Whodathought?
Today I was ..again bowled over..by infinite charm..in driving through my little town..
We had to go to our new Costco..for an eye exam for Jacques..
I went along and said I would wait in the book department..
we thought 20 minutes max..
it was 45..
I roamed the aisles..and met a fave person..my hairdresser♥
And another girl:)..I have "seen" known for years..and lately it seems everywhere we are..we bump into each other.
We are never at a loss for words..she is bubbly and energetic and so well traveled ..and creative..and I feel as if we have really known each other for years:)
The 45 minutes flew by:)
I cannot imagine a better 45 minutes in Costco apart from when I used to go w/ my daughter and her 3 boys when she did not work outside her home..
Thank you J..for real conversation:)
We both appreciate every view..every glance ..here and there where we live.
When we came home..I thought:"Oh just go..go see"~
And I did..I got in my own car and spent a little while driving 5 minutes away..
And repeated in my head what I told Jacques the whole way out today.
We live in Paradise.
And then..I bumped into a dear dear girl..and met her dear dear friend..
and we chatted..she.. her friend and I..and we all agreed..this is paradise..
we all have different definitions in life.. for value.. regarding paradise ..the beach can be paradise for me.. a quiet beach.. snow ..w/ it's sparkles and my snowshoes or x-counrty skis can be paradise.
May! With it's greens and ferns and sprouts..
A sleepover w/ my Littles..
a dinner with la familia..
but Autumn..
it's as if it's in neon lights..for all to see..
but usually you feel solitary ..as if the magnificent show was for you and you alone.
To be grateful.No matter what.
And all day in my head...
this song kept playing..but about people and autumn.
♥
Im sure you live in paradise Monique :)
ReplyDeleteThes epictures are absolutely awesome. I love autunm !!
Is my favorite season!
We all think we do:) And that is wonderful..our interpretations..vary and that's what makes this world a great great place.
DeleteWe are fortunate..you and I and all our blogger friends.
I am well aware that not everyone lives in paradise.:(
I feel the same way :) We are so lucky to have such glorious views and so close to home. I'm not looking forward to winter but it does have its beauty and tranquility. It's funny, I just posted some gold too! I love that song - every word. It feels good to feel that way. Our new nearby Coscto opens in just over a week - I can't wait. Maybe I'll meet my hairdresser there too :) I know I will run into more people I know because it will be only 10 minutes from here. You have to tell me what kind of snowshoes you have. I tried renting some once and my hips hurt for a week afterward trying to hold my legs apart enough apart so the snowshoes didn't hit each other. I LOVE that stone house with the golden umbrella over it!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could post so many homes from here but am reticent..while I was chatting w/Janice she mentioned that too ..and I agree..
Deletebut it's for sale..on the internet..so I took a side view;)
The golden umbrellas are resplendant.
There are pros and cons about a close Costco..
Leggings.. fleece lined..oh my happy legs..w/ long sweaters all winter:)
I will have to check the snowshoes...they are in the attic..I did not see any today there..I saw.. you know..those ice grip things for boots..but no snowshoes..
You made me smile re your hairdresser:)
I met her husband..he adores her..I could see:)
I think you will like snowshoeing..my thighs keep my showshoes apart;)
You will be fine..these are more streamlined..great exercise for stadium stair climbing;)
I truly enjoy it..you warm up and it's like being on the sea..the diamond sparkles♥
So pretty Monique. I'm glad you didn't wait till you had a recipe to share your photos.
ReplyDeleteYour fall is as resplendant right? But a little later?
DeleteI think we all have our own little paradise....in different ways...yours is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to bump into people....and chat....happens to me all the time!
Even people I don't know! Gosh...I am a chatterbox!
Lovely photos for sure...I hate to think tomorrow's wind will strip the trees of their splendour...
Boyfriend went down to check the cottage....she will be hit pretty hard :o(
Stay safe Monique...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
We do have our own little spots:) So so grateful.
DeleteHope all stays well there..do you have a name for your cottage?
It needs one♥
We named it "Beautiful"
DeleteAnd so it is❤️
DeleteQue maravilla, que preciosidad.

This time of year..on a sunny day♥
DeleteYour photos leave me gasping at the beauty. You do live in paradise :) Sounds like Costco is the place to be seen! I am feeling very lucky these days and hope to find just one gorgeous yellow tree like yours! Have a wonderful week :)
ReplyDeleteI want you to find one..:)
DeleteI know that's one thing about having a local Costco..I am getting reserved w/ age..but I must say..it has been a pleasure bumping into the people I have..
Absolutely beautiful! The older I get, them more I seem to enjoy the lovely colors of fall.
ReplyDeleteMe too..they can bring me to tears.
Gros bisous ❀ ♡ ❀
Tu as complètement raison..the best things in life are free:)
DeleteWow, your fall colors are amazing. We still have all our leaves on and no color, which means they will drop in the snow and cause a mess! Crazy.
ReplyDeleteI always meet everyone in Costco too! More fun than the samples!
This fall is different also..all the reds came before..and left..so really our views are golds and ambers and rust..yellows and still lime greens..I love that this have been a different spectacular fall.
