I loved my Crayolas..my Prismacolors..

The only thing that changed..the supplies..I still love playing with art supplies;)

I discovered Roisin Cure on Instagram..and have been stalking her:)

I finally clicked in to a zoom class after purchasing her book..It arrived end of December so perfect timing.

I loved it ...

I took a second class:)

Faces..

These are the only 3 I can show..they are in her book and we draw along with her..

Again I loved the class but I need practice..

Visibly

So I sent this to Caroline..Fred took this pic of Oli ..we had bumped into them..12 ft apart on the golf course and I asked Fred to take a pic..feeling cocky with my new class.

OHLALA..I will practice tons..before trying new things..

I had attached the note to Caroline..Didn't want to scare Oli.

I took a pic through our widow of "pops" and his two boys..

Roisin can paint true to life portraits..botanicals..etc but her first love I think is Urban Sketching..quick..expressive..to make memories..That's one of the things I love to do..

I like practicing things from fave books too.

I hope this shows you that ANYONE can paint.Sincerely and seriously. And the materials to start with are not expensive.

Just have fun.

You don't have to paint perfectly to get a memory saved.

Sinceriously:)

Above fabulous No-Knead Olive Bread..Sinceriously easy!

You can find the recipe here..

So this is how we go for a walk..  here..

Does this look normal to you? Grandad is ahead of Lucas so more than 6 ft separate them OUTSIDE.

All you entitled people ..not wearing masks getting together..in groups..

I am not impressed.
I've  not hugged my family since March..we've not been in each their homes since March.

Get it?

Why can you go on vacations? Get together?

Jump in cars together no masks..

I saw Bruce Willis shopping NO MASK.

I saw a video of Sylvester Stallone IN his home w/ AL Pacino as a guest..NO masks..Guy Fieri cooking for them.

So impressed.

If you want a distraction from all that is wrong right now..

I recommend..

I loved the first epi and look forward to them all.

I mean I still like Your Honor..lol..

but this is an escape to pure bliss.

The cinematography..the cast..the cute animals..the beautiful countryside..

It's Call The Midwife for animals I said to J..:)

  2. Dear Ms. Masque Police,
I bet those celebs get tested hourly.
Yr new work is lovely. And that olive bread...maim miam Dont let anger get in the way of your superb creative powers cherié.
Granted yesterday I did tell a woman And her young daughter that their masks had tombé under le nez/nose. I said It as I was about to get off in case of a physical altercation.
    She yelled MERDE at me.
I should have responded “Merci beaucoup, três gentille Mme” instead of mumbling merde back to you too under my breath.. Next time!
Once off the bus the driver saluted me! I felt quite the hero :))

    1. Hmm I think all of us obeying rules are angry at maskholes.
They are delaying everything and causing deaths. Our hositals are overflowing..Doctors..nurses are begging..people to obey.I find the belligerent ones spoiled brats.I saw a woman on Tik Tok arguing vehemently with staff that she would NOT put on her mask..you know one of those..her boyfriend..masked ..she literally brought the employee to tears.I left a commenet calling her a spoiled brat..my typo wrote soiled brat..lol.
I wrote on Sly Stallones too saying I hoe the pic was from 2 yrs ago.
It's in the example ..it's in the example.
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes..as bad examples do too.IMHO.
Seems like a valid reason to let myself get a bit off;)

Most of the time..I just get quiet .
Walk away from confrontation..or nastiness..but in this case..I am like a bulldog.
      I get quiet.
      I get very quiet.

  6. What a great way to spend time at home. Learning something new is always fun and what lovely results you've had. I am so angry with those who flaunt the rules, especially those who left the country after telling us all to stay home!

I don't care if I appear vehement re rule breakers..We watched President Biden in Delaware yesterday(Canadians are up to date:)))His speech was all about masks and I quote"For God's Sake wear your masks!".
I think learning is just a must if we can...Have a good weekend.

  7. All Creatures Great and Small, one of the best programs to come out this past year. I was able to watch them all before I came back to Canada and loved each one. What are you watching them on now? I would love to watch again without the distraction that was my life this past autumn. Love LOVE your paintings, always. I love that you are always learning and stretching. I need to do the same. I love Your Honor as well. I have just finished episode three. I watch on the laptop in my room. I am hooked. I find it very frustrating to see so many people not taking any restrictions at all or showing any boundaries. Me, I had not been out of my house since March when I left to come back to Canada except for medical appointments. Even now, we see no-one, except for our father but we are lucky here in Nova Scotia so far, especially in the valley. We take no chances. I would so love to see all of my family but that will have to wait. Bonne Weekend a tois! xoxo

    1. PBS All Creatures..
Jacques and my girls liked Yellowstone and I am finally into it.
Will watch Bridgerton on my own.
      2 more Your Honor🌟
In my small town we are fortunate too..but so careful.
I have found through the years that distraction is key to many things..and I am making up for all my working years I guess when I wondered what stay at home people did..now I know.🙂
Gorgeous out but still no power.......oy that’s one thing I still get uncomfortable with since our ice storm...

