Time goes by so very fast...like gardens..

We had three nice days:) Two I gardened my heart out.

Filthy was I..

But I am always so grateful somewhere in my heart to be able to do it all.

The third..We did errands. One of our grandsons turns 18 and is going away for football so I bought things for desserts and etc..

My Littles are their own person.. doing what they want to do with parents full approval after careful scrutiny.

I just want them happy and healthy.:) I adore them.

And then it got cold.. and rainy again.

And my well established dahlias may have been planted too soon..

Time will tell.

I follow garden influencers and it's so funny how we think we know it all.

LOL we don't especially in different zones even so slight..

Yes Goutweed is invasive..Vinca for sure..Ajuga..yes..

Pachysandra..Stay Away..

I recently saw Solomon's Seal being recommended ..well I can tell you that here..I cannot get rid of it.

Same with Gooseneck Loosestrife.

Rose Campion..but I love it and pull it out.

Creeping bellflower..the worst.

Grapevine ..sooo invasive....

So beware of recommendations..perhaps ask someone you know.

When I have shared invasives..they are warned.

Oh and Jack -in -the- pulpits? Totally invasive.

I would love Miniature Iris..Iris.. to be totally invasive..but bloom..Like these:)

LOTV totally invasive also.

Forget-Me-Nots..totally.Im fine with that:)

Spanish Bluebells.. Unbelievably invasive.

Hostas get TOOO big..sun or shade..Oli dug out quite a few last yr..More need to go.

Desserts.. I mad an Oreo Cheesecake as per Max's request(Anyhting Oreo..lol)

And added a more mature dessert..

Biancas mother's flan..

I have to confess I tested it out on us.

A 10.

Period.

T..On IG..  You can find her here..  has often made creamy desserts etc..

I really only had made Crème Brûlées for J..

One day she told me she had bought a Llanera.. a pan especially made for flans.

I was smitten with the pan and with how often she had said J would like.

So..I bought one..

And found this..

Oh my goodness..I am not a dessert person..kept slivering lol...

So that was the second dessert for the party.

KEEPER...

Have a lovely weekend...

My blog is a touch of a garden journal..

At this time of year and through to fall..my blog is mostly my garden journal..every year different.

This year wet and wild:(Dismal.

And chilly.

With a touch of baking interspersed.

In French we have a saying..:"Les années se suivent mais ne se ressemblent pas".

Years follow but do not look alike.

So true.

Awakenings..

Let me tell you 'bout the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees:)

It's here.

I am recommending this Hori Hori tool I received for my birthday in February.

It's great!!!Nasty roots of invasives ..dividing plants etc..So

I tend to overdo Spring.I can go out right after breakfast.. and start..either refreshing paint on obelisks.. looking around at what needs to be done..adding mulch to clematis.. After lunch..edging..( ;( )..

Digging out goutweed and those awful tall bluebells that have sprung up EVERYWHERE.Those cute bells have..tuber like roots and spread even worse than mint.Creeping Bellflowers they are called.. ..LOTV.I love them but everywhere now..

Fertilizing clematis and some irises.

Ripping out grass in paths..I just don't know when to stop.

My husband will say..:"C'est assez Monique".

I hope those of you who celebrated Mother's day..Had a good one.

Into each life a little rain must fall.

Not all families are gilded.

This is a very commercial holiday ...So like Valentine's etc..if you are without loves..or family..It can be very hard.

As in my little watercolor..Time stands still for no one..

At one point we become the lady in the middle.

It all goes by too fast in some cases..

Sometimes it seems to drag if we are not well and watching the world go by..

Other times.. the speed of lightning, especially looking back.

Have a really good week:)

Take care.

PS footnote /I found out something interesting from an Antonio Valente post..It is safe to plant annuals once the crabapples have lost their blooms..I usually plant around May 24h..I will see:)
