Cute cookies for the Littles..thanks Chris!

Last year Frédérick and his Littles on their street from the bus..~I still love it..so I look at it a..lot..♥

outside my window:)

Down by the lake/park..

When I saw these..right away I thought of the Littles..
As usual..any recipe of Chris' turns out well..I bought my toppers at Bulk Barn..
the only thing I did differently was that I omitted the pumpkin spice..I wasn't sure Oli would like it..so just a dash of cinnamon..want to tell you something else about the cookies..while I was making them I found the batter held together well..and wondered if they could handle Starbucks..and they did..like always make sure the dough is chilled and floured as well as the stamp..then freeze or refrigerate before baking..you must press sufficiently..and do not add turbinado sugar on top..the imprint did not stay as well..
Keeper recipe..and so easy..
Love the views from our windows these days..

They are lovely with a cup of coffee or tea..pretty happy David's Tea has opened near us..I can pick up little hostess gifts for the girls and sometimes add something for me..
they have started selling their tea..in bags..just like the kind you get loose..but in pretty bags..if you don't want the mess of cleaning the steepers..this is a fun quick delicious alternative..
I am starting to learn how to tether..I only took the shots above..my cable is short and I am awkward trying to manipulate camera ,computer, focus, click..but I always find it fun to learn something new..just seems like a lot of work:)
Not sure when I will set that up again..
I spend very little time taking photos..if it's raining and cold etc..I may spend more time..and then the photos are awful:)
One of my daughters brought me to a new store..
very very nice..she had bought  a mat for her front door(they wear out quickly w/ 4 boys and 2 dogs:))and our seasons..
same here and only us..unless someone comes over..she had mentioned the one above to me and I knew it would be our new front mat/autumn/winter♥
(Artists Entrance)♥

  2. Can't believe how beautiful fall has come there. It is in the sixties today so it feels like fall, but will be hot again by Monday. Our trees aren't sure what to do yet. I bet the boys were smiling when they saw those cookies. They sure look delicious to me. Enjoy these last days of good weather. I saw it was snowing in the northern US. I love the lake picture. So beautiful there.

  3. Beautiful color from your window. Love the photo of Fred and the boys. I'd look at it often too...I see mine every day as I walk around the house, pics here and there :) Our boys are waiting for leaf piles to jump in here :) Still not enough on the ground to blow them into big mounds. I would make Chris' cookies for them when they come over. So cute! I love how the dough works for the cookie stamps too and your great tips, thanks! It was in the mid 30s when we woke this morning - OY! But back to 70F by the weekend. Wish we had David's Tea here! It must be good if you like it :)

The boys liked them they were gne right away:)
Oh the leaves are tumbling today!

Rain..wind..MTL is a zoo today ..so much construction took us forever to get there and back..
I thought you did have DT?
      Maybe not..:)

  4. Of course I went straight to the recipe. I haven't seen the candied pumpkins like you put on top -- just the ones like in the recipe that are harder, more like candy corn. I think the jellied ones would be better but both look good and I could see this in other purposes with something different atop them at different seasons.

Oh, that tree, those boys walking off. How wonderful. We're still having slow color although it's trying to pop out! It's supposed to get colder and that will probably bring it on. Meanwhile, I look out my little window here into a mass of green leaves with the sun shining through. Not a bad sight, actually!

    Happy week!

  12. Sigh. Visiting your blog is such a pleasure, a mini-vacation from city life, and your photographs simply glow! Love the cookies, and the peaceful lake & glowing trees, so beautiful and serene. Hadn't seen my littles, but last night went shopping with Isadora and her Mom, going wild for Halloween decorations at 8:30 at night -such fun! She's so careful, choosing things for her two little brothers - nothing too scary, she's so thoughtful that way. Happy October!

  18. Thanks for the recipe Monique, I'll be trying this one, they are so darn cute, (and using some of the batter to make the Starbucks stamp cookie). Did you form the balls when dough first made or chill first? I'm in the process of making Bridget's lollipop cookies but they are HUGE. These will be a better size but Katherine saw the lollipop ones on Pinterest sooo.... Your fall scence from your window is gorgeous. We are just starting to get color down here. Bon weekend,

    1. You know I thought of you !:)
I did not chill the balls..just the cookies..you know how finicky stamps can be if everything isn't just to their liking:)
You will be rerolling the dough you have left..for the stamps..adding a bit of flour..I find stamp dough has to be more substantial..firm..they are good..crispy sweet light..and yes those pumpkin cookies..you cannot help but think of all the Littles..that are getting so big..Lucas has his high school entrance exam tomorrow to the high school his parents went to..How fast did that happen?
      I hope I see the lollipops..that Bridget:)

      Delete
    2. Oh my goodness, they do grow fast! Frankie is in 8th grade now and his voice is changing! Thanks for the tips. It is actually Bridget's Popsicle cookies. She used a tombstone cookie cutter that is almost 3-4". In order to put the Popsicle stick in them they are rolled to 3/8" thick...so one cookie per child should be more than enough. I'll send you photos when I'm done.
