Vance wrote Hillbilly Elegy ( a lot falsehoods I have since discovered) How dare he tell Zelensky to say THANK YOU and why are you not wearing a suit?You know how you were.. and yet you judge?
Zelensky is a hero buddy. Not you.
I have never ever seen such a terrible display of hosts IN the White House.

They are disrespecting Gaza by showing AI Images of a waterfront Club Med.

All I keep thinking is the families of these 2 must be so proud of their bullying behaviour! What an example to his grandchildren (let’s face it the kids are beyond redemption) and Vance for his 2 young children. As we say in Italian “Vergogna”.

DeleteIn tears yet again, I read your post this morning. The comment re his grandchildren prompted me to write a reply. The morning of the prayer service at the National Cathedral was remarkable not only from the point of Bishop Budde's remarks, but for the look on Ivanka's 13 year old daughter, as she took in Budde's words. I wondered then what must be going through this young mind, and how she would process what she was hearing with what she must know of her grandfather's actions. I wept for her.

Hi Lorrie..I have had mine for yrs and its really just a prop for my cookbook holder:) I like looking at it..for all these years.I don't tire of things and some I keep just to look at not really use.I am not political.Last night one of my daughters said.."I've never seen you like this mom"..She is right.It feels serious and important to me..So I did talk about it.So important for us..our families and their families.

We must return to the Golden Rule--that beautiful verse that tells us to treat others as we want to be treated. I agree with you. I pray for the world to wake up and walk that path of love. Your cookies sound delicious (for me, chocolate is key), and how beautiful are those simple strips of carrots. I love that brilliant orange color you captured. I always felt deeply for Ukraine..But now its all important as he is bulling the world.I am thinking of my Littles..a lot I don't want them in a war torn world.The cookies disappeared on first sight:)
DeleteLike you, I am totally appalled by what I am seeing South of the Border. I know he is not representative of all Americans, I don't even thing he is representative of those who voted for him. (I am still scratching my head on that one.) I think he is doing a great job of annihilating America from the rest of the world, with the exception of perhaps Russia. He has insulted, threatened, bullied, disrespected and harangued just about every nation out there. I think that the interview with Zelensky was the straw that broke my camel's back. I have never in my life seen such a disgusting public display enacted by a leader of the free world. I would be ashamed if I was an American to call him my President. Just my opinion.

Today is a tender, bittersweet day, with our tolling our bell for our dear neighbor---98 times for her years, and I'm sure there will be tears at two o'clock, and smiles as well, as I tell the new little family of four about all her years in their house, and what a lovely neighbor she was. I think we'll let the charming little pixie four-year-old ring the last few, just for the continuation of the warmth and generosity and lovely times we had, and those to come with this sweet new family, so full of life and energy and plans for the garden and the future.

Things are a mess here in the states and trust me when I say how many are angered by it, doing what we can to resist and affect change. It's humiliating to be an American -- a US American. I never thought I would take a political stance.But this brought me to tears to see buffoons treat a hero in such a bullying disrespectful way.I already hated him for his disrespect of my country.And how republicans are staying mute.And top democrats.I thought they would speak up and say..We made a grave mistake and we are sorry.Only a handful have shared with me that they are sorry.Every American should be.If my country had demeaned yours I would apologize :( I guess we see who our real cross border friends are.Thank you:)

ReplyDeletefirst, may i say that i did try to e-mail our lovely hostess a couple weeks ago, when she posted an e-mail addy @ hotmail dot com that i could use to write to her.
but the addy didn't work. I tried 3 times, then googled "hotmail" only to learn that the service was sold to Microsoft years ago & nearly all former hotmail addies are obsolete today.
i took all this as a sign from the universe that the Great Spirit does not intend for us to meet up at the present time. Although the occasion may present itself again some time in the future.
turning now to Donald Trump in the 2nd place, i find myself wondering if Americans fully understand how their new president is building up a tsunami of global hatred for his country that is going to last for a century or more. Will last far longer than what's left of his own somewhat dodgy life.
it's almost impossible to believe how the new US president - after less than 2 months in office - has already destroyed America's position as once-proud leader of the democratic world.
many of Trump's memes - crush NATO, betray historic allies such as Europe & Canada, cozy up to ruthless strongman dictators like Russia's Putin & north Korea's Kim - all these memes appeared during Trump's first presidency. We were forewarned.
me, i don't feel angry. I'm running eagerly to encourage, to join, to contribute to the new world economic & trading order that is just beginning to show its face.
so far, Canada & other nations are showing themselves to be very resilient. May this continue.

DeleteI can so fully understand why you had to write about this on your blog. So many of us were - and still are - shocked and speechless, angry and mad as hell. It took me a while to calm down again and then write on my blog as well (as you have seen), something I usually don't do. But I think silence doesn't do any good. I have been living in coastal Northern California for more than 20 years, and maybe we live in some kind of bubble here that we don't understand why people voted for Felon47. It is so painful to see what Felon47, Muskrat and Hillbilly are doing to destroy this country, alienate friends, whoo foes and not caring even for the people who voted for them. It's unhinged revenge on anything that is not in agreement with their crooked views.
