Such a pretty yet not prime time..yet.

We still have a long time till prime..
The grass is still fragile and yellow at spots and honestly we have more weeds than grass..Pesticide free community.
My backyard tulips ..the buds were bitten off by Buds Bunny:(
I bought Safer's Critter Ridder and it seems to have worked for the front ones.
I would like to plant more daffodils next yr:)
I can't say I have beautiful gardens.
I have many..but I grow for edibles and for photography too..not just harmonious gardens.
So a garlic bed is not eye candy except for me..same with certain poppy areas. And other things..
I am hoping and wishing and hoping my seeds work.
Some seeds we collect ourselves are not viable.
Fingers crossed.
I am seeing signs of life :) Encouraging.
I did buy some too..so my morning walks are looking everywhere for signs of life..
Not yet..
Why is it that when I start gardening gung ho..so many steps and bending and weeding etc..I gain weight?
Tell me.
Silver hair..  dirty nails..  rounder..this I guess is almost 70.

LOL.
I was thinking of doing something..nothing plastic surgery etc..  and my 14 yr old grandson Noah said..

What's the point now?
Oh he made me laugh..He's the firecracker.
He went on to say..I mean..you're married..you have your children and grandchildren..why now?

This is my journal to remember things so..I am jotting some personal things down too.
Hoping I don't bore you;)
And no its not the madeleines the weight gain..lol I eat one.

Have a a good Mother's day if you have a mom..or are a mom..or know a mom.
I hated it for yrs..being the only one I knew without a mom.

C'est la vie.

  1. Noah has a point. And a wonderful way of getting right to the point! I love your bumps -- well done. I might have to get your madeleine recipe. I love mine and I get bumps -- but not THAT big! And I think I need to add hellebores to my garden. I'm wondering if they are perennials. I'm all for perennials. I dread Mother's Day every year. You'd think it would end with grands. It doesn't. I just want my mom. Oui. C;est la vie.

    1. Hellebores are perennials and I think you have the perfect zone..land..Oh my grands healed Mother's Day for me in a big way..But all my life I have missed her.I used to write stories about her..a live..and then when she passed.
One time my letter won her a weekend away:) They read it on the radio:)
I was sooo happy for her:) The most unspoiled mom..who deserved so much more..
Life is full circle tough and I have very adult daughters..46..and almost 48.And we go away for 24 hrs..sleepover..lunch..dinner..shopping and they make me laugh my heart out. I am reconsidering Noah's comment having just been with my daughters:)

  2. Lovelier and more more as I descended that photo staircase of your days---all the needfuls, feasts for eyes and mouth and even ear (aren't Grandson jokes the BEST?). Those unaccustomed hellebores (I had to consult your small flower sampler---even Whitman's candy has no such surfeit) are of a color a lady of your generation would probably not recognize---it was all the rage in the Nineties before last, when long skirts and Worth fashions and even bustles were tres chic. It was called Ashes of Roses, with the pale grey to temper the blushes of pink---isn't that a lovely thought? Immolated and still so beautiful they sing. I wish you and all yours Bon fete des meres and blossoms all the way. rachel

  6. Noah is hilarious! I imagine he loves you just the way you are. I was thinking of injectables, like juvaderm to bring back some volume. It can last up to two years in the cheek area. Your garden is always lovely. Love the flower 🌺 mood board.
I have yet to make the madeleines, I have the pan. I want to plant more daffodils near our front driveway gate. I hope you have a fabulous Mother’s Day.

  11. Oh how I love spending time looking at your lovely photos that capture the beauty of flowers and nature around us. I'm not a photographer, but it is what inspired me to start a blog 15 years ago -- the simple beauty that surrounds us. Blessings wished for you and yours, Roz

  13. Let me try again to leave a comment. My comments seem to be disappearing. I am not sure what is up with that! Its very frustrating! I think Noah is very smart. You are beautiful just as you are. Both inside and out. I wish I could be only half as pretty as you are, that would be a bonus! Your photos are always so beautiful. The art, the flowers, the food, all superb! I just know you had a beautiful Mother's Day. You are such a treasure! xoxo

  14. I could have sworn I left a comment here but maybe I was thinking of IG! Nothing better than a day in your beautiful garden followed by a cup of tea and Madeleines! I love the cup you put the violets in with the charming String of Pearls as an accent. So artistic!
