Tea and painting ~While freezing rain was falling..

Seems so long ago..when we were strawberry picking~
I found these pics on my daughter's Instagram and asked her for them.
I like painting back shots and only being in back shots..
such a beautiful day it was..she wants to go to a busier place next year..I loved the quiet of this farm.
It would probably be more exciting for him:)

Meanwhile ..this past week we had 2 gorgeous mild very unlike February days with those brilliant blue skies and bright sunshine..and then the freezing rain came..I had many plans for baking..but the power flickered..and I was reminded of Christmas eve..and put those projects safely aside..

Bits and bobs of pinks and reds..blooming teas, vintage Valentines, pretty stamps , card making ,new Rice Krispie treats recipe.. and strawberry picking last June~

The cookies are the same as in my last post..the stamp..well since I mentioned them last time too..remember you can use them for applying on your dry royal icing like Bridget does..I have yet to perfect that technique of a nice coating to be able to stamp..seems I was better when I dipped the cookie into..a glaze sort of..that's how I used to paint them..anyways..all of you close to a Target(I am still missing ours..) ..those aisles..when you first walk in..to the left..they are my faves when we are in the US..go peek if you have not..such sweet stamps cards..Littles things..
For the Littles eating pleasure..go to Marie's..GOBBLED UP these were..

I love blooming teas..it's a special treat to set a woven pod in a pot and watch it bloom.Do you see what I see?
They are good too..and you can refill the pot~Not forever but a good strong twice.

Un peu de jardinage..inside;)Inside a teapot~

Bon Weekend~

  1. Oh Monique, berry picking with Noah. I bet it was pick one, pop one in the mouth. I love those flowering teas. I have to admit, I have two of those teapots and have never made tea in them. Wasn't raised on hot tea, and down south we mostly drink tea in a glass of ice. But how beautiful. My knees just about started to shake upon hearing of freezing rain; my least favorite thing in the world. Don't tell anyone, but I too love rice crispy treats and will have to go look at that recipe. I love Target too. Such cute little things in the dollar aisle. Have a good weekend. I know you will.

    2. I'll have to try one. It does look good. I looked at your reading list and saw one by Kristin Hannah. I just started one of hers' last night - Nightingale. I can't believe they closed your Target. That is un-American.

  2. Great post - loved the strawberry picking. Reminds me of being in the South and picking strawberries with my cousins.
Great photos. Hope your weather is better. We are going to hit the high 80's this weekend. But it does cool down at night.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  3. Oh, Monique, the strawberry picking looks like a special outing. Are you painting this? Is that you with your grandson? Your blooming tea reminds me that I need to do this again. It's so special!
Your valentine is totally charming! I had hoped to make valentines this year, but this nasty virus has me caught at the moment. Not getting much done, and certainly not much creative endeavors. Hoping to be better by the weekend. Bon Weekend to you!

  4. Ohhh . . . qu'elle belle poste! (Bad French I know!) I love every bit of this, but then I always say that because I love all of your posts. To be able to pick strawberries with your grandsons, how wonderful. Those strawberry baskets! How adorable! The sunhat (and the wearer) even more adorable and those valentines. Your painted ones are so very pretty. I treasure my Christmas Card and have kept it out to remind me each day of your goodness to me. I am glad the liddles devoured the squares. I thought they might! The flower teas . . . blooming fabulous. I love your tea pot. I have never seen one like that. I will have to be on the lookout. I had one which you could sit over your cup and it would drain into your cup, but Todd knocked it over and it broke. Sigh . . . he is very clumsy that way. I have learned not to hang on emotionally to anything breakable in this house, lol Have a super Friday and Happy Weekend! xoxo

I keep things that mean a lot to me out in plain view too;)
Noah is a good strawberry picker..he doesn't get bored..I loved that.

  10. I love your painting. I too have one of your paintings out since I received it. I hate when the lights flicker and you had plans to bake. Right now it is snowing and it looks so pretty. With a little luck I will get to do some more snowshoeing today or tomorrow. The weather has been so strange, we were up to 53 yesterday when we took our day trip. You really must miss Target as you got such cute things there. My Littles and their momies will be having a sleep over this weekend so I think I will have to do some baking today. Have a great weekend!

  11. Oh, Strawberry Fields Forever! What lovely shots of you and Noah. You look like you walked off a Mary Engelbreit calendar :) What a juxtaposition to the frozen rain on the pine. Oy! We also had rain changing to snow a few days ago. The streets were almost empty here as no one wanted to venture out slipping and sliding. I still have yet to try a blooming tea. I do love my tea in the afternoon. Something I've really grown to appreciate. My Danish family were all coffee drinkers...you must drink coffee when you eat Kringle - LOL. I love the dollar aisles to the left as you walk into Target! I always check them for M&D. They would love the Rice KMrispie bars - me too!

  18. Oh! Beautiful strawberry days - and you look very fashionable for a picker! Long for that sunny summer day when the berries are ripe. Sky leaden gray today.....
Your tea makes me wish I was a tea drinker. And finally, I signed on to Bloglovin and your's is the first I clicked on. I signed on, but not sure it's working yet, thank you for the nudge, Nana. Birthday party about to start for Miss Isadora - it's a Star Wars party:)

  20. Lovely photos, Monique. Strawberry season seems so far away right now. We always get a few nice days in February as well...enough to trick us into thinking Spring isn't that far away. An ice storm will turn life upside down here in the Pacific NW. In no time power lines start coming down. I haven't tried blooming tea...I must do that.
