I am going to google that recipe!
ReplyDeleteSo many different recipes..I kind of amalgamated a few:)Thank you!
DeleteLove your pressed flowers. The gift tags are such. Wonderful idea, so personalized and homemade. So sorry about your lettuce. Your garlic is quite the bounty. Your little fairy garden is so adorable. Thanks goodness for Google.
ReplyDeleteIt's a neverending battle..I wonder if you are plagued by garden pests ? Yes Google..Amazon..;)
DeleteGardeners are eternal optimists! Some years some things grow better than others, and the next year it's all topsy turvy. I have pests on my sweet peas and calendula this year, but they are leaving the zinnias alone. Your pressed flowers are lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou're so right! Every yr different. My calendula seeds did not sprout I think they knew they would have an untimely death.....I miss them;)
DeleteI love your beautiful pressed flowers and the tabbouleh is lovely with fresh ones. What an amazing garlic crop you have! I love the pottery your daughter made! Unique and lovely! It's so strange what those awful critters decide to eat. Certain roses, not others. Basil. Weedy grape vine leaves. Thank goodness they don't eat clematis flowers. I can't grow hibiscus in containers any more...they love those too! We have gotten smoke from the Canadian wild fires here this week! We thought it was fog rolling in from Lake Michigan but then we could smell the smoke! Crazy.
ReplyDeleteThose fires..but closer ones mostly in Ontario created smog a few days..I mean those firefighters♥♥♥
DeleteYes great yr for garic but th beetles..I mean look..Linda recommeneded the trap and it works ..however it may be attracting the neighbours ones..not sure..disgusting they are.
I love her unique pottery!!So cute!Have a great weekend♥
That's what I've read about the traps, that they attract them from all over to your yard with the attractive smell. We do the grub control in the grass to try and kill the larvae before they become adults. It does seem we have fewer.
DeleteIt's probably considered a pesticide so your village may not allow it.
I think nematodes were thought to work..but my neighbour tried to no avail..Look how many I have I had to try something..on FB people are complaining everywhere:(
DeleteYour beautiful shares inspire me. I had to smile at the lettuce gourmands. At least they are colorful! 😂 I worked about this morning pruning things in the containers. Nighttime visitors are having a feast on several things. I can hear them "singing" after dark, but never see them.
ReplyDeleteTabbouleh ~ have not eaten that in decades. I will need to try the recipe. Love the pots! Beautiful work!
Thank you dear Sarah..Summer is a time of plenty..plenty everything...we have had rain which has helped the grass somewhat but everything needs constant vigilence..and Im not out at night!:(Bon weekend!
DeleteCan’t comment again :((
ReplyDelete3rd time lucky? 🤞
Yes..you're here..The only thing I changed here is comment moderation.
DeleteSo comments don't show up right away..For some reason..I had started to get spam comments like investing etc..I'm not into that lol:)
Hmmm…interesting. I can not do Replys. Wish I could.
DeleteI should not be perceived as a spammer imho 😢
Awaiting. Operation just means I see the comment no one else.I click ok..like for you..and trash an for the escort service 😂
DeleteOh, you remind me I haven't used my flower press in years and I really must. The pansies are especially wonderful pressed, aren't they -- so colorful and so flat! I love the tags. Simple and perfect. Your cooking looks wonderful and so does the garden except for those wretched bugs. Heartbreaking. And all that garlic! I especially love your cottage photo. It's just darling! I'm painting again, too. Doesn't it feel good to lose yourself in paint again?
ReplyDeletePretty much got lost in it a lot during Covid and Paris People.
DeleteWhat a Godsend that inspo from Geni..;) on her feed was and continues to be..I'll finish my 3 rd sketchbook and maybe move on to learn things:)
I had Oli this week and believe it or not he wanted to paint a Paris People♥Be still my heart..so focused:):)
Yes now's the time to press!
Jeanie..I love your art works.
You are keeping busy! It is so hot around here, I'm not doing very much at all. Watching the Olympic games.

Oh..life made me focus on staying busy.:)I have to..Not in a Oh Ims so busy way lol..just doing things I enjoy to stay out of mind trouble lol♥
DeleteWEve had hot days too..I can only imagine you!x
Sorry but I almost gagged when I saw the Japanese beetles...I don't know why, but I can't stand the sight of them. Every morning, I find them asleep in my beautiful plants (guess I can't blame them), so I have to remove them and stomp on them. What a way to start the morning! I made your French Tabouleh and loved it! From what I see, August is going to be a drier and cooler month here. And I don't mind that at all. ♥
ReplyDeleteDebbie they make me sick..don't get the trap you will be sickend more.Masses..
DeleteThey are true destroyers and this yr has been the worst. The bag fills so fast w/ a mass of them.
I hate them so.
:(
It's cool today!
Love always your garden photos, well maybe not the beetles, but the others. ;-) Another lovely garlic harvest. You have the greenest of thumbs I think! Love the pressed pansies. We are looking for Johnny Jump Ups to plant on my mother's grave. Your tabbouleh looks fabulous, but everything you make does. Makes you hungry to look at your food photos even if I have already eaten! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe both love food.I just wish bread..croissants..pasta..cheese were the non caloric items!
DeleteI love your pictures. They are really amazing!
ReplyDeleteNina..thank you!
DeleteThe pressed flowers are gorgeous!
