Or... Halloween Oreo Cookies but better ...from Baking a Moment~
Above..atop a small mountain we sometimes hike..
Thought I would squeeze this post in.. in case some of you need cookie ideas..for Halloween..Lucas loved them..
a lot.
I sent the rest over..and kept 2 for Noah:)
I have loved doing little things for Halloween:)
And seeing Little things..for Halloween..
I could go all the way back to Lucas..our first..in his Lion suit..♥
But I will spare you:)
That recipe..from Baking A Moment..is so easy so good..keeps it's shape..I think I need those rings though;)
I made the dough the night before..I encourage you to do so..so much easier the next day to get going:)
I had the Wilton orange food coloring and the stamps..both items were bought last year the day after Halloween...
If you have never made this recipe my daughter gave me years ago..do so..it is a favorite here in fall::)
WE don't use turkey or chicken sausage..both Jacques and I do not like ground poultry..I use the hot italian sausage from Costco..so pork.
WOW recipe..keeper as you can see:)
So many photos I could add♥
So many lovely memories..
Another feast for my eyes Monique.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful images...and that squash looks fabulous...
I remember Jack Skellington from last year...so cute!
Love the happy face on that orange!
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
You too Mother Of The Groom..bet you are still on such a high:)
ReplyDeleteI know we were..it lasts..
One great things about our blogs..journals w/ photos..so nice to look back!and remember..
I do that often!
DeleteLove your Halloween post. Such neat memories and treats. I love the plates the squash is served on. The plant in the first photo - between the box and the hosta - do you know what it is? A ground cover? I have that and don't know what it is. I don't know how you snapped that picture of Noah, with that look on his face I would think the camera would be shaking with laughter.
ReplyDeletePachysandra..It is called that..a very hardy and quite rampant ground cover..when the snow goes..it's there intact!
ReplyDeleteNoah's mom took that photo..it gets to me every time :)
It's priceless isn't it?
Thanks Monique. I wondered what it is. I'm still figuring out what is plant or weed at the city house. Yes, Noah is adorable.
DeleteSuch goodies and wonderful photos, Monique. The boys on the fence ~ priceless image. It reminds me of one a friend has hanging in her home, taken when her three girls were little and all walking together down a path. The photographer shot them from behind. My friend loved it because that is how she would see her girls following behind them. Don't know why you photo made me think of this. '-)
ReplyDeleteI'm way behind on the holiday thing this season. No excuse. Just the way it is.
Will the boys dress in costume this year? Hope you will share photos.
Hi Sarah..it is nice I find when something instills a memory...The boys will dress..they love Halloween..the parents usually dress up too..fun..as long as they can have fun I want them to..stay forever young at heart❤️
Oh, I do love your Halloween memories Monique! Like Sarah I am wondering what the boys will be this year. I have always loved the photo of Noah as Jack Skeleton. Oh, that stuffed squash. It looks fabulous and the cookies too! The Decorations, all of it. Love all that you share. You are such a dear sweet friend. Thanks for all of your thoughts for me and for Todd. So much appreciated. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI think they may still be debating:)
DeleteThe stuffed squash..well I am so happy Mylène sent it to me..because it is a fave..the parm on top w/ nuts..ohlala..and then the squash..I love squash..
There is no way one cannot think of you two right now..how lucky he is to have such a confident crusader like you with him..x
I wish these were posted earlier. I made some cookies last week and some this week. Maybe I can make them over the weekend for next Monday although then some will be out trick or treating (Frankie gave it up) These are cute. If I don't make them this year I have saved the recipe for next year. The memories are adorable. Those take a bite muffins look familiar. Who knows I may have bought them last year and they are hiding on me!
ReplyDeleteGuess what?
DeleteI posted them for you,we are so much alike for what we make the Littles.it's almost as this one was for you as I thought of you..I only made them yesterday..was going to wait to post for Halloween and then I thought..nono share w/ Terry now..
Make the dough the day before and that took no time..make sure you roll the dough between parchment..saves so much mess and flour..and you need orange food coloring..don't try mixing yellow and red lol..I discovered it's not watercolor..
I was too lazy to dig through the rest of Halloween things..well I wasted a hole yellow liquid..then went and looked again and Eureka.
Oh things hide here too:) On a regular basis..saw the stencils and thought of you too:)
My daughetr just emailed me and said what's in these cookies? Having one with my coffee and they are good..
Lucas loved them..but he is our charmer..the things he tells us..we feel we walk on water:)
Well thank you Monique (and the kids will thank you too!). I'll make them and get them to the kiddies. Far better than candy. Katherine is supposed to be wonder women, see even my Lirrles are growing up.
ReplyDeleteWonder Woman..my girls had a 2 piece underwear set of WW :) I saw her recently on an AM talk show..
Deleteyou will see how well her cookies hold thheir shape..hmmm..Starbucks?:)
Maybe...for the grown ups.
DeleteI love all your photo memories! Everything looks delicious and the Halloween decor is great! Your grandson looks amazing in his costume and makeup - what a fun experience.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you live many also:)
DeleteHave a good week Tricia:)
Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a lovely landscape!!
Thank you Carol..pretty soon it will be bare..already much colder today..
DeleteBoth the cookies and the squash sound wonderful. Love the pumpkins lining the street by the fence.
ReplyDeleteI do too..but that one is not mine:) I was quite taken with it..we had so much rain this weekend!
