♥Serendipitea~

Below a little one I made like the turquoise one:)I only persevered because Kathleen suggested I do:)

It's right around the corner..
I think my favorite years for Valentines were my primary school years..
I loved giving out Valentine's..they are so cute..

Julia Child and her husband sent some out every year..

I also loved giving my Littles cute furry friends..but last year Jacques said..:"They are getting too old for this..:("
So cards this year..sending cards..to my beaux..my Little beaux♥

We get together as a family on or about that time..because we celebrate some birthdays..
Caroline..our bébé..turns 41..I already know what I am bringing for desserts etc..
I'll have to share after the date if they turn out..

I am loving crocheting as you know and made another cozy in wool..Kathleen told me to :"Not give up":) So I unstitched the awful one and tried again..

However..that first photo..and below ..is a cozy Kathleen made for me..

I don't collect MC..but I follow fervent collectors of MC..and when I saw the first tea cozy Kathleen knit like this ..I thought..:"wait...Stop the car....I love this! It's MC..and Mary Engelbreight!"All knit up into one..

so I asked is she could knit me one aslo..♥
A treasure.
You may remember the Beige and pink one she made for me.

She is an expert knitter.
And such a very nice person!
She was offering some of her beautifl knit facecloths for sale..they just happened to match 3 of the soaps I brought home for myself from Provence:)

I see all the errors  in mine..crochet..and how hard is red to photograph?

Just look at Susan Branch's beautiful book..Love..a gift to me that I cherish..and the vintage Valentine..also a gift..

I think I keep everything..
No not true..
I tossed all my Oolong teas.
And made donation bags....

I made some of Maries' raspberry jam bars..and cut out one in a heart for this post.

Hands down Jacques gives these 10 stars. And yes I have been making them since 2010♥

You know Marie..

She has this blog..and this blog..and this book:)♥
Who writes a book this voluminous and packed with real recipes that work?
This is not just another pretty face:)

I tried a little garland too..Oh if I had a little girl..here there and everywhere in her room. You can find the tutorial for the heart garland here~

But who knows maybe she would not like them.
I went to a store I love ..April Cornell...the girls clothes/dresses are out of this world..I mentioned that if I had a little girl..this would be the shop..and the salesclerk said..little girls and their moms are not into these these days..what a shame.
I think Britney changed the dress code years ago.
Althought I bet Amelia..Alicia Paulson's little girl would like them.

Any of you watch This Is Us?
I am happy my grandchildren are watching this show.
I am not looking forward to the Super Bowl episode..

but how I have loved this show since day one.

My husband loves it too.

The acting is top notch..the feelings take hold of us..and we can get lost in quality tv..for a while~
It's been a funny weekend..cloudy..sunny..A little off..

Still organizing here;)
Have a nice afternoon~ And beginning of week..

  2. I love your photos. My mother had a lot of tea cosies, my favourite was a knitted one with tied bobbles at the top, it was tiny, a single tea pot size.

  3. I'm not sure which tea cozy I'd pick. So cute and hard to make I bet. I have heard of This Is Us and guess I need to watch it. I am always searching for good shows to watch. I just finished Estates In The Country (I think that is what its called) about country houses in GB. Such a wonderful show and good way to see what the different parts of the country are like. I started my bread today and had to go back and look it up. 1/2 teaspoon of yeast I thought? It couldn't be, but it was. My dough wasn't sticky so I think I should have measured more accurately. It is rising though, so maybe, after all, I won't be the only person in the world that can't make it ;)

  4. I fall into a joyful state of bliss every time you post! I love all the cozies, yours and Kathleen's. They are -- well -- cozy! I wonder if Marie's recipe for Raspberry bars is the same as mine! I was going to make those for Valentine's day. Rick loves them!

Your banner is so pretty. I'm in the Valentine making mode. Getting ready to post a tutorial for an altered candy box, which I have filled with pink, red and white M&Ms. I must finish some valentine's, too! Oh, I'm so glad Valentine's is in February. Even though it's the shortest month, the weather makes it feel longest and it gives me something pretty and pink to anticipate!

