Day 6~ Les Tuileries and Nancy~Long..post..but I loved that day~

"Really?  You are going to be in Paris when we will be there?
Let's meet..!!"
My friend Nancy was flying to Paris ..to carry onto Dublin and London and Normandy and Roquecor..
Nancy has lived in Paris..and Ireland and the south of France..to name only a few places:)

"Jardins Des Tuileries entrance? Place De La Concorde?"
"OUI..can't wait..:)"

I was also lucky enough to have her as my front door neighbor for a few years..many of us in my small town are fortunate to call her..friend.

And the sun shone and it was the very prettiest day yet..ever for us.

You would think I had never seen a ferris wheel before~

Who lives up there in back w/ such views?I wondered:)

I need to put a tiny sailboat in my baby bathtub sized pond out back..clearly..I have a fondness:)
I could read there..

How did that get in here?:)♥
J'adore cette roue.

It's getting further..

Come on..Look..Love.
Those chairs..like in Provence..but in Les Tuileries..just waiting for us~

I have no idea who this cute couple is..hard to photo such a gorgeous spot w/out people in front~

Wow.
Et oui..wouaou..c'est impressionnant..superbe ..ravissant.
Le Louvre~

My token tourist shot.

My dear friend Nancy~
When we met up..we realized ..well I did..we both had footless black tights..a skirt and a black top and black shoes..
mine was shorter..still below the knees:)and floral..black and white..and I had band-aids on my feet peeking out through my Keen shoes
I need a pair like Nancy's.
She was trying to find out if Sennelier closed for lunch;)

The banks of La Seine were starting to emerge!~

I know everyone loves Paris in the rain.
Give me sunshine.

Be still my ♥

My fave store in Paris.♥
Staff..exquisitely nice man helped us..even let us stay past lunchtime a bit..
I could have stayed all day.

Et oui..les bouquinistes again.

Picking up a baguette..

Et du vin?

Remember..look up..look DOWN..And imbedded in the road..faces can appear~

et encore.

Back to les Tuileries..for a picnic.

Right under this tree on the pretty green chairs~

You know what? Wine tastes wonderful in a plastic crème brulée Bonne Maman container in Paris..in Les Tuileries..

Jeanne d'Arc

Superb blue door
Angels must gather there~
And many many many other places in Paris.

Everyone looks at her..or wants to.

E Dehillerin, thanks to everyone who wrote to me and suggested I see it~

Definitely my cup of tea shop..too short a time there..in and out..:(
Again lovely people helping you.

The end to a perfect sunny Paris day~♥

Nancy  did go onto Dublin,London,Normandy and the south of France..this came in the mail from Dublin..a postcard..she said it reminded her of us shopping for our picnic:)

It's grey and raining..so I am posting Paris part 6 now:)
I appreciate the summer rain here:)
Bon Dimanche!

  6. Just what I needed for my Sunday afternoon. Too hot to be outside, so I've been stitching on my Peter Rabbit.
Nice and comfy in our AC. '-)
Your photos have me longing for an afternoon in a Parisian park. So many beautiful choices, we could picnic in a different one each day.
Thanks for taking me to Paris on this lazy afternoon. Have a good week........

  7. Oh Monique, it is raining here again this morning. So much rain we have had this summer and very cool. Your sunny Paris pictures are such a light to me! What a wonderful time you have had and it is so kind of you to share it with us with all of these gorgeous photographs! I eat up each one like candy! I want to go to Paris one day with Todd, but will have to get my walking legs and feet practiced up for sure! I couldn't do it now. Here is a question. I have noticed each time I went to France a great fascination for all things Egyptian. Did you notice this in Paris? I am curious always as to what it is about. Why such a fascination? I may never know. A picnic in Paris on a sunny afternoon. Quelle Belle! Love and hugs. xoxo

    1. No we never noticed..apart from the obelisk..situated Place De La Concorde..we saw nothing..even in the south when we wentso many years ago..
A sunny day makes all the difference..technicolor world..instead of monochrome.
I hope you get to go back..and with Todd..you could stay in a certain arrondissement that has everything..?:)
We are watching a Netflix series..that takes place in London..Marcella..I am checking out the vistas:)

  8. What a picture-perfect day and how welcomed it must have been for you. I'll bet there were many smiles that day :) I am in awe of all of the gorgeous states and the architecture, always. I love that you had a picnic in the park with Nancy! Your favorite shops would have been my favorites also. Did you buy some chocolate for dessert at that lovely chocolate store? Wonderful, wonderful photos and I can sense the happiness in your voice as you speak of them :)

We didn't buy chocolate there..the appartment owners had left chocolates for us..w/ the wine..andbot Nancy and I are not real sweet eaters..cheese and bread? Yes.
Both those stores you would love..also a store called Petit Bateau..for you baby:)
      Ours are too big now.
      Paris ..architecture wise..is unbeatable I am certain.Stunning...

I have memories for a lifetime..some valuable lessons learned also.Totally memorable..for years Nancy has spoken to me of Paris..when she lived here..after she lost her dog Juno(beautiful dog)she adopted a stray cat Zack,I would go and change the litter and feed Z..while she was in Paris..the souvenirs she brought me back were all so special..it was nothing to cross over for Z..I never saw him!LOL he only loves Nancy.
      Thank you:)

  16. Between Dehilleren and Sennelier, I would have left Paris with nothing in my wallet except my passport. Oh, my! The photos are amazing -- every one but especially of those two establishments, perhaps because they grab me at my core! What a wonderful day you had. (When I was last in Paris almost every day rained. I'm glad you had some sun!)
