End of March~

Spring walks many many many years ago....

Not a lot going on..

We're edging into Spring with puddles and still some snow here..

I came across these pics of the 3 Littles that lived across the street..in this kind of weather..

To try and explain how much we love Littles..is impossible.

They are big and tall and beautiful now..

I love that I have sooo many pics to look back on.

We had a celebration for Jacques' 81rst birthday last night and got home around 1 AM.(I felt like I had gone to a wedding..:) )..Making up for lost time?

To count the laughs would be impossible.

To say how good the food..impossible..

A beautiful fun celebration. They are not just family..they are friends♥

I found a new sourdough bread recipe and it's a keeper..

If you want to try..

The recipe is here..

I'm taking a one month watercolor class..es w/ Jean Haines..

Tempted to take one yr..it's just that busy will be here soon w/ gardens etc..

and they are in dire need of work..

dirt..planting etc..I'll see..

And the kindness and generosity of this artist is..wow..she has a fund raiser for Ukraine.. selling her art donating all the proceeds. She wants to reach 10,000 pounds.

And she will ..she's more than halfway there,

Carol from Paris Breakfast has her own fundraiser going on w/ her gorgeous blue and yellow paintings.

The hearts of these accomplished artists are as beautiful as their art for Ukraine.

Speaking of which..I actually am filled with hate for the beast running Russia. The images..are haunting..ever so haunting.

I started my seeds..some this week and lo and behold too many have sprouted..

I have to keep them happy till they can go out end of May/ early June.

So my craft room is looking rather busy w/ the painting lessons and seed sprouting.

Busy mind and hands stay out of trouble and truly help shifting focus.Your mind wanders with painting..baking.. gardening.

I thank God I love doing these things.

Have a good week..take care..From me to you..

  4. Adorable photos of your littles.
Your bread is certainly painting worthy.
It is good to get into new activities. Takes the mind to other places.
One of my gardening chores that I loved was weeding. Made me forget about everything. Have a good week & keep painting.

  5. Such darling pictures of your littles. Time does fly by. They are wonderful handsome young men now. Your bread looks like it belongs in a bakery, how special you share the found recipe. So glad you remain busy with your painting. Your art is lovely. I totally agree about the monster. It saddens my heart to know this awful war on Ukraine 🇺🇦 is destroying innocent lives.

    1. I had read and watched movies and learned in school about the Nazis..I thought it could never happen again. It's happening...and it's tragic:(
Grateful for hobbies..especially since gardening is not year round..

  6. Beautiful pictures...beautiful paintings. I really enjoy looking at pictures taken through the years. It's amazing how you can see the sparkle in the eyes of a two-year-old, and that same sparkle is there when they're older. The eyes stay the same, don't they. I think someone said ears don't change much, either, but they don't do much for me, lol. My mind is always on Ukraine, too. They have gone through so much already. I keep praying. Thank goodness for spring and the many tasks that help to keep us going. Don't work too hard, Monique. Enjoy every single day!

    1. Thank you Pam..what a great observation..how their eyes keep that beautiful sparkle..I think our love for them is that reflecting lol:)I do..
And I love getting lost in old photos..a sweet nostalgic feeling sweeps over me and I am so grateful for those years.
And then..we have the ugliness of one man's search for power through brutality:(

  7. Oh, that bread! Simply gorgeous. I am trying today after a week's worth of feeding but I already overproofed it when we had a late start to Costco today so had to reshape. Fingers crossed but I'm not holding my breath - LOL. I'm using the video's suggestion for the hot cast iron because I'm not sure of oven temps for the cold oven start yet. Love those photos when our boys were Littles. Seems like yesterday, doesn't it? It sounds like you had a wonderful party for Jacques! 1:00 am! Good job keeping up with the youngsters! Fun times and so overdue! I have a few tomato seeds sprouting too. Fingers crossed we can keep them from getting too spindly before planting time. Love your paintings and the style. Good job with your classwork! You get an A+ from me. ♥

  8. Sweet trip down memory lane! I remember well when your littles were little. I was unaware then of just how much joy grandchildren bring. Now I know! The atrocity in Ukraine is just horrendous and makes us want to hold our loved ones even closer. It feels so hopeless - the only thing to do is fight back against power hungry dictators. Never let them win. Happy Birthday to Jacques!💕

  9. You don't have to explain how much you love your littles (or not-so-littles, anymore). It's so clear from every photo -- and every other gran who reads this knows exactly what you mean. I love it all -- the photos, the paintings, the fabulous bread. I visited Jean's site and I may do the same. I love her work. Right now Rita steered me toward Sketchbook Revival. I'm glad the videos stay active till mid-April, because I missed most of the first week. I won't do them all but have done a couple of the sessions and they're really fun. Let me know if you want the link (I don't have it in my head but can send to you easily!)

      I am too.
It's incomprehensible that such people can do these crimes.

  13. Your grandsons were so adorable and are now so handsome. How very blessed that you have been able to be a very present person in their lives. I am sure they love you very much! How could they not! Love your bread and your painting also. I need to start some sour dough starter again. I have been putting it off, who knows why. I am tempted to take that art course. I am just not sure I could keep up entirely with it, and do it in a month. I need to do some more research first. Very snowy here today! xoxo
