This is my last post.Thank you so much to all the lovely people I have corresponded with these more than twenty years.
I am 71,I have no room in my tender heart for being bullied in my own space.
With Blogger you cannot block a commenter you can only moderate.Problem is ..I still see the incessant bullying of one person.
I delete delete delete and you don't see the comments but I do.
Ive tried o share tips,recipes, good sites,things I love.
You make it an honor to continue and not give up.
The world is changing.
My husband always said you have the nicest readers.
I did.
The personal notes, not published here have been heartwarming.
So again thank you.
My subscriber account is not working which adds to the disillusionment of blogging.
But the true reason.. just read the last comment from anonymous that I have published. This was he second comment on just this post.
Encore une fois..Merci pour toutes ces belles années.
Monique
Things are popping up every day.. it makes me realize just how quickly time is flying by..
Your dahlias are fantastic. And I see scones with currants in your future -- perhaps some to go to your generous currant benefactor! Every image, as usual is a gem. Don't stay away too long from the blog. I'll miss you!
ReplyDeleteYou are sweet:) I think with the intruder and my posts no longer being delivered by Mail Chimp.. the time has come..I can't even send the blog to my subscribers lol..Not even J so ap 450 people don't get the posts more often than not.Thank you..I will keep seeing you though:). If I had a better way of getting my posts to my subscribers.I would absolutely keep doing it.
DeleteWELL, YOU'RE HERE!! and that is a sunny boon this second-cloudy day, no matter the "monkey Business" in the works. And your colours and flowers and that queenly tuteur and especially the strolls at dusk---those are the delicious moments of a garden, with the sunny work and the hot weeding and all the tending done, and just the breath of evening to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAnd even in all the rain of plenty you've shown, the DAL-Yers are such a jolt from the past---those were my Mammaw's pride, sometimes before her ROSES and that was saying a lot. She had a correspondence with Park and Burpee all through the 50s and 60s over colors of dahlias---her "mawve" was the starting point, and she branched out into paler and paler varieties as the years flew. (Her competition for who could breed the lightest marigold was just a little side play). I can just see a clutch of those dahlias in a neighbor's hand or quart jar or wadded wet newspaper, headed to arrange them with some of her own Queen Anne's Lace and Baby's Breath because it was her Sunday to "do the flowers" at church.
And Mammaw herself was carried out of the church and out to the "old Home Place" cemetery beneath a blanket of roses and dahlias-brought-in-from-I-don't-know-where. I wished that her big old Dinner Plate Mauves were already blooming. Your own delicate shades are reminiscent of the perfect bridesmaid's dress for a Spring wedding, the tulle falling softly and catching an evening breeze.
Do stay COOL these July days!
So hot here.Love the memories you have of your mom and her darlingahs:)Flowers do pay a part of our memories..We only had a garden at one home with my mom..not my first in the city but the second..the last one in the suburbs..Bt ever so slight.Money was scarece..she had a few roses..and planted ortulaca at the front.. a small patch by the driveway.I will never forget them:)
DeleteI adored her.
Each day is different in the garden and summer is speeding along. I'm glad your dahlias are blooming :-)
ReplyDeleteMe too!!
DeleteIt's a miracle that you're able to dress yourself every morning, much less navigate MailChimp.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this. I keep deleting your comments.I am leaving this one.You have won.I am finished with blogging because of you.The world is a different place now with people like you.If I could block you I would have continued.Allways remember in your mind's eye.You took this pleasure away from me.It was a place that had such an importance for me for twenty plus years.I was quite ill at one time.. and with breaks ,pushed through and this blog and it's kind people helped me tremendously to get better.
DeleteYou are the bully in the schoolyard, the bully in the workforce, the bully to the ordinary person.
You are not a nice person.
