Mid July and it's mostly Lily time..My fave is the before last one..Maggie..blooming in profusion.
I would have them everywhere..I may divide and try that:)
JB love these too though so it's hit or miss..
I looked back to July last yr and my cherry tomatoes are a bust this yr:(
The larger ones seem better but not stellar..If anything is abundant Ill be shocked.
Happily surprised let's say.
Purple poppies no go this yr..just the ones I always have..
Dill is great:)
NEXT yr GOMPHRENA I forgot:(
I took a wonderful online tutorial..With Marco Novo he's just great..
that's the class the two little beach girls..
Still baking..always..
The bread is from Nusrat on IG..her name there is sabzi.schabzi
I don't know what happens if I directly link my account being a bit more cautious..
The bran muffins are from Chris..one bowl bran muffins..soo good..
Noah is in Maine..I miss going there..so charming..with his mom having a ball.
The 3 other boys went to Football University in Naples Florida..
3 days of extensive training in hot as heck weather.
Summmertime..and the livin' is easy:)
I cannot imagine football camp in Florida. Yikes. Of all places!
ReplyDeleteLilies are the stars of my garden as well. So many. And so many colors. Love them. I sow poppies every year and I have yet to see one. So disappointing But I was happy to welcome 4 O’Clocks this year.
And your potted ones gave me the nudge to try potted next yr:)
DeleteSuch a pleasure to wake up in the morning to my coffee & your lovely garden photographs. The only lilies I have are day lilies and they have finished blooming. I love Naples but not in mid July!!! Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteThose boys are intrepid..And their love of football boundless :)I agree Fl in winter..not in summer but we did it w/ the girls when little..:)
DeleteI am such a wimp playing in the hot weather, glad the boys are young and have that drive to play hard. My girlfriend's 93 year old father just whooped a 23 year old in a golf tournament in the hot weather. I wish I had that drive LOL. Love those edibles in the salad :-) I love Maine like you do.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say that nasturtiums are my favorite herb and edible flower.
DeleteColorful buds of joy.
Beach girls are wonderful! Good for you keeping up the classes! My Maggie just started blooming this week too but just one here and there but tons of buds. I have divided her and now she lives in several spots in my yard. I love daylilies, just not the ugly spent bloom cleanup - LOL. Tomatoes - about the same because they are in containers on the pool patio. Delicious looking bread and I will try Chris' bran muffins soon. Your edibles are a work of art in a bowl! ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteI have such a busy life I walk about the gardens every morning and snip off spent blooms..How exciting is that? :)Maggie is my best she is in several spots too and will be in more soon:)
DeleteLove, love, love the beach girls! You are soooo talented, Monique! Football camp in this heat! Yikes!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll take Maine with Noah and his mom, please. Where in Maine? We have friends in Castile, Belfast, and South Portland. I adore spending time in Maine!!! Wish I was there now!
Love your lilies. Mine are long past, but hopefully will bloom again in the fall. Too hot for anything here!
We did have a nice little down pour last night and the temps dropped to the 70s. Today is supposed to be in 90s. Triple digits returning then once again. Too Hot!!!
Thanks for the refreshing post, dear friend!
M goes where we went..home base Wells beach then goes to Ogunquit..Kenneybunk.. Perkins Cove..last time we went..I forget which town we stayed in but did all those places:)WE took the girls many times and she has not forgotten:)I love that the girls are loving places we went to or go to:)Maybe York we stayed..
DeleteBeautiful flowers in your garden…I wish I could taste that bread ….mmmmm it looks yammie….love from me and Leaf 🍀💗🐾🍀
ReplyDeleteBread.I just love it:)
DeleteHi Monique! Those Paris girls are just wonderful! And your flowers are so pretty. I think I need to plant some Maggie lilies! Our tomatoes have been a bit sluggish, too, but this past week we've seen them take off. I hope yours do the same. I always love reading your posts! Happy weekend to you, xoxo.
ReplyDeletePam..happy weekend to you too..gosh I hope mine take off too..Today..tis AM ..harvesting my garlic..its going to be hot..getting an early head start:)Bon weekend!
DeleteLove your watercolors.....so loose and free. I tend to put in too much detail. Your fuchsia lily is stunning....have never seen that color! Oh, Wells Beach, Maine. When we lived in Boston, we would take my stepdaughter up for a week or two....stayed in one of the old, two story houses right on the beach, "Seal Watch." Cooked lobster; had breakfast at the Lions Club; played bingo at the fire station; ate real maple walnut ice cream while walking on the beach; looked for sea life in the tidal pools! Wonderful memories. Football camp in Florida in July.....no thanks! Hope they have a good time though.
ReplyDeleteSeal Watch:)I love how homes have names..I have always named ours..Nantucket has sweet names..Your memories sound wonderful..The boys had a ball..they are looking forward to next yr..The two that participated are extremely fit and disciplined;) They take after me..LOL..not at all.
DeletePlease read my post
ReplyDeleteI Love that watercolor so much bc it is so watery! The figures get lost in the paint.
ReplyDeletePB
Thank you..I am redoing it ..a bit larger different paper..:)
