I win at deleting pics and posts:(

I had a lengthy November post ready and one false move..and it was all gone..

I thought drafts were saved..I better not find that touch key again ever that pulled the whole thing into a disappearing act...

So I won't bore you with a repeat of what got deleted..I'll just highlight the recipes etc:)
That apple crisp is unique..and a keeper
It's from Marie..Her Mom's Best Apple Crisp.
I have been touting this one as my best..
And I still love it..
But I had never made one w/ crisp on bottom and top.
Noah and Jacques gave it thumbs up!

Continuing on the apple theme..I made Ricardo's BEST APPLE PIE.
It's always a winner here. And I had to use my new old vintage Fire King pie plates:) I had to.

I stitched..this one is the Second Day of Christmas from

I love her patterns.Super detailed instructions..And she is a wonderful talented creator.
I have finished all The Alicia Paulsen ones so I am happy to have found these precious ones..
Don't be fooled though these are projects..Not done in an hour or two.
I only make  these for my daughters..not for me lol..
If you want to start off softly with less intricate patterns I recommend Susan's.Click on free patterns. So cute.Generous of her talents.

Also I wanted to share these fun waffle cookies ..made w/ a waffle iron..so good..so surprised!
My fern's hanging in there from bringing it in..my daughter got my other two..fingers crossed they make it to her new home.
The geraniums are doing so well lol..and the rosemary bloomed..

On a personal note..Max and Oli are in the finals this week
And Lucas semi-finals..
I can't believe I'm excited..  two things..I always worried about football..and told my girls this 10 yrs ago lol when I met a man in yoga who had pain pain relief implants..he told us never let your kids play football..OY I immediately told the girls.
They all play football.
Goes to show you a Nana can change and wear many coats.
I love going to their games.
I had the pleasure of picking up Noah at school and he came for dinner.Unfortunately his team didn't get very far this year.
Next yr he will be in a school he can walk to here from:)

So that's it..Take care..

  1. Oh dear, don't you hate it when you delete unintentionally!! So sorry you had to redo your post, but it was wonderful, as always. Thank you for the apple crisp recipes. I've never made one with a bottom crust, but it sounds delicious. Love your handwork on the turtle dove (I think that's the right bird, lol). That geranium and rosemary are gorgeous...do they even know that winter is right around the corner? Have a great weekend, Monique.

  4. Monique, I can relate. Mine was IG, but still lost work is lost time and effort!
You know your felted ornaments delight. I love seeing what you create, and I'm sure your girls are smitten with such heirloom treasures from their mom. I was touching a crawl pillow my mom made me when I graduated from high school. Running my fingers over the stitches, thinking of her nimble hands loving stitching this piece specifically for me.I remember it well because she had kept it a secret. My sister was getting married, and she surprised her with a beautiful pillow at her shower. I was so envious! Then after she married, my mom presented me with one she had stitched for me. You can imagine my heart was full.
    Memories!

  6. I hate when that happens! So frustrating. There is some mysterious gremlin key on my computer too - LOL. I love the sound of Marie's Apple Crisp with the crisp on the bottom too. No such thing as too much crisp :) Such a pretty felt ornament and I can see all of the fine detail work you've added so beautifully. I love seeing your Fire King dishes. Of course they are so special to me as I still have my Mom's are they are still in perfect shape. It's a smallish pie plate which is perfect for us. The snowbirds look like they are very happy indoors! ♥ We had snow showers this afternoon!!

    1. No snow yet but the tides have turned..cold and rainy and positively dismal.I'm ready..it happens every year.
I can't believe how many leaves are still on the trees here.. we've blown and hauled and blown and hauled..and still the oaks and a few others still have many many leaves!
I went shopping yesterday and Christmas carols were playing.I didn't shop last Nov..so this is new to me!

    2. The leaves are later to drop this year. Our village department of public works that picks up the leaves we blow onto the street said it was later this year that normal. John keeps blowing and they keep on falling! Snow showers coming again tomorrow morning.

  9. So pleased that the apple crisp was enjoyed. That makes me happy. Your ornament is perfection. I have bought her patterns, but never made. In the UK, I couldn't find the proper materials. Now I need to buy the patterns again so I can try here. We will see, I remember them being a bit complicated. However I don't mind hard work, lol. Thanks for the link to the free, less complicate ones. There are some really cute ones there! All of your photos are so beautiful. I love your snowbirds. Your pie dish. Your pie! Love it all. Your posts are always a breath of fresh air. I hate it when my hard work vanishes also, but nevertheless, you have made lemonade out of lemons because this post as always was lovely. xoxo

  11. Your ornaments are beyond gorgeous, Monique. I can see why you make them only for your daughter. They would take forever and what a gift to pass to generations to come. Bummer about your post. I've accidentally deleted one before. It's maddening. I saved that apple crisp recipe of Marie's too. It sounds fabulous!

  13. Is it the rotten UNDO key? Which I always hit by accident. I write my posts in emails so I dont lose them…not sure what happened. Is that store vanilla sugar? I bought some here and have no idea what to do with it.
I can’t imagine double crumb crumble…Too good for words.
