♥Fall on your knees gorgeous fall 2019.

Roasted Butternut Squash Soup~

Seasons And Suppers Cranberry Almond Cake~

The She~ Shed's flower boxes and pots are emptied..The crabapples is void of leaves..little crabapples hang like cranberries..

Fine Cooking's Chocolate Cheesecake

Finished Max's blanket so now the 3 brothers have their own blanket:)♥

School and football team colors:)

Oli's Face..makes me happy..he is one happy sweet sunshiney Little.Everything becomes a football in his hands..even Spongebob;)

Fall is wrapping up so beautifully..I could only get started here on you know what?
The stores are mixed up they have Halloween and Christmas out.I only have eyes for Christmas..and have started a few things..
My excitement last year at finding this vintage skating pond w/ music on Varage Sale..was palpable♥
It's ready:)And it works..The Happy Winter Village Skalting Pond~I'll add things from our Christmas Village:) Of course..;)

Somewhere deep inside..you can be 65 and have a corner that can be a child at heart.

In the entertainment world..

I needed a quick show to watch every morning and picked Queer Eye.
Let me just say when I will be finished all the episodes..I will miss the show.
I cry at almost every show.
Some get to me more than others.

And have you started Modern Love ? I am undecided..and then the episode ends and I am still thinking about it..a good sign..I like it more than J does.
Anne Hathaway's episode..she's very good in it..the beginning is so far fetched it seems and musical..and then the plot deepens and you see how very good an actress she is:)
We're not talking rocket science..

But it's good enough for me.

When Oli was over we watched Nanny McPhee 1..and Nanny McPhee2..is in progress..Maggie Gyllehhall is in it..wow..compared to The Deuce..what a character change..The Deuce is not for everyone..at all at all at all.

This Is Us is back..is it as good as before? Not sure..yet..
The Affair is getting crazier..
We stopped Succession..OMG good acting but so boring...all that boring business talk and same expressions over and over again.
Do I watch tv all day? NEVER.
40 mins in the morning for a reason..and 1.5 hrs before bed at night.
Unbelievable was very good..
Mindhunters too!
Just in case winter makes you crave TV..
;)
Have a good end of fall:)

It's winding down here w/ rain and wet and I HAVE to garden in this today because I caved and a young man is coming over to help me at noon..we'll see.
I just can't rip out old..and chop old..when I can feel old some days..
making Xmas things and baking and painting is so much easier;)

  2. Another gorgeous post, Monique. I'm so enjoying the beautiful colors of autumn after all the summer pastels and the cooling weather and the root vegetables coming to the market. It really is the nicest time of year.

  3. What lovely fall photos! My favorite, of course, is Oli :) What a handsome, happy-looking boy! I wish I could say that our fall has been gorgeous...a few days here and there but we've had more than our share of rainy, gloomy, windy days. I haven't held a golf club in a month so it hasn't been golf weather, at least not for me :) Soup, chocolate cheesecake and Madeleines with tea, that's all I would need and be very happy. What a sweet vintage skating pond. You have found so many wonderful things at your varage sales. I have been watching Modern Love and enjoy it, not for John though. I liked the one with the doorman. This is Us, The Durrells in Corfu, only for me also. We still like to watch The Voice, Blue Bloods, Blacklist, and we're watching old episodes of Boston Legal on Amazon. More hilarious than I remembered the first time around :) Good luck with your helper! We've had a wonderful young man this year. He's been coming once a week for a couple of hours. He's been a lifesaver!

      The doorman:)

      He..Oli.. is just soo easy.
      And still so young.♥For now.

So..Eli came for 2 hours.. at noonish..as soon as he rang the bell..(I was out already)..Jacques said he knew we would be a good match.
I reserved him for a yr from now..and will ask in the Spring.
      So nice and polite.

      I am grateful.
A job shared is so much lighter..as I did one bed..he was in another.. no digging..just chopping and raking onto a tarp but with all my beds..this was just so nice for me.
      Like I said..grateful:)♥

      Have a great weekend Pea!
I wish J liked The Voice:)

How did it go with your garden helper? Good for you!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cloudy and damp...no cottage this weekend....perhaps a day trip on Monday...
Your Oli is a cutie pie💙
    Have a great weekend!
I’m working on Christmas prezzies too!😉
    Cheers!

    1. Oh Linda..I can't tell you how much I appreciated Eli.
I reserved him for next year and hope to call upon him in Spring.
He's so nice..polite,calm..to me.. we worked in perfect harmony.
I did one bed..he did another..and we did others and others.. even hostas got chopped..sometimes I just let them rot..
After he left I found a huge wasp nest hanging where I went all summer!!
Grateful I did not get stung:)

Thought about you so many times today..
Should I stick some datura seeds in pots outside now?

I know you are making GORGEOUS Christmas prezzies!!

      Chop chop..:)

I still have stuff to do..but this last stretch w/ next week not looking great was weighing upon me..

So the beds..apart from my ugly driveway stretch that I would like to asphalt:) Are done.

      Still leaves galore..

  6. Dear Monique,
So absolutely perfect your post. Full of color, perfume and flavor.
    I love your crochet blanket.
Here, today, we had an unexpectedly hot day that left a threatening storm in the air.
It's autumn in all its splendor.

  7. Lovely images of fall. So pretty at your place.
I've seen 5 episodes of Modern Love. I liked the 1st best, the 2nd was good and the Anne Hathaway I did not like until the end. What a good friend her co-worker became.

  8. Every image is like a special present! All so beautiful, and capped off by Oli's adorable face! The baking -- yum. Time for madelines. Usually I make lemon; I'll have to try the orange. Isn't it one of the most beautiful falls in recent years? I find every tree beautiful. We had a lot of wind and rain last night and I've not been out yet today to see if everything blew away, but I have to admit, it all it totally gorgeous! Have a lovely rest of the weekend, my friend!

  9. Dearest Monique,
In your region the Autumn colors no doubt will be fabulous!
Your knack for working with baked goods that are in season and for cooking some soul food for family and loved ones is great. Also your Christmas skating figures will be fabulous for the grands to admire.
As for TV shows, I have not watched any in decades. That was one of the positive side affects from having to travel all over the world and letting go of it completely. Never have been back to them; just no time for it.
Both of us never had to be entertained anyway. A good book or some writing is sufficient, with some music and soul food or baked goods to indulge on.
We had a lovely wedding in the mountains in Tennessee. The day that I drove the seven hours was initially bliss and joyful but then it turned into five hours of heavy rain. Made it safe to our cabin and that has been blissful too, before and after the wedding. Hope to enjoy some more autumn leaves when going more north...
    Hugs,
    Mariette

I have heard that today'syoung people are known as Alphas and some schools will have counseling for Ipad..I phone etc..addicts:(

That to me is so sad.
How can you appreciate the beauty of nature if you do not step foot outside w/out devices.
I am so grateful that mostly everything that surrounds me..I find quite lovely.Small little things:)
      Have a great week Mariette!

  12. There is so much to love here Monique. Always. Your "She-shed". I have always loved it. I could happily live in it. It is so charming. The autumn colours and that wee pumpkin, the statuary (how beautiful), the skeleton dog and bags of leaves (You've been busy!), the typewriter, that gorgeously delicious looking soup, crabapples and cakes, cheesecakes and beautiful blankets (a real labour of love I know!), and Oli . . . what can I say. Oli makes me smile. I can't wait to see your Christmas Village all set up with the skaters on the pond. Its so sweet and of course your madeleines. They are perfection. You have captured October beautifully with the lens of your camera. I wish I was as talented with my camera as you are with yours! Love all that you share with us. You are a Canadian treasure! xoxo
