I find time is flying faster than ever~

I mean look at that face pretending to drive my white Cabriolet♥

He doesn't read my blog so he won't see this.. but in less than one month he will be 16.

This is the front of the card I am having made for him..he starts Driver's Ed soon..ohmy gosh.

His mom drives my car ..it's hers..this car is a 1986 white volks cab convertible..built like a tank.

It may have been my midlife crisis car lol..

My girls learned to drive in it..

Caroline married with it..it was the bride's car on a gorgeous day!

As you can see the Littles were in it early..

So happy they kept it and love it.

This boy..

our first..

This birdhouse needs revamping...

Many plants doing beautifully..

Others suffering from rust and Japanese Beetles..

The garlic's coming along well..all herbs too..I'll never buy a dill plant.. seed is the way to go..by this time  my dill is done and gone to seed..not seeded..but seeded..lush and fresh and new.

I am going to sound like a broken record but it is one of my middle names..

I love..chopping spring green onions and freezing..on the spot ready and fresh! Who knew?

And here I go again with washing your berries carefully..drying and glass jarring them.

The difference is unbelievable.Glass jars..clean produce..a match made in heaven.

What I mean by time flies..the poppies are long gone tulips and lilacs preceeded them, perennial geraniums..many roses..and now poppies etc..

Another little car tidbit of info...

For the last 10 yrs..I've driven a Fiat.

When I was forced to retire..I let go of an acceptable client car and bought small and cute.

Like wine labels I'm not into wine apart from the label..I'm not into cars apart from cute.

I kid you not when I needed this new not working anymore car I Googled cute cars.

All over Italy I had seen them.

I bought it.

10 yrs now..some issues..

I overlooked them..

but there was an annoying issue..

I took it to my garage.. and while it was there..someone backed into it.

So the garage called me and said I have bad news..  the accident ..and we  are not responsible so call your insurance..we have witnesses etc,and the repair of the other thing is major.

OY.

They don't make or sell those cars here anymore..

So I had the body repaired..insurance did cover it..not my fault..no kidding..

but I wasn't sure re their diagnosis re the car problem.

Took it somewhere else because I wanted it SAVED..

That mechanic might just have been a bit more knowledgeable and took his time..found the issue and fixed it.Not major.

So I can keep it for a while lol until I find another cute car..

I gave them a stunning review:)

So like anything..if your intuition is telling you something..

Listen:)

Have a good week~

Thanks for the tip on chopping spring green onions and freezing. I just received some in my veggie basket from the farm. And guess what I am doing tonight at the farm? Pulling garlic :-) Have a great day. P.S. My zillion purple poppies are still blooming away.

  7. First of all, that card is fantastic and couldn't be better for a 16th birthday! He was adorable then and handsome now and getting more so every day! What a celebration you will have.

Good news on getting the car fixed and I had no idea about chopping the spring onions to freeze. I love that idea and the jars for fruit, too! And of course I am swooning with your borage and nasturtiums! Perfect in every way!

  8. The first image has me on cuteness overload. Seriously, it is adorable and perfect for his card. I love your car stories. M had his first car when we married, a white 1967 Camaro. No AC and beginning to show it's almost 10 years of age. But he treasured it. It was rare and he knew it would be a classic. Finally after a few years, he needed a new car with AC. Seriously, we had a knock on the door after bringing home the new car. Someone asking if the Camaro was for sale. We think it was a salesman from the dealership where we bought the new car. Strange and curious, cash in hand. So M told him to come back on Monday with a cashier's check. And so he sold it! Still talks about. There is another car story, his first convertible. But that's for another day. 😂😂😂

  9. Your grandson will love the birthday card! So adorable! Your flowers are simply beautiful. I am very happy for you that your car was "saved!" Just 3 weeks ago, my husband and I were toodling around in his old pickup truck, when a person ran a stop sign and sent us spinning. All of us were uninjured, but my hubby has had his truck forever and loves it like a child (not quite--but he loves it!). Because it's older, the other person's insurance company was considering totaling it out. We listened to our little inner voice, too, and I took a bunch of pictures, to show it's condition, and we explained how much we wanted to have it fixed so we could keep it. Sure enough, the adjuster agreed to it and it's in our favorite body shop, right now. You are right! We need to listen to that small voice that leads us!

    1. What a similar circumstance! As mine needed the bodywork too..and would the insurance cover it?It did..Wow ..what a scare.. In a heartbeat things can change..so happy you are fine and that the treasured pickup is fine!!

  10. That is the perfect photo for L's birthday card!! I can't believe 16 already. So quickly! We had Mack and Dane overnight last weekend and Mack is looking so big too. Almost 12! Only one more year until he's a teenager. Where did the time go? I didn't know that about green onions! Even in salads they still taste fresh? I must try! I am sad that the peonies are over, clematis are waning, and it's daylily time already. Middle of July, where has summer flown too? I'm so glad you were able to get your car repaired. I can't believe someone backed into it! Thank goodness there were witnesses and thank goodness you found a better repair place. I love cute cars too :) My cutest one, my girls never got to see (a yellow Porsche 914). My single car and John and I sold it right after we were married to get a car with air conditioning :)

    1. So many cars w/out air..My first car was not as cute as yours a 1964 white valiant convertible and you couldn't see out the back when the roof was up..OMGEE.
I wasn't there when the lady backed into it..I had left my car and keys for them to find the noise..and fix..
it was in their lot.The phone call came at the ned of the day w/ both bad news..es..:(The accident that people witnessed..and what they thought was wrong with the car ..chaching..
Then you start thinking well..should I even have it fixed..anyway I took the car to their recommended body shop close by.. and still debated..but I called them and said don't order what you need..I am getting a second opinion.
So glad I did..and buhbye that garage.Weird thing is I took it there 2 yrs ago asking about the noise..they said it was just annoying..not unsafe..well it was bugging J and I so wee took it back..and now it was major..well..not.
I have not used those spring green onions on a fresh salad(More thin red onion slices here) but on rice dieshes afre made..as a garnish and yes..and as in our meal tonight..

      https://www.ricardocuisine.com/en/recipes/8823-pan-fried-chicken-with-vegetable-noodles-and-tao-dressing
Ill sprinkle some on top and w/ microgreens and yes..they do have crunch..Ill check again..lol.I love having them I have a full container and this one.
      I'll never stop lol.

Oh sleepovers I think those days are done.. over 6 feet 2 of them..just yesterday 3 of us in same bed..
Seems like yesterday..truly Covid..was a time stealer. They grew and grew and grew..
      I can't believe Mack will be 12!!
I remember when our girls married..♥

    2. We always get a second opinion on our cars! When we take them to the dealership it's also chaching, so then we ask a small garage where we know the owner and it's always at least 1/2 price. Thanks so much for the recipe! I've pinned it :) I remember when our girls were married too ♥ We have another sleepover scheduled with our little Bo this week! We're always pretty tired the next day - LOL.

    3. I remember that tired feeling:) Bo must have grown up so much..There's now girlfriend talk here....Our cars have not been sick a lot and once I find a mechanic I love I stick..but this one is mabye 4 yrs now..and I noticed a difference..way too busy..yet the garage that found and fixed my car is a dealer!!Twice now that dealer has given me excellent sevice..they once sold Fiats.
