Climbed up the water spout
Down came the rain
And washed the spider out
Out came the sun
And dried up all the rain
And the itsy-bitsy spider
Climbed up the spout again..
Happily..some rain fell.. some rain fell..happily:)
I am certain grass and gardens were rejoicing last Thrursday when the skies finally opened up and the rain fell..everything was crunchy..and parts of the grass looked a bit like straw.
so rain ..here was a welcome relief..unlike other parts of the world..
where just too much rain had been falling.
absolutely beautiful Monique like always !!!
ReplyDeleteThan you Gloria..nature's work!
DeleteOh my word, your garden is beautiful! Love that urn/planter with the purple flowers in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteI love it too
DeleteA dear client gave it to me when he moved many many years ago.
I love gardens..see why I am enchanted over your new fenced ones?:)
June is busting' out all over.... at your house Monique. Doesn't look like there is much to tend to there as it already looks filled in and beautiful. We were having rainy weather too and cooler temps, then the rains stopped and it has been ninety degrees. Knew it was coming but I'm not happy about the heat.
ReplyDeleteJune bursts!
DeleteHeat..that kind of heat is tiring..I hear you!
Gorgeous photos. We are a little sick of rain in France.
ReplyDeleteThat song makes me think of when my then-little one would call it "Bitsy Bitsy." Sigh. Goes by in the blink of an eye.
I know ..Paris..many areas of France too much rain..will talk about in a future post..yes my grandchildren have even outgrown the itsy bitsy spider.
DeleteGorgeous garden ❤️
ReplyDeleteTy:)Not everywhere..promise!
DeleteOh sigh. Your photos are so very lovely. I think we'll see a little rain here this weekend, hopefully in the middle of the night so we can enjoy the day! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou too Jeanie!
DeleteI now will be humming this all day! And thinking of when my kids acted it out! Such beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteThat happens to me too..I' ll read lyrics..and they stay in my head !
DeleteSuch freshness...such a variety of flowers and foliage!! Don't they just love the rain! I could spend all day painting and sketching there!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could paint my flowers!
DeleteI am going to practice a lot this summer:)
I see your GARLIC coming on. Very exciting. I loved "Brooklyn" the movie, have not read the book yet... in the stacks.
ReplyDeleteTurns out I saw the movie ..so I put the book aside!
DeleteWe had another rain last evening, but it didn't last long. It's been a wet spring here, and it's been welcomed. I'm not ready for the dry, hot days ahead, but they have arrived. It's eleven pm here, and it's 82 F. Too warm for early June!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, and the little song is a favorite. '-)
I have been thinking about you..I bet your gardens are even more amazing now:)
DeleteThe garden looks like it is no worse for lack of rain. It is as beautiful as your artwork and recipes. I have to try to check my garlic to see if the scapes are forming. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour graduate is beautiful and adorable.I have been absent..will write more soon soon.
DeleteI read your latest news. How exciting!
DeleteOh you may get bored:) I tend to go on and on as you well know;)
DeleteYour garden is amazing. I want to be that talented with growing things. You have inspired me Monique.
ReplyDeleteI really am not talented and if I had to do them over..the gardens..I would do things differently.
DeleteOur gardens need primping..I used to French braid my daughters hair:) I think I French braid our gardens..at this time of year if we are away..we come home and it looks abandoned..
shouldn't be that way:)
But thank you for saying that:)
Weather has been a wild ride here also with rain, wind and thunder after a long dry spell. Yesterday and today, HOT and we have friends coming for an al fresco dinner tonight. I may have to plug in a fan outside to keep cool (or take a dip in the pool) :) Oh La La, that yellow tulip! And green is a thing of beauty after the monotones of winter. Can't wait to see your next post :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a peony!
DeleteAbout 6 years ago..my friend at work..Luc.. his wife worked at quite famous peony gardens here..and one day he came to work w/ 6 seedlings..not bigger than a whisper..and he said..that it would take years to see blooms..he was right..I planted them all in my circular bed..and 4 will flower this year..unfortunately a football;) landed on one..and she won't be back till next year and that's w/ fingers crossed..
I know you will have a beautiful evening!
I know it.
Tooo much rain falling here today Monique! Our drive up to Chorley was pretty uneventful and we had a great morning, but the skies opened on the way back and it was very difficult to see on the Motorway! I was so glad to finally be home. I could have kissed the ground! Your garden is beautiful rain or shine! xoxo
ReplyDeleteMarie...I will ahve a little story..have to prepare it..we have been away..and although I saw magnificent sights..I could have kissed the ground when we got home..Home..is everything.
Deleteso beautiful all of it but i really love the lilac and birdbath and everything looking so refreshed, you can just feel it by looking at your photos :)
ReplyDeleteIt needs refreshing now..big time! Thanks Jenni..hope all is well:)And that you are enjoying lovely weather and painting up a storm:)
DeleteYou've been busy keeping that yard so pretty! We had a lot of rain for a spell, now it's hot and dry. Rain would be nice.
ReplyDeleteIt rain..but hardly anything today..the gardens need major work..but rain is in the forecast for tomorrow..Monday maybe..:)
DeleteYour garden is beautiful. Sometimes the garden is prettiest after a rainfall-something we desperately need in So. Cal.
ReplyDeleteOften the gardens are so much prettier after a rainfall..I find drought makes a garden look older..comme moi:)
DeleteThank you Esme..I thought of you this week!
Your garden looks so lovely and lush green. All the photos are beautiful. We've had a week of hot sunshine and now we're forecast to have a week of rain. Not our usual June weather.
ReplyDeleteNothing seems to be the norm..as I type it is 59 F here!
DeleteBeautiful gardens and your art of photography really showcases them. Magazine worthy and I am sure truly beautiful to admire each and everyday.
ReplyDeleteNothing..like yours:)
DeleteWhat a lush, beautiful garden, Monique! Our gardens love a good rainfall this time of year.
ReplyDeleteIt needs so much affection right now!!
DeleteMonique, Your gardens look so gorgeous! Green and color everywhere!! Wish we could get some of that rain too, we need it here in San Diego. Amazing photos always!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Jody
