Over and over and over again~

My Christmas was stored this week..Bins ..but also those zippered clear cases you get sheets or things in..I keep them to store things in....the felts .. in 2..I like the see through look heavy duty  ..they look snug as bugs in rugs..glass ornaments in a beautiful big Italian theme box from Xmas tree shop 100 yrs ago..reinforced at bottom with heavy duty take..and big storage boxes..all done..Our pre-lit tree..has maybe 1 set still working:( Shame on them right?

I'd love to find the new smaller lights I have seen all over IG..a different little look.

Every yr I receive such cute ornaments and I am grateful..these were some from this yr.

I have been stitching in stitching and stitching and part of my Xmas treasure box for next yr is almost ready.

Again I recommend the Alicia Paulsen ornaments..The MMM crafts ones are gorgeous..but much more difficult.I just did 2 for next yr for my girls..only Day 3..and I don't know if I'll continue..they are costlier and more difficult.I find her explanations very well detailed but I got lost here ..near the end and winged it..pardon the pun;)

But BEAUTIFUL and many stitch through the seamlessly:)

Those muffins are wonderful..

you can find the recipe..

Here..

Seems curfew will be lifted Monday and school starts Monday.

You will need a vaxx passport to enter stores larger than 1500 sq meters.

This will entail a lot of prep by these stores.

A fine may be imposed on non vaxxers eventually to help defray hospital costs.

So everything is just over and over and over again..

Our darling grandson Lucas has made his choice of college..He picked one of the schools that recruited him for football.

If you met Lucas..you would know♥

There's a genuine charm and wonderful presence  about him.

A fine young man as they used to say.

Take care everyone.

  1. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos, love the ornaments.
It’s always a bit sad to pack up Christmas but so exciting come December to rediscover.
Best wishes to Lucas. Have a warm, lovely weekend. xo, V.

  2. Three cheers for Lucas! How exciting. And I love the ornaments you shared and your stitching. That palette is a gem! I am almost put away. Everything is down and in its bin; it's just getting the bins downstairs, packing in a few things I took down in totebags and calling it good. I'll have to do it again in part when I take down the snowpeople, but that's OK.

The muffins look good. I was going to bake today and it didn't happen. Maybe tomorrow -- it will be cold and a good day to heat up the oven!

  3. Yay for Lucas!
I love the paint palette ornament - perfect for you! Things are mostly put away here, but there's always one or two ornaments that escape. I see a little snowman on the television cabinet - perhaps he's hoping for more snow in place of the rain and grey skies we have.
Stay warm and cozy, Monique. I hope that people will behave once the restrictions are lifted. Here the PHO says that she thinks we've peaked with the Omicron cases, but hospital admissions will lag behind. I just want this to be OVER.

  5. Big congratulations for Lucas and your family. Let's face it, it takes a team to raise children well! Your felt ornaments are so beautiful. I need to start a tradition of making them, now that I have two granddaughters (we had a new baby 6 days ago, YAY!!!) Those muffins look delicious. I need more mini chocolate chips, and then I might try them. I've been cooking for my daughter's family and know they'd love those muffins. Yes, I think you'd really enjoy the LED fairy lights. I like to hang evergreen garland all over for Christmas, and those little strands of lights are amazing. So much easier to place, then there's hardly anything to them when it comes time to put them away. Mine also came with remotes that offer more choices than I'll ever use. Our weather is turning nasty cold, with snow, this weekend. Thankful for a warm home, warm clothes, good food and a new baby to hold! Hope you and your lovies have a great weekend!

    1. Oh congratulations Pam♥Two girls..:) I think if you started with one set of Alicia's patterns you would be hooked and imagine ..their collection eventually. The tree..bunny..snowflake..all very easy..The bed with little girl in it I love..You can get everything at Michaels or online..if you do decide..one thing I found w/ MMM crafts..a suggestion she makes..well more than a suggestion is to use..
      Sulky 8-1/2-Inch by 11-Inch Printable Sticky Fabri-Solvy Stabilizer, 12-Pack

You trace the decorative stitching on this ..cut and stick to felt..all your pattern is then there!!It does make stitching through more difficult so you will need a large eye pointy pointy tip embroidery needle..
Start with one set :) So reasonable..PDF.
I say you NEED the mini chips..wait till you see how perfect:)
My daughter is moving today..they are in the cards.
Ill look for those lights..like dots right?♥
      So happy for Lucasthank you.

