February~

Some sweets for Feb..since ...if you can believe it our tree is still up.We put it up early.. taking it down late..It's so dark here it's a beacon of fairy lights at night..  coming down today but those are decorations from our tree..not all is felt;)
The calendar part..the months are all thanks to Kelly at Minding My Nest.

However..these are next year's..I always make them ahead of time.
I learned yrs ago..you just don't know what can happen..

These patterns are Larissa Holland's ..if I link to her Etsy store it links to my account..just search mmmcrafts on Etsy:)

Larissa just lost her dad:(She told her followers she will not be answering mail for a bit..but that her blog has great info..and it does.

I hope to make all 12 days of Christmas..at one point in my life.

Made some madeleines again..remember..it's all about the bumps!!In France.. a bump is "le must":)These are lemon ones..I love the simplicity of them.

I made minis and normal.

I also took another Roisin Cure class..there is a link on her IG account..

This Sat was proportions..I swear the two hours fly by...I LOVE HER CLASSES.

Some Galway buskers..one is missing ..he looked like a mouse..not hers..mine.

Later in the afternoon..another instagrammer inspired me..

She has a feed ...geeparee22  Geni In Paris..and takes amazing photos in and around Paris..on her stories..she has Paris People..I LOVE that part.

She has given me permission to sketch and share..

And you know what? She said you don't even have to give me credit..

I mean..that's nice.

I would never not give credit..

Sat she posted these..had to try.

They were not together..the man was alone and the girl was on another pic w/ another girl..

I LOVE HER PEEPS.

It's been so cold here I cannot tell you..

I picked a rose ..from a stunning bouquet my daughter gave me..

it's still stunning one week later~

Covid ..covid... covid. What more can I say.

An actor was on TikTok..and I loved what he said..

To keep going..  be creative..pick up a paintbrush.. anything you can do with your hands that can distract your..mindset..

And love one another. Now is not the time for criticism.Be kind.

Take care~

  3. Lauren and Wes bought a tree for their lake home on sale after Christmas and it's still up too :) I was tempted to leave ours up but I wanted to get everything packed away. As you said, you never know what's going to happen. Flowering plants have taken their place and lots of indoor candles (Costco). We have lots of uplighting focused on trees and our outdoor garage door so those help us cope with the evenings. At least it's light until after 5:00 now...YAY! I love your sketches and calendar! What wonderful inspiration your class has been. Your new felt ornaments are beautiful. I looked at your blog and the 12 Days set is amazing. Your Madeleines are always perfectly bumped :) I would love the simple lemon flavor. I need to find my Madeleine pan! I remember when you first used your luminaire mold for flowers ♥ So pretty! Dream big little rose bush...you time will come!

  6. Lovely blog post! Have never tried madeleines....need to add them to my list. Yes, planning ahead is key! I couldn’t decide about taking down the tree; finally did....just a little later than the usual time. I really love the lights, especially in the afternoons when dark comes earlier.

  8. I love your little partridge's. I'm going to look at your link--I miss stitching and I still have some patterns for wee little baby mittens to be tree ornaments. Maybe I'll have them finished by December. We have lots of time.

My husband is 67 so he is to get the vaccine soon. There was a supply surge yesterday with many time slots open at several facilities. Try as I might on the website, I couldn't get through to the final part and submit-maybe due to the number of people vying for it. Now they are making appointments for the second vaccine. At sixty years old, I'll be the last before the general public. I've stayed housebound since mid-November to avoid all illnesses. I've been hospitalized for pneumonia several times as it brings on asthma and I need oxygen and IV meds. Not a great place to be in a pandemic.

Sending love, Monique...you are in my thoughts as we wait for the day we can all be out and about and with friends and family. In the meantime, keep up your beautiful paintings and baking!❤️

    1. Thank you for the love across the miles.. That actor said it so well..
Yes if you are compromised respiratory wise you must saty clear..and safe.
My husband will be 80 next month so hopefully he will be after the essential workers etc..
I am 67 so I will be long after.
We're not doing well vaccine wise..we do not produce it here..In hindsight big mistake.
I am thinking Jeff Bezos should have been in charge of building faciities..he gets things done lol.

I mean I am kidding and this is not funny and I am livid.

However I love my country..my province..I just hate how this is going down.
      Our cases are down though
      Take care ..:)

  10. So happy to fall into your world this cold evening! Those ornaments are stunning. I just never learned embroidery and stitching skills and I fear if I tried anything like that I'd be sorely disappionted but I love when you do them! They are art.

Speaking of -- Roisin Cure is definitely the right teacher for you. These are wonderful, so expressive. And the roses -- you are clearly loved. And the one in the ice block -- beautiful.

You and I are on the same madeleine kick these days. I'd share mine but never got photos! I made a batch Saturday (with nice big bumps -- love my recipe!) -- and lemon, too! I think they may be one of my favorites and so easy to make. Thanks for the escape into a happy world!

    1. Oh I bet your madeleines are great!
You would do so well at embroidery I just know it.
Roisin is a storyteller too so while she shows us how to paint and gives us tips ..she tells stories. Her Galway accent is just so charming. She is so very natural. And I often crack a smile.
      So many Madeleine recipes right?
      Like crêpes!
Have a good night Jeanie..take care

  12. Your luminous pictures bring some light in such a moody and cold period... I love the bouquets, the madeleines - I want one or two with a cup of steaming hot tea.... - and I love your cute lil DIY creations :)

  13. Love your artwork Monique! I have always loved it. I think I am one of your biggest fans! I know I am in great company as you have lots of them! Your work is amazing! I love how you are always learning and sharing! I should be doing more art. Perhaps when I get into my own place. I need to take some classes and then actually take them. I am bad for signing up to things and then not following through. Life just gets away from me sometimes. Your roses are beautiful. Love how you have beautifully captured one in ice. Stunning. Your madeleines are perfection as always. I will have to get a pan eventually, and then use it. Low on my list of priorities however in the scheme of things. It is almost overwhelming to think about, but I will get there! I try not to think of how much longer Covid will go on. We are relatively safe here, but it is so hard for young people who want to be out and about. Sad at a time when they should be enjoying their lives. I know many do not care or follow the rules, but for those who do, I say a huge kudos to,them! ❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️
