Undoubtedly my girls in my gardens.. These were new to me..last to bloom..
I can go out every day and make a few bouquets to sprinkle here and there ..
Sooner than later lovely home grown bouquets will be a thing of the past. The best for me at this time of year..Cosmos bouquets and these. Many:)
I would love Dahlias but ..they don't flourish for me.
This is a terrible shot of a pie I made ..This is Marie's recipe..
An apple pie has a baby with a sugar pie:)
It's perfect for an apple lover with a sweet tooth..Thank you Marie.
You know..I have been making many of her recipes for years and years. An unsung hero in the kitchen dept if you ask me.
If you like to cook and bake she is a wealth of info and tried and trues.
Nature is amazing.
And this is a fun part..I fell in love with that jean jacket..from the Riviera..
Look what I found on Poshmark.
We had a delicious casual Sunday dinner at one of our daughter's for darling Oli's 14th bday..Caro took a pic of me..in front of their blackboard wall which was quite distracting lol..she removed the background to show the jacket.
I know something is Ok when my girls reallly like it too:)
Had to swoop my hair to show the details..It really is maybe a bit too long now and hides too much...
I felt so lucky when I saw it.
It will hopefully make it to a few football games..
We have been to a few..have another this Saturday..
As long as I don't see them getting hurt..I really love watching them.
What dedication.
I can tell fall is coming..some trees have started to show their true colors..perennials are tired and old looking.
Not anticipating the Fall cleanup with excitement....
Take care...
That hydrangea is so interesting. Such variety in one bloom! I had a very poor hydrangea year. Hardly any flowers. Love your zinnias. I have a lot too and I will plant even more next year. It's the only thing left that is thriving now. Love your pictures and stories. Oh, and that jacket is way cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks A! Yes to zinnias..do you love little yellow marigolds? The seeds are easily harvested and d very well blooming their heads off..Cosmos too:) Thanks goodness some things take lol.
DeleteYour photos blow me away!!! I liked making little bouquets for spots around the house.I adore that jacket. You are probably the hippest grandmother in the football bleachers. Enjoy the games & those wonderful grandsons.
ReplyDeleteLol not sure about that..lots of young nanas..But I sure love going.(NEVER thought I would say that:))Thank you Ga!
DeleteHi Monique! First thing I must thank you for the recipe for the Cinnamon/Sugar loaf (last post?). I made it and we really enjoyed it. Actually I doubled the recipe so we'd be able to freeze some. (It freezes well.)
ReplyDeleteThose zinnias are so beautiful--love all the different shades. I have fallen head-over-heels in love with zinnias. I'd love a few dahlias, too, but have decided not to plant any more flowers that require me to dig up bulbs. I'm getting lazy in my dotage, lol.
Love your painting, and that jean jacket was made for you. Now I want to see the front of it...Glad you found it.
Enjoy your family, football games and fall clean-up. It's a great time of the year!
Ill try and get a pic in daylight:)I don't want to dig up bulbs either..The few dahlias I di have success with well I didn't with the bulbs and they are a pain in the back to dig up.I do admire my friends that grow them:)I like that loaf too:) Glad it worked for you!It is a beautiful time of yr..and once clean up is done..It all looks like the future to me..and hope..:)
DeleteGorgeous bloom. They make such lovely bouquets. Yes, fall is coming. How fun you found that sweet jacket. It suits you.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I cant believe how much I love it:):):):
DeleteI so love your zinnia bouquets. I discovered a few growing in a container I ignored all summer while I was away. I'm thinking maybe they'll be a small bouquet too. I love Marie's recipe -- she really rocks. The pie sounds good. And that jacket is just darling. I'm not a football fan but saw my fill when Kevin was playing in HS because you've got to support the kid. I hated the tackles! And i love the painting of the woman in YOUR jacket!
ReplyDeleteHahah how sweet the woman in MY jacket..If only she knew how I coveted it back in April..uncanny I found it:)Zinnias are amazing..amazing.Marie does rock.An unsung hero:)My husband cannot believe my determination to watch their football games.last yr Jeanie I had to leave the field in tears when Oli got hurt:( A fine spectacle I made of myself;)Have a great weekend!
DeleteMy hydrangeas looked like yours, I have three varieties and I so enjoyed them while they lasted…all done now. I so enjoy your photography and paintings, thanks for the beauty..
ReplyDeleteOh, that jacket!! … charming….and you are just adorable.💟 Happy days to you. xo, V.
I'm so happy and surprised that you were able to find the same jacket that you painted from Geeparee's photo! What good luck! It looks great on you. ♥ We entertained last night and I had a beautiful bouquet of zinnias and dahlias on the table. I'm so sorry you can't grow dahlias. It's the critters that love them too much, correct? I'm so happy I tried growin zinnias again...thank to you! Years ago I tried and the leaves got so ugly looking, mildew or some such thing. They are real beauties. Even our hummingbirds love them. What beautiful hydrangea colors too. How I wish I could grow blues and purples. Our soil says 'no you can't' - LOL. I do love how the white ones that turn green, thankfully. Have fun watching your handsome boys play football! We have no sports to watch our boys play in this fall. They are the Boys of Summer with their baseball.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's dear friend Heather(I love her two) her two boys are full on baseball and hockey..So I get the baseball:)My luck with dahlias..first year very good..people would stop and say oh what are those..I saved the tubers..(I know how hard you work) Did what you said..Not one was good:( Funny I can keep garlic bulbs lol..But apart from that..late blooming here and ERWIGS live in them and chomp them.I LOVE them they don't love me..I bought 2 beauties from a local grower..NOT one bloom before frost..buhbye..Ill just keep loving yours:)