DeleteThis is the perfect festive post! I must check out that squash recipe. At my recent Southern Exposure visit they served a beef stew in the acorn squash bowl and the squash was so delicious! I knew I had to try and the hot spicy pork sounds wonderful! The decorations, cookie ideas, serving is all so pretty -- I feel like I've stepped into my perfect Halloween eve!
ReplyDeleteOur tradition is chili while the trick-or-treaters arrive. Corn bread. Maybe I'll make some festive cookies for dessert!
I love chili!
DeleteAnd I really appreciated the tour I just went on at your place:)
Wonderful memories! I see many familiar Halloween scenes...Noah, Take a Bite, the rain on the pumpkins, etc. It's raining like that here today! A Cats and Dogs rain. The Oreo-style cookies look wonderful! Sadly, I don't think we'll get to see Les Boys until after Halloween but I will save the idea for Thanksgiving and use just the pumpkin stamp or perhaps some leaves. As I've said before, you are so fortunate to live so close to your Littles to share cute ideas and goodies with them :) The cookies look delicious enough to eat on their own too! I wish my J shared my love of acorn squash. Maybe the pork sausage would help coax him :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes..I almost..almost..think that even though I love our home..if our daughters moved..I would find a way:)
DeleteWe started watching :Life in pieces..Netflix..a bit Ray Romano as one family moves across the street from the parents..in~laws..being James Brolin..he has aged very well..Dianne Wiest..so has she..naturally!
Anyway it is cute and funny and you might like..
I realize the wealth we have w/ family across the street..every time I get a surprise important vist from the parents..lol..not.. I think they are moving..when I was their realtor..I knew..now out of the loop:(
The pork spicy sausage..makes it..trust me and our J's♥
We've talked about trying a trial of Netflix this winter. Right now, Amazon Prime and the regular network stations programs that we enjoy give us plenty to watch. I'm afraid our family would be heartbroken if we moved as they would miss our pool but who knows how much longer we'll be able to take care of it. You never know what the future will bring! Hope it brings happiness for us all :)
DeleteMe too..a fervent wish for us all❤️
DeleteI don't think we have investigated Amazon for that..for everything else..yes!!
Will look into it..
17 years ago..in our other home..we had a pool..so often..I wish we had one again for the Littles..perfect for youx
So many pretty pictures and so much deliciousness! I adore that picture from the mountain top, couldn't stop staring... Also love the stuffed acorn squash. I happen to have one in my fridge....
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe I found our last mini montagne hike .long...I could not wait till we got to the top..and that was 4 years ago really..:(
DeleteHave to do again..soon..maybe 2017 ..as we have had frost now..:(
Monique, Halloween is such a fun time for your family. I always enjoy you sharing your recipes and stories!! The photos of the goodies look yummy!! Wish it would rain like that here in San Diego, so jealous. Love the little fairies getting ready for Halloween too ♥
ReplyDeleteHugs, Jody
Jody:)Every day is a celebration for you in those gardens..the kids..your home..your crafts🎨
DeleteWhat lovely memories of your Halloweens. The squash recipe is one that I would like to try. Lovely photos as usual, Monique! 🎃
ReplyDeleteI hope you try it..C'est Bon!
DeleteSo many delicious sweets, and treats!
ReplyDeleteI love Autumn so much, also because Halloween is part of it! In the USA and in Canada, you seem to celebrate it properly and so well. I envy you ;)
Oh and I love the Jack costume too!
Have a delicious and spooky Halloween with your family Nana ~
You are so perfectly bilingual Camille ..no wonder you feel at home and love England..wonderful since France is your country:)
DeleteA delightful post full of wonderful photos that tell a story. Noah makes a great Jack Skellington. The Halloween cookies are fabulous. Interesting squash dish...I can imagine very tasty. Lovely goodies to enjoy, plus they are so pretty. Love the pumpkins in the rain photo.
ReplyDeleteNoah is such a little ham..that seeing him like this was quite aa feat on his part..thank you Linda.
DeleteOh wow! I am really excited about the acorn squash! That would be a perfect addition addition to a meal...or the meal for the two of us! I definitely will be making this one. Your posts are so much fun...the children do love Halloween and I must admit, I do too! I am in Seattle, again, and Sabine wants to make cookies...I am thinking the Oreo cookies would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteThey would..I noticed your absence will go peek..oh these are a meal in themselves!!:)
DeleteHow I love all these memories of yours.
ReplyDeleteNoah is just so handsome in that costume.
Love the squash..it looks so delicious.
Happy Halloween to you and yours!

DeleteWhat wonderful memories you have. Love the pumpkins with the rain. And oh boy, the skeleton boy. Lucky you.
ReplyDeleteWe have been so fortunate with our family:) Like you..and yours:)
DeleteOK, love the photo of pumpkins with the rain animation! Did you use lumier? I haven't figured how to load a video animation from there onto the blog without using youtube (which is annoying because then it links your video to other stuff) - The photo of Noah as Jack Skellington is so awesome, will never grow old xox
ReplyDeleteHi Gail!
DeleteI cannot take credit at all for those pumpkins..if you Google GIF images..thousands show up..I did not make or create that one:)
I have not figured out a video yet either..I can tell you our 15 yr old step GD..does boomerang..and there must eba way w/ Lumyer!