  8. Faces are so hard but you're doing very well already! I love any pic of the boys that you paint ♥ How wonderful you were able to walk together. Such a shame about all the separation :( At least walking you can see each other, talk, it's better than nothing at all. But the hugs! I don't know how they are filming these shows! The actors must be under strict rules that they must isolate and follow just to be together on sets. I remember one country singer being banned from an SNL episode because he broke the guidelines. No word yet on shots for us here either :( Still no power? You must be freezing!

    1. Power came back after 4 .5 hrs..the generator keeps the sunroom warm w/ heater..love that thing..wish it was central..so much work for J..Well our policeman son in law said you cant even walk w/ peeps outside your bubble now:(My bubble is small it's J.So that's it..no more..yet the ski hills..are full..someone's got to tell us the right thing..This is getting long...I'm fine and then I think about all the wasted time..all the tragedies..oh you know Pea..EVERYTHING.
      xooxTake care..

    2. I don't get how they can prohibit walking outdoors, 6 feet apart, and yet allow ski hills to be full. That seems so harsh for a socially distanced outdoor walk. Imagine the people who live alone...they can't even take a walk with a family member or friend? What about walking into a grocery store with other people inside? wonder if there is a Canadian website where you can verify all the required restrictions? I was hoping by summer we might be able to get back to normal again. Such a sad time in our lives at our age.

    3. Exactly!!
      I had checked..
Can two people who do not live together go for a walk together or meet in a park while maintaining a distance of 2 metres?
Quebecers are encouraged to go for walks and exercise, whether alone or with the members of their family bubble. However, sports activities with people with whom they are not living are prohibited until February 8. Only one person may walk with another person, in accordance with the directives that apply to single individuals.

?I mean because everything you said is spot on..
A person alone can receive someone to help.

Who can understand all this jibberish.
QC is different than the rest of QC.
And our Federal PM should prohibit all leisure international travel.
People went to Cancun etc..planes are coming home w/ covid positives..
I know at OUR age..I so hear you.
      Stolen moments.

  9. Gorgeous work & yes, I love coloring too, now with watercoors & Prismacolors, in childhood, Crayolas! But you also have the whole other sides: baking, cooking, gardening, photography, etc.
Here is a quote for you: "Artists are just children who refuse to put down their crayons." Al Hirschfield

  10. Oh, Monique. I just fell into every photo with awe and joy. The "portraits" of your life, your boys, your "little men" are exquisite -- the skiing, the look. You are rocking that class! And you know I love the faces -- the expressions. All this, and then you go whip up a loaf of bread that looks to die for and photograph it like it was in Bon Appetit! Is it any wonder that this is one of my "happy places?"

I'm with you on the masks. I spent rather a lot of time at the hospital this week and last. One fellow sitting in my waiting area had his mask down (initially to drink, so that was OK, but didn't put it up). I think he forgot; I'm not sure, but I reminded him and he was very nice about it. That I can let go (except it was in the hospital, for heaven sake, where you don't see a person without one!). It's the ones I see on the news or current photos that make me crazy. I'm sure if I went out other places, it would be the same... this cannot get over soon enough (will it ever get over? Please, let it get over.)

I finished the last pages in my Covid journal last night, apart from the painting which I will do today. I thought when I started it, that would be it. I think I will need another journal.

    1. Me two ACGAS!! Episode 2 was lovely also!I look forward to it..
      So get this.
One place I can go is the post office..picture this we have 2..why I have no clue..5000 people on 26 sq kms..and the two are streets apart..No one is ever there when I go.
You have a sign on the front door..MASK obligatory..that's like a waiting room for the real post office..mailboxes are in there..once you enter that part..you wait as only one person is allowed in the inner sanctum..about 12 ft by 12 ft lol..so a man ..must be his business..was mailing 20 boxes..OY..so I had to wait in that closed front area..that clearly says..MASKS OBLIGATORY..someone walked in..and from the corner of my eye..I thought I saw a maskeless face..sure enough as he walked back out NO MASK..I opened the door yes I did and yelled Where's your mask?..No answer so as he got in his shiny white SUV I yelled out again..Where's your mask..of course no answer..
Mailed my 2 cards w/ the postmistress and I told her I couldn't believe it..not the fist she said..blablabla..I was by then wound up..
So I leave and kids had been playing in a fort across the street..one was leaving and said to me.."What were you telling my uncle?" (Small town)I said he did not have a mask on in there sweetheart..it's the law..you know what he said..Oh my uncle..he's so rude sometimes..LOL.
      Loved the kid.
