That never ending summer~has ended .Little tribute.

All our beautiful leaves are long gone now..yet this Spring I'll have to blow and rake again as some trees are very late to the party.

Our street is jus so beautiful in fall..and after a freshly fallen snow..

I feel I am lucky to live in such a cute town.Tilly calls it a Hallmark town.

I think that's a compliment.

During football season..my son-in-law's friend from high school..attends many of my grandsons football games..Mathieu..we find him so very nice..Jacques called him a Hallmark friend.

And he is right.A friend that only a Hallmark movie would have in it:)Fred is equally as nice towards Mathieu.I think they are very lucky.. 30 + +yrs into a great great friendship.

I'm coining Hallmark as an adjective.

And not in an artificial way:)

Our Littles just finished their football season with heart..courage and determination.

I applaud them.

I never thought I would be a nana that gets up and cheers or automatically starts crying when she sees one hurt.

This and that…

A couple of yrs ago..I feel I can mention it now.. why I was shy about it ..well that’s just me..a network company approached us to film a movie here.I guess they loved the town ..(they have filmed quite a few movies here) ..The gentleman that came to the door was super nice..said they had looked at it before..a Christmas movie..

As soon as my husband came to the door ..the man knew it was a no.

So this is how it works..

They have you sign agreements of course.

You are paid a handsome fee.

But you move out..egads.

And they kind of move in.

They pay hotel and such..

If you knew us you would know its was to be a hard no.

And it was covid.

For us to not live in our home with our creature comforts..  no..

I know it sounds funny.I have seen bloggers bend beautifully to this..even an ex agent I knew..

But ..no..

Nicest man though:)

We are true homebodies..possibly adventurous a few times in our 50 yrs together..lol..but 99% of the time...Creatures of habit;)

I am curious..would you do this?

I'll leave you with these..when the Littles were in fact Littles I used to make protein bites..I had a hankering to make some again.

These are really good..

They are from Give me some Oven  called No Bake Energy Bites.

Much better than those bars you can buy.

Really:)

Take care..

I guess next post will be a snowy scene..Hohoho.

  3. Your photographs are just beautiful! Your street and town are very charming. We have Geneva in Illinois which would be similar with lovely stately old homes, smaller cottages, beautiful gardens. They have a annual house walk usually around this time of years so the homes are decorated for the holidays. The lines are LONG. Then there is the town filled with inviting shops & restaurants. In answer to your question...no, I would not move out of my home even though the end result being fun. Years ago when my husband took a sabbatical from teaching at the University we had the opportunity to go to England. To save money on living expenses we could have exchanged homes with another family. I had heard too many "horror" stories so I refused to do that trade. I all worked out as we traveled to England many times with no worries about what is happening at home!

    1. I hear you Ga a home exchange would not be for us at all.Geneva sounds beautiful. This weekend a local young entrepreneur arranged a Christmas market and it was a huge success. She’s a young force to reckon with.

  4. Goodbye Autumn. Your photos are gorgeous. I love the changing color of the trees. How special to live in a so called “Hallmark town.” Your littles are not little any longer. Thank goodness no was is hurt. Football is such a violent sport.
I am not into sports at all. Kudos to you for cheering your grands on.
Protein balls sounds wonderful. As for the offer to move out of your home on a temporary basis, that is challenging. We are so attached to our homes 🏡 and then having strangers move in would be difficult. Probably a good decision.

    1. I have no regrets at having said no..lol plus you know how realtors now say depersonalize your home to sell?Ours would be a challenge🤣The sport is very violent.I cringe and cheer.
I’m not into sports either🤗Just them and their games💙

  6. I fall into the "no" camp when it comes to living in a hotel while strangers use our house. That's before even adding Covid to the mix! I used to enjoy baking and cooking a lot but somehow have gotten out of the habit. Thank you for inspiring me to dip a toe into the water again. So far I've tried the maple seasoning on my salmon, the roller-printed cookies and next up is the brown sugar pressed cookies. My press have just arrived!

  7. Your town is so charming this time of year.
So much color! I love your pictures.
How sweet that your home was selected for a movie. Would I do it? Only if they sent me to Hawaii with luxurious accommodations.

  8. Oh how beautiful it all is! I haven’t seen true fall colors in ages. I’m with you on the hard no! Our little plays soccer and Jim & I pace up and down the sidelines when he has a game. Makes me a nervous wreck!

  9. Oh, your beautiful fall color! It is snowing here today and seeing all the beautiful golds and wonderful leaves is just what I need -- I'm definitely not ready for snow. Not yet. I've used Hallmark as an adjective. (And Martha -- as in "that's a very Martha-looking wreath"). Sometimes it just fits! Talk about owning the brand! Interesting about the thought of using your home for a movie. I'm not sure I'd feel great about that. Strangers living in the house, me being in a hotel? And during Covid? Not on a bet! Now, if they wanted to include it in a drive-by or external shot, that might be different. But not move out. Nope. I know your grands love that you are there to cheer them on!

  10. Your fall colours are (were) gorgeous, Monique! I doubt that we would move out of our home, too. I love my home comforts far too much for that.
You're a wonderful Nana to attend all those football games! For us, it's soccer that's coming up on the horizon.
Enjoy the snow when it comes!

  13. I can't believe I just found this in my email. My blog emails had built up to enormous unread proportions - LOL. Many bloggers I know are now on IG. Most I only comment on there now - you are an exception. ♥ Anyway, cleaned out my emails today and here I am - LOL. You do do live in a Hallmark town, a Hallmark street, Hallmark home, Hallmark hobbies, etc., etc., I feel the same about here where we live. Our sanctuary I call it. It would have had to be an enormous sum to want to move out. During Covid? Never. I'm sure it wasn't for just a week or two either. Too stressful at that awful time in our lives. I've been craving granola, oatmeal cookies, etc. Those bites look wonderful!! Bravo to your hardworking grandsons on their football season.

  14. It would be a hard no from me as well Monique. I like my little home and ain’t nobody going to budge me from it! I agree, your town is a Hallmark kind of town from what I have seen. My father was through there a number of years back and he says beautiful. I would cry too if I saw my grands getting hurt in a football game. Such a rough sport! You are brave to watch! I bet they love your power balls! Xoxo ~Marie
