2021

Last year this time of year..not even close this year..it's all green.

And here we are..a few days away from a brand new year.

2020 had such a promising nice ring to it..Didn't it?

And then it did not.

Every end of year..I hope for the next year..

This year leaves me feeling very different.

I am full of hope for my family and your families..

For  friends I know that are so sick.

I am sad for ..you know the drill..all the front line workers..

All the people needing medical care that cannot get it right now.

All the lonely people..

THINK about YOU waiting for an operation..but no..Covid cases come first..

Think about it..

Your mom or dad getting it..or worse..you..because obviously you're thinking of you..numero uno.

I am mad at all .. people..not respecting  the law   or common sense .

When you only think of yourself..you are not thinking about community.

Wear the masks..stop having get togethers..you know the drill..

Did you have to fly to Mexico for a holiday?

While someone was dying of Covid..

3000 of you will be flying back into here tomorrow..

I just don't know what to say anymore concerning all this.

And is everyone posting family gathering photos tone deaf?

I just stole that line from George Hahn.

Take care..and please think of others.

  1. I couldn't agree more, Monique. When I see people without masks or standing too close or yes, the family gathering photos, I think "What are you THINKING?!!!!"

I look forward to 2021 for the hope of us all getting the vaccine. I know. It's not foolproof. We'll still have to be careful. My mask collection will probably continue to grow. But I will be less afraid. Today I told the doc I didn't want a referral to the ENT doc for my ears till after I have a vaccine. He agreed. So, we'll keep plugging on. No pun intended! And one day -- maybe not too far off -- we can all be with our grands. Maybe not as close as we want, but a lot closer than we are now!

Happy New Year, my friend. Your blog has brought me great joy over the year!

  2. I heartily agree with everything you've said. It angers and saddens me to see posts about people going to DisneyWorld (US friends), or theme parks, or Mexico, or even ski resorts. What are they thinking? My husband had booked some vacation prior to Christmas and of his 10 days "off" he spent hours on all but two of them on conference calls dealing with Covid issues in care homes. So frustrating. And I miss my grands, especially the little one born on Nov 28. How I long to hold her. I'm holding out hope for 2021, but I fear there are several months of horror before we can relax.

  3. Monique, I agree. It's a simple thing. I know we are all tired of this, but everyone needs to do their part.

  6. I am with you all the way Monique. I see always the daughter of a friend of mine with her friends, out there drinking, partying, no masks, no social distancing, etc. It angers me, but what can I do. Selfish people will always be selfish people and always with us. Sure, they may not get it themselves, or if they do only a mild case, but what about the others they infect that are not so lucky. It boggles the mind. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your selfie! You are so beautiful my friend, inside and out! Happy New Year, may 2021 be a lot kinder to everyone! xoxo

    1. I think heavy fines should be given not just threats..I think pleasure travel should have been banned the sooner this is over the earlier airlines can get back on track..not just bits here and there.I would not be opposed to people having to go and work in the health care system asa fine..to see and hear and feel...As you say mind boggling.Oh lala my old pic was like 10 yrs old lol😊😊

  7. Everything you have said is so true. I am so mad that it all is continuing to go on when there is so much out there to tell us differently. A picture in our local paper this morning shows a man holding a sign saying there is no pandemic! When and how did people become so stupid, or was it always there. I'm sure it was always there but it took some jerk with orange skin to start the ball rolling, gathering moss! I would be embarrassed to tell some of the stuff that I see and hear..There is going to be such a mess to clean up and I hear that if we keep going on, even with the way the vaccine is being distributed and taken, we will be in the same spot in 10 years..Doesn't sound promising! Stay well and hope you and family had a Merry Christmas..xxoJudy

Unbelievable..And I know exactly who you are talking about....he was never respectful to anyone..
You hit the nail on the head...stupid.
My best wishes to you and yours also.
We Zoomed Christmas and one of my daughters lives on my street the other 15 minutes away.Unbelievable.It was law here..so we abided.

  8. Hugs M. We can only hope 2021 has better things to offer. As for those that are still gathering and traveling, I continue to shake my head. I even took myself off the sub list. I found out that parents were not being honest about why kids are missing school, not respecting the stay home or test instructions after traveling or close positive exposures. Parents are calling anonymously to report one another. One of my teacher friends told me of student who was out supposedly for a death in the family. But after Thanksgiving came back with a tan and denied having traveled. And said no one had died. I will not take any chances.

    Happy New Year

  10. Finally going through all the emails and blog posts I missed while we were enjoying the beautiful great white north. The only tan I had the potential to get was from the sun shining on the snow while snow shoeing - LOL. It is sad so many people are taking chances with their families needlessly with air travel, dining out, leaving the country to avoid Covid rules. It's depressing and I feel your frustration....And now delayed vaccinations. We all need some good news and hope that 2021 will be the year we can finally start to feel normal again. ♥

  11. I totally agree with you Monique! It is not much that is being asked of us for the greater good...I worry about humanity. We are doing our part but it doesn't seem to matter if everyone is not doing there part...it is exhausting. Hope 2021 will eventually lighten up... xoxo
