The apple of my eye../Nothing do do about the New Year..

I have a few..Lucas..Max..Noah..Ollie..

Caro and Mimi..
I guess that makes..apples of my eye..s.

Materialistically..speaking though?
Williams-Sonoma..?When I go to Florida~It is a favorite place to go and peek..

I only bought one thing..I promise.

And how cute is it?

A mini pie press.

It is easy to use..
I did not follow their apple pie filling recipe..I just made my own..I cut extremely small pieces of apple.. added sugar..cinnamon..Cardamom..and a bit of flour..

Placed the filling in the press..sealed the edges w/ egg wash and baked..
Blueberry must be divine..raspberry too..This is something I will use again..Unlike my giant cupcake pan:)Takes less room also.
Just thought if Santa did not visit some of you..you could treat yourselves.
I even like their catalog. That's a gift in itself.Does this have anything to do w/ the New Year? Ok..maybe..mea culpa for the title:)
Why oh why don't we have one here?
I know why..I bet I do.

  2. Cardamom is so good. I love it. They must have more choices at WS in the US than Canada. This is adorable. I want one!

    gros bisous

  6. No Williams Sonoma over here so I can just look and dream. Your pies are very sweet! Pictures are astoundingly well done as usual! My father always calls me the apple of his eye. It is a phrase that is very sweet to me and makes me smile. A very Happy New Year to you and all your family! Hoping 2012 brings you enough blessings to make your cup runneth over! xxoo

  13. We are so lucky to have a WS here but I wish we had a WS Outlet store too. I know - never satisfied. I've seen those adorable little pie molds and wondered about them. Sounds like a cinch! Little older boys will appreciate them more :) Have a wonderful New Year, M!

I'm guessing you are in Florida and hope you are having a nice and warm visit.

    Best,

  15. How adorable! I saw the molds and almost purchased them...I used every ounce of restraint. Guess I am going back to the store as you have answered my question, "Yes, they really do work!"

    Have a wonderful New Year!

  16. So pretty M...
The Chef purchased this mold resently...spotted it while unpacking some of his kitchen joy!
Looking forward to trying this cute little one.

  17. Cute as a button. I've never seen a pie press. I wonder how it works? I've always loved visits to housewares stores... like an adult toy store in the best way. Funny, I have been dreaming of making homemade pop tarts... this is a first cousin, isn't it???

    Have a great New Years!

  18. I saw this when I went window shopping there the day before Christmas. They should have your picture on the packaging to sell the product! (I know you would rather have the shop near to home, but it is fun to have places you just have to shop when you travel!)

The pie is so pretty. I bet raspberry would be my favorite. Happy New Year to you.

  19. You are so right Jacqueline..it is fun to have something different to look forward to,great attitude..Instead of what I don't have..what I can sometimes see:)
I remember that post you put about what if you woke up one day with only the things you had been grateful for the night before:) Similar..

They're not really like a pop tart..a real little pie..you use the mold the cut the pastry..place a piece in the bottom..put filling seal WELL w/ egg wash all around and top w/ other cut out piece..brush w/ egg top w/ sanding sugar:)

Kathy your story is one of hope and joy..the icing on the cake is his lovely profession..I hope you take beautiful photo of his creations..Happy for you.

Affordable and adorable.. a bit like the gyoza molds..

I can imagine French cooks tools stores in Paris would be quite intoxicating:)
Susan..hope you are up to PAR for NYE:)

  24. I just put mine aside for Valentines Day. I have the apple, pumpkin and star. I am waiting now for the clearance at WS outlet on the Cmas cut outs. I would not pay 10.00 when I know they will be 2! I can wait!

  25. Back to say, I have used my giant cupcake pan a lot! I saw it made into a Christmas Tree, very cute!
The top would make good igloos for the boys, they would love it!

  26. I always stroll thru Wms. Sonoma and take a whiff and stroll back out...it is so expensive. I'd love to have all that copper cookware though!