  5. Yes, STOP THE CAR - LOL! I love her work! You know I ♥ MC and anything red. Hello, Kitty :) The dishcloths are beautiful and match your soaps spot on! I've been wanting to make a heart swag! Good for you! I find crochet so relaxing. Challenging at times and I hate ripping up! I know another birthday coming soon :) A joyful upcoming month for us both (CA for me!). Oh, how I love This is Us. The acting is wonderful and heartfelt. I know we'll both be sobbing next week. They said to set your DVR for longer than the usual ending in case the Superbowl runs late. I set mine for a hour after the usual end time as we'll be gone that evening watching the game at a friend's home. Another tip to add to your Amazon watch list - The Big Sick. Academy Award nominee for screen play. Bon Soir, Mon Amie ♥

  6. I have been enjoying This Is Us, and I think the upcoming one will be a tearjerker for sure. I was glad they gave us a heads up about the possible viewing time change due to the football game. I'll have to get the DVR all set up for it.

I love the cozies and your pretty garland. My grandson is almost 8 and I was just debating what kind of little Valentine item to get him. In past years he liked various stuffed animals, but this year as I was considering a little stuffed pug dog, I wondered if he's in a different stage now. It's going toward nerf guns and non Valentine-y stuff like that now.

    1. Didn't it all fly by? ♥These little beaux of ours?Yes our 8 yr old still enjoys a Nerf gun..but he seems to have skipped the toy stage..We even talked about this the other day:) Sprorts makes their hearts skip a beat..they live dream eat sports lol..just like me;);)(Just kidding)..I love everyone in that show..Kudos to the writers..and waht great casting:) Seems many of us will be tuning in:)

You are doing so well; and, how wonderful to have a friend to make you such wonderful gifts AND be your partner in the joys of creating from sticks and string. ;) THANK YOU for the link to that cute little garland! 10. We need a tea pot cozy! They are so cute and we do love our tea. You never get too old for Valentine's treats - just saying. And my favorite Valentine's were from many years ago, exchanging cards in school, making a tissue paper covered shoe box to put them in, decorated with hearts. Such fun.

  16. What a lovely post Monique. I love all of your Valentine goodies . . . the sweetly addressed valentines for the boys, HELLO KITTY! (how sweet is that!) That beautiful black, white and red tea cosy. Very, very ME! I need to find a pattern, because I have Tea Cosy Envy now! lol I think the red one you made is also gorgeous, but you are right red is really hard to photograph as is chocolate I find. Anything tomatoey or chocolatey are so difficult! So is beef I find! You really need something else with it to help set it off. That's probably whey lots of people use icing sugar to dust. I love that Valentine from Julia and her husband. I had not seen that before! What a true character she was. I haven't made my Raspberry bars in a long time. Todd really loves them. I need to make them again soon, maybe for Valentines day. Your words about me are always so very kind. I am not sure I deserve them, but I do so appreciate them. You are a treasure. I value our friendship. You know I have only ever met really kind and lovely people on line. People I value very much, of which you are one of the most special to me. xoxo
PS - You are inspiring me to want to do something Valentiny! Your baby heart are adorable!

Marie..One pattern..I can give you..for one of the coxies Kathleen had to buy a pattern..so she explained that basically I bought it so she gave it to me.I am going to scan and send to you..
I have no idea how she manages those checks..it's almost double knit..? Hard to explain..Anyway she' is wonderful and super busy. And how honest is that? Giving me the pattern?
Marie..I think my tea pots are Barbies now and will dress them;)
Thanks for helping to give that love too..CROCHET!

  19. I am in love with this post (as I am with your entire blog)! There are so many cute ideas here, thoughtful reminisces, and you are killing me with that tea cozy! You must have a sphere-shaped teapot, because it fits this cozy beautifully. All of the teapots I have are sort of oddly shaped, and I'm thinking one of these darling, got-to-have-one tea cozies wouldn't work with any of mine. Sigh. I love the way you cut out your raspberry bar with a heart-shaped cookie cutter. I just treated myself to a set of these, have in mind chocolate cherry bars for Valentine's Day, and now I'm going to cut them out in heart shapes. Love this post!