DeleteJust today I noticed that we are seeing some color. Our leaves turn golden, but not the blazing bright like yours. Autumn is my favorite time of year. It's such a relief after the long hot summer. Our weekend was grey and rainy, but the start of the week is beautiful with blue sunny skies and cool temps. I'm happy you spent your day taking in all the beauty. You do live in Paradise!
ReplyDeleteIn February..sometimes I don't think so:) on a bitter cold freezing rain icy minus 90F day..:)
DeleteWowwwwww what a beautiful autumn pictures...have a Nice day...love Ria x
ReplyDeleteYou too Ria..
DeleteYes, to be grateful no matter what. But when the What is as beautiful as Autumn in northern North American, well, then, so much gratitude! And yes, gratitude for friends and enthusiastic people!
ReplyDeleteAnd~Monique, I feel like I just returned from Paradis too, except it was a city paradis, Québec. The ride up through the Maine mountains was just lovely. PS I made a silent toast to you with my latté at Paillard!
:):):)
DeleteI love that you took the time to do that.I love that little place...well not so little..thanks to you we discovered it..oh I bet the journey was so scenic!
What about the tomato soup in the upper rt. corner?
ReplyDeleteI could go for some of that rt. now!!
I just saw the first Autumnal leaves with color in Paris.
Should I move to Canada?
If you do..it would have to be the city..:) I am afraid this small town would bore you to tears after a long weekend..but ..there is an artists society..they would adore you and would make friends in an instant.
DeleteThe soup is fabricated:)
You do live in paradise. We do too. The world is a beautiful place. I love your celebration of Autumn.
ReplyDeleteWe are the lucky ones..:)
DeleteIt's like a magic moment... to discover thoses colors from autumn... thanks for those nice pictures. Christine
ReplyDeleteLa magie s'atténue..il pleut ..il pleut..il pleut et les feuilles tombent et s'envolent comme un petit ouragan:(
DeleteIt is beautiful there Monique. Our trees are just turning yellow. It rained earlier and the acorns are falling on top of the house. The sun is trying to break through and our day will be cool. I do love this time of year.
ReplyDeleteIt's literally POURING rain and leaves right now..Jacques blew so many..and they are all back..he's got so much courage.
Deleteso beautiful and magical your little town, thanks for sharing it today. autumn is just such a special time of year.
ReplyDeleteToday is the opposite..swirls of wet leaves blowing around w/ loads of rain..c'est la vie..Autum and it's multiple charms..
DeleteI have to enjoy fall vicariously through your stunning photos Monique --- we've got nothing but sun here :/
ReplyDeleteAww..poor you;)
DeleteYou must always be UP..sunshine is so good for the spirit..everything is technicolor then.
What a wonderful post Monique, your pictures are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey are so ordinary compared to real life..:)
DeleteThanks Cheri!
Gorgeous photos of your town and countryside. I never tire of looking at the trees, flowers and scenery on a Autumn day. Sometimes we take things for granted and seeing these beautiful photos make me appreciate how beautiful Mother Nature is.
ReplyDeleteI am the same:)
DeleteI can not get enough of these colors, so happy, feel romantic also-)))
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Yelena
You're so cute:)
DeleteI feel sentimental..;)
Such beautiful pictures, reminding me of the town I left several months ago - and I do miss it! It's always good to be reminded that life is full of joy and beauty, always, merci so much.
ReplyDeleteWait till I remind of of snow at doors and windows..and shovling..I promise I will remind you:)
DeleteYouare in your beauty spot now:)
Sounds like a perfect day. The autumn display is fantastic. I love taking photos of the large trees standing under them with the blue sky or sunlight peeking through. And then to meet up with old and new friends, a perfect day. BTW I like your photo painting.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing which paint set..s you decide on:)
DeleteI wish I knew which lens you need to get to the top of the tree:)
iPad.
DeleteYour photographs are quite simply stunning Monique, but I love your words even more. You are such a tender heart and a treasure to anyone who is lucky enough to know you. I cannot imagine any world or place you inhabit not being beautiful. Love and hugs always. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh..trust me Marie..
DeleteRemember..I show the best parts of the gardens..my successes in the kitchen..the weeds..the failures..even in my persona..are in my cache:)

Bisous xoxoxo
You do too..:)you are!
DeleteI knew without even looking at the song, that it would be THAT song. I love it, too and it always brings tears to my eyes also. It has been a glorious Fall here in Colorado, and I am sorry to see it end. We had out first heavy frost this week.Enjoyed your paradise!
ReplyDeleteWe had our first heavy frost too..where the cars were all frosted!
DeleteSuch a beautiful song..that everyone gets:)
You do live in paradise, and fall is such a beautiful season.
ReplyDeleteI love that song too!
I know that November is usually a fun month for you too :-)
I know you have paradise there too!
DeleteIt's autumn that I always feel I need to soak up the most of! Thanks you for sharing hour lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
So pretty..all New England..all the states and provinces that benefit from this..
Deletebut we pay for it;)
Beautiful photos! We just went up to Lake Geneva to see the colors, gorgeous this year all around! It's definitely cooler now and I'm ready for summer!
ReplyDeleteYou're ready for summer? Already? LOL.
ReplyDeleteMais tu as tellement d'autres merveiles:)
DeleteGoodness, these photos are lovely.
