As time goes by~

Our winter was temperate until last week..

But it was and is lovely as I type..birthdays week..

we were able to be with our daughter..and I was able to be with both.

I hope the tide is turning.

I was remembered by my girls and friends and that was very nice:)Special things..

I love my little cards too..

And the exquisite bouquets.

My friend Nancy also sent one..

Amazing how web friends also pull at your birthday heartstrings.Grateful.Big time they do♥Some I have met..some I won't but I KNOW them..some I will meet. Some I miss ...Derek..his wife Marlene.. and  Linda..soon it will be one year..

Think of it.. we do form relationships..

This little one turned 45..I can't believe it..I went through a few photo albums..that's all we had..I'm so glad I took pics..the quality is awful..but I remember every moment..so many albums  yay.

The curls..the curlers..the smiles..the ribbon yarn..bows..braids,French and otherwise..Strawberry Shortcake clothes..and making some..The piano concerts..gingham and tartan and kilts and

Look how they entertained themselves.. lol filling a picnic table w/ dandelion blooms.

Life is 100% different.Technology.. the age of digitization..Ipads and video games..we never had any at home..it was so simple.

See those long plaid skirts? I made 3 matching ones for my daughters and I ..lol..and I badly made that blouse for me.

I wore bowties..they did..saddle shoes..patent shoes..

Little sandals:)♥Oh their little feet.

As Time goes by I realize how the best years of my life were my little girls years:)And I must say when the alphabet boys were babies also.I just love little kids so much.I must admit as young and older adults..they make my life shine.

2 classics.. Hudson Bay stripes and a classic sour cream choco chip cake.

Hope you can make it out..It's an IPad pic;)

I had initially remembered it was AllRecipes as Mylène often gets good recipes there..but no..

So here you go..

Take care..  I guess I'll be back in March;)

As time goes by..so fast.

What beautiful memories you have in your photos & in your heart. As time goes by the photos may fade but the ones in your heart will remain forever.
I have this fantasy of gathering all my internet friends together in Paris and have a big party. I am quite sure we would all enjoy one another.
    See you in March!

  3. Happy Birthday Dear Monique! And your daughter celebrated one, too. How lovely to share those special days with our favorite people. It looks like Mother Nature sent a beautiful snowfall for your b-day, too. We woke to more snow this morning, also. I just keep thinking that we are nearing springtime. Yay!! I always enjoy seeing your pictures. Oh my, the one of you (I think) and friends sitting on steps, years ago...certainly brings back memories. I was born in the fifties, and times were so different then. Loved seeing the pics of your daughter, also. She looks so much like you. Yes, I remember when our kids were content to play outside when they were young. No devices. They'd play on the swings, in the sand, picked my flowers, and were happy with the simple things. Oh well, time never stands still, and our young ones are going to be just fine, in spite of this crazy world or ours. That cake recipe has my name on it. Gonna try it soon. Thanks, Monique, for the beauty you always bring to these posts. May this birthday usher in a new year of life that has many blessings for you and your family. xoxo

Kind of happy that when we are en famille..the boys aren't in their corners w/ electronics..they entertain us..when we aren't there they enjoy them a lot..they play games online w/ friends ..amazing.Sporty though in real life so that's a good thing..Way sportier than their nana..lol.
Pam you always write with such care.
      I appreciate it..:)xo

  5. Happy, Happy to you and yours! I love seeing these photos through the years. It's another layer added to our friendship across the miles. My teaching career was spent with young children, so that has always been a love for me. My nieces and nephews, my godchildren, all very special to me! It is a joy to see them as adults now, raising littles of their own. I'm so grateful to have these young families in my life. Yes, time marches on. Life is so different from my childhood, as it is for my nieces and nephews too. Their children live in the world of technology, but I admire the young parents for their commitment to limiting that as much as possible. Yes, they too are busy with sports. It's fun to see them so active!
Enjoy the birthday week, sweet friend. I think of you daily! Your posts of photos and dialog bring joy!

  7. Happy Birthday to you and your daughter. How time flies. Yes, our young lives were so simple compared to today with so much technology. Kids don’t seem to play anymore. They are on their phones, iPads. Etc. Such cute photos, it is always fun to look back. The cards and messages are so very sweet. I know they warmed your heart. So glad you are able to get out, hopefully things are getting back to normal.

  8. Happy Birthday -- belated but still filled with wonderful wishes for a beautiful new year for you. And for your lovely daughter, too. I think we all had more fun then -- we were certainly more engaged and I think we had to be creative, too. We didn't have everything set for us -- we had to think up our own fun and interact with others. The photos are beautiful -- you DO have a lot of snow! We're almost bare again but more is expected this week. Yummy looking cake. And so pretty on the blanket. Sending loads of love -- let the birthday merriment continue!

  9. Happy birthday Monique. I commented earlier but my laptop stopped working. Your photos are lovely, sometimes it's nice to look back at old photos. Your plaid skirts reminded me of some I made for my daughters, same style but not plaid, flowered cotton :-)

  14. A lovely birthday for you and lovely reminiscing. YOU, so sweet growing up, and still...in the 1st photo, I did a double take. The boy in the upper right, with that hat, looked just like my brother when he was a boy in an old 50's photo.
