Isle-Sur-la-Sorgue~ And delish apple cakes~

So much too say..too many words.. too many photos:)

So ..antiques..galore here...shops..brocantes..etc..

I mentioned before..I found the prices much better in Aix for old plates and such there..beautiful antique plates that I left behind were 3 euros each in Aix..salt boxes 14 euros..I found nothing in that range  on Isle -Sur-La-Sorgue..perhaps I was not looking hard enough.

The market..we were packed like sardines..I mentioned that..

Really like the metro..:(

So although it had held it's charm for us..plenty..
market time was un petit zoo.

We had lunch at a fun little place on the water.
I had to be on the water.I sound so spoiled..I am not..but eat indoors or out..same price..let me be on the water..the menu and place mats were adorable..I found some for sale later on at librairies..but my Littles are too old now and so am I ..;)
ISLE is like a mini Venice they say..well that is a HUGE stretch..but I would say a dollhouse Venice.

It is a charming charming town..

The owner of the resto felt we had been super patient I guess.. and offered us a glass of wine on the house..we had had our glass and had to drive..but that was so sweet..They were soo busy.
What's the rush waterside in Provence?
Not me.

I still go to bed thinking about the days we spent in Provence.

But ..back to reality ..and reality where we live is not bad at all..

One thing I have loved about blogging..is the fun contacts/relationships we make..

I think about that..because it seems we are losing more and more bloggers..

Terry..I knew at Gardenbuddies..she doesn't have a blog but we share a love of baking..family..daughters..Littles..gardening..

she sent me an interesting recipe..a long time ago~ And I made them right away..and forgot to post..

SO GOOD..

Thanks Terry! For thinking of me!

Delicious little apple cakelets..

you can find the recipe here..

  2. Yes, I dream about Provence and Paris and London and... For the last seven years Scott and I would see an airplane while we were walking and we would dreamily point and say "there we are, headed to London". Now we walk and see an airplane and say "there we are, headed to Memphis" hehe, it's not quite as glamorous but it's the people that matter! I am ready for a trip though and your pictures have once again, inspired me :)

  4. Your pictures are amazing. I think I've already told you I'll be in Provence next July. I'll stay in Aix-la-Provence. I believe it's on Sunday its market took place, isn't it? I ca't and I don't want to resist to a good market!

  5. When you revisit France, please come to Carcassonne, and I will show you all the places that are like your photos and more, but without crowds or stress. We have some water--the Aude river and the Canal du Midi--but no pretensions about being like Venice. The citadel is jaw-dropping. So is the surrounding countryside. Why, of all the places in France, we chose to move here...

  15. A lovely trip down memory lane Monique!💕. I would need to arrange for a shipping container if I went to all the markets that you did! Although, at this stage in my life, I am thinking about all the things I could do without. Perhaps I would have more restraint than my younger self.

    1. I too think about all the things I can do without.I am older than you..So yes..everything is beautiful and tempting..but..at my age..I think..no..don't..:)
But some things..well..what can I say?
A tiny little pottery vase w/ violets on it? From Tourrettes-Su-Loup..the potter and his shop.. violets are embedded in the old streets and wolf prints♥It's the utter charm of it all:)
I can imagine w/ your exquisite taste..the treasures you would find.Bon weekend belle fille.

  20. My heart is doing summersaults, so in love with this post. Oh, the photos. Your eye is outstanding for capturing just the right things. I loved the sweet dog and oh! Those antique markets! And bowls! And garlic! And I really want a red and white tablecloth just like that one. You may not post every photo you've taken but I have a feeling you have many more just as beautiful and I hope you look at them often, especially when it's cold and snowy and all white!

I loved that tablecloth too..I did buy a large linen square..for the middle of my dining room table w/ my initials..:) At least they look like mine..:) Next time I will have a kitchen window measurement with me..Many of our windows here have no treatments..I love light..but ..many of the markets have just a dash of white w/ ties..in linen ..w/ embroidery..all soft and neutral..I would love one♥I snap as I walk there..no time for actually taking real pics;) :)Wait till you see thecrowds in Aix..ohlala!

  21. I am not surprised you go to bed thinking about that lovely holiday Monique! I would be too. I often think back to our own holiday in the South of France, a long time ago now, but one of our nicest. Your photos have all been lovely. That red and white tablecloth wow, it is so beautiful. I would love me one of those! I agree, the markets are very busy, but such a beautiful mix of colour, smell and sound. At one we went to there was a woman playing music along with some birds she had with her in a cage. Very different! Your little cakelets look very yummy! Putting them on my bucket list! Love all that you share! Hope you are having a lovely weekend! I suspect that you are. ♥ xoxo
