  2. The message is clear. I wish people would just stay home. This is getting quite scary. I am so glad we live in a small town out in the country. Do take care Monique and thank you for sharing this very important message.

  3. Mmmmmm soup! That does look like the perfect meal to me. And your cookies :) I do wish everyone would stay home. Some people just aren't heeding the order. Young people gathering on our Lake Michigan lakefront recently. Those spring breakers need to quarantine themselves but aren't. I do feel fortunate that I have a yard I can walk in and escape the house when I feel like it. I can't even imagine living in an apartment right now...and those totally alone. Thank goodness for the grocery store workers and all those who make getting needed supplies possible. And the doctors and nurses..brave souls.

  9. Dearest Monique,
How we all long for 'normal' days ahead where we can freely move about...
At least the home cooking is fun, provided we have enough fresh ingredients to work with!
Love your text cookies on the French paper doily.
Feeling sorry for a lot of companies that really suffer because of this.
    Sending you hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Feeling sorry for everyone..:(
      Companies..yes..and all the families affected.
      Courageous front line workers..caregivers.People alone..people suffering..people needing medical interventions..on hold..students..children..parents..
I don't feel sorry for irresponsible people who are not listening.
Snowbirds going out..people getting together..not respecting isolation and social distancing..

These are not even sacrifices..idiots.I truly find them to be idiots.
Take care Mariette and Pietr and family..

  10. I'm the same. Stay in. Stay Home. Stay Well. I know it's hard for people but death and illness for ones self and those they love is much harder.

I love every photo here. They were perfection. Your paintings here and the cookies and soup -- totally divine! Take care, my friend.

    1. As you know funerals are forbidden here..heartwrenching to hear how people are going about knowing what to do.So many cases were found to have as root..a recent funeral..

As for J and I we have told our children..we want nothing not even a memorial.
      Ashes to ashes.
Nothing else..not even a notice in a paper.

But for so many a funeral is a must..and many of the deaths are in old folks homes..
Numbers are climbing and it's scary.
Whoever did not believe this was going to happen..was clearly wrong.
      No one is prepared.
Truthfully I did not know the full context of the pandemic till it arrived..and hit us in the face..but certainly countries and researchers could have foreseen this.
March 1 rst Fl knew..yet so many Quebeckers were in Fl..for Spring break..to my knowledge no one was alerted..at Disney.

We have Spring Break one week early..

All the snowbirds that waited to come home..all the snowbirds going out!
      I am appalled.
      Period.
You too dear Jeanie take care..I am doing what your video said when we receive groceries from now.Thank you for that!xx

    2. I get that. I think we all thought it would be bad. Pandemics are never good. But I don't think anyone really could imagine how this has swept the world with such devastation. I'm worried about anyone traveling anywhere -- not even state to state but just from city to city. A lot of Detroiters took off for their up-north homes when this started to hit. Now it is beginning to hit the small northern Michigan towns that aren't equipped to deal with it. The volume of grief for those who lose multiple friends or family members will be so intense I don't know if we are equipped emotionally to deal with it. And to know that it may simmer down a bit -- but is due to return is simply overwhelming. I am so glad you are doing everything to stay safe. Thank you for being there and safe...

  11. Lovely I ages Monique. Staying home is the key to fighting this pandemic. I am able to self isolate but after three weeks of staying home, Jim was called upon to help with the completion of a hospital on the coast, so I came with him. Can’t imagine being separated during this craziness, but I’m feeling so nervous. Would rather be in our house in the country. The beach is off limits, as it should be, so not much to do. What a strange and frightening moment in time this is. Stay well.

  14. Somehow I thought I had commented on this. I know I have read it, probably a few times. But on my iPad and I am not able to comment using that for some strange reason! The www can be a great mystery at times! Stay home. It is a simple thing and if we all do it we can perhaps minimise the length of time that we need to do it for, and for sure we can minimise the effects of this virus on ourselves and on others. I don't think any family will emerge at the end unscathed in one way or another sadly. Thank goodness we in the Northern Hemisphere are going into Summer and we will be able to sit outside in our back gardens, balconies, windowsills and enjoy the warmth of sunshine and fresh air. With each day that passes, things will become fresher, greener, sunnier, and perhaps our moods will be likewise lifted. I always love your photos, your paintings, your cookies, your thoughts. Always. You are a spark of light my friend. Truly. Stay safe and healthy, and stay positive. xoxo