  6. Congratulations to your grandson. My dining room table still is full of things to take to the basement. I also have started using the plastic clear cases. I wish I had saved more of them over the years. It is cold here. One day this week it was 26 below zero with the wind chill and my car wouldn't start!!! Last year I had to have it towed & get a new battery. It's okay now, haven't had time to take it to the dealer for a check up. I just need to drive it more often. But with this covid..where do I go?! Half of January is over so my mind is beginning to think of plants. Stay warm & healthy.

  8. Love the "Rip" ornament! Are you a Yellowstone fan?

  9. Monique, it's fun to see your sweet treasures. I like the idea of storing things in those zippered linen bags. I hadn't thought of using them for Christmas things. Wish I had kept some. Last set of sheets came in a linen bags. I kept them because they have a tie closure and could make cute pillows. Not that I need one more pillow!
My Christmas is organized, packed, and stored in plastic bins that I've used for decades. Here we go into another year! Congratulations to Lucas. I love the ornament of you and J and grandson. Is that Lucas?
I don't understand those who refuse to get vaccinated.

I am so fond of my tree treasures..and yogurt pots:)More than fancy things:) I guess we grow to love what's within our reach;)The safe thing to do I guess.
I think I remember your sheet purchase? Or did you link to their store once?
LOL re the pillow talk;) I hear you.
I don't either but I find they are fanatics... and quite frankly selfish...they seem to care only about themselves.
      Bon Weekend.x

  10. Bravo Lucas ! Wowie a whole new "grown-up" Lucas is set to emerge. What fun. Oh how I love your Rip ornament. Just started watching Yellowstone and I must say, sigh, his character is just yummie. Christmas tree lights....the bane of Christmas tree decoration. I remember being a newly wed some 43 years ago and getting into a big fight with my very patient darling husband. He just turned to me and said "this is supposed to fun" Shut me up ! It became a running joke

    1. Thank you Jane!
Jane you made me smile.. perhaps 20 yrs ago ..I really wanted us to have a real tree..the stress a real tree cause made me hate it.I would look at my husband and say what your husband said.I knew it would not turn into a running joke so we went artificial..Funny..he is patient with lights..that's his job..But he is ok for that.;)
He always tells me I am the most patient person he knows..he's never heard me say that.Nor think it lol.
      You made me laugh;)

  11. I've been thinking of you today. ♥ Our house seems so bare now that the Christmas tree is down. We have to take ours out the front door in order to get it into the garage where we cover it in a HUGE plastic bag so took our opportunity last Saturday when the weather was fairly mild (compared to frigid) and no snow covering the front stairs. Always sad to pack everything away. I love the ornament with the photo in it of you and Jacques after the football game!! Another mouse! I love those mouse faces. And Rip - LOL. Those muffins do look amazing! Congratulations again to Lucas. Bravo!👏🏻

  13. I think omicron has “crested” here in BC,according to the news. We’ll see soon. We are impressed with Quebec’s stand on the anti vax question .Bravo les Quebecois. It’s grey and foggy here very depressing. I bought some miniature lights this year from Canadian Tire( do you have that in QC) they are superb. I put them in my planters on the porch and I’m not taking them down ,ever! Another depressing thing happened this week, I finished watching season 4 of Yellow stone . I’m obsessed - that wedding!!! I’m rewatching every episode now from start to finish.

  14. Congrats to Lucas. It's been a true pleasure to watch this young man grow up. Your ornaments and felts are darling, and I'm glad I have a new felt hobby :-) Love the paint palette, so perfect for you. I might need to make those muffins as winter storm Izzy just just dumped a lot of snow on us. My prelit Christmas tree lights are 60% working so I had to string extra lights this year. I attend my mom's church (online) when I can, and yesterday the pastor said it is "Squirrely" out there. Hang in there, and I will too.

  15. You must be so proud of your grandson Lucas. I am sure he will be an asset to whatever college he goes to. How can he not be. He is an acorn from your tree! Love, LOVE your tree ornaments. I know what a beautiful job you always do on your felt ones. I have bought some of the more intricate patterns to do through the years, and the ones you speak of. I have not made a one as I am too lazy. Kudos to you for working through even a few. I prefer simpler ones and Alicia Paulson's are much simpler. Even the patterns that Gingermelon does. I love her patterns. simple and cute. As always your baking is immaculate. Your photos are always beautiful. I still think you could do a great coffee table book. Perhaps I am biased but I know others would agree. Stay safe and stay warm! xoxo

    1. Isn't it funny? I have no ambition..It seems I worked my work out lol for 30 yrs..I've worked really since I was 15..in stores..I stayed home while my girls were home..so 8 yrs..but gave craft classes..wallpapered homes..during that time..I often wondered what not working would be like and then boom..someone forced me to stop. Not the way I would have chosen..but it happened..I don't feel like I have anything new to share..and would hate the stress now..I really would.
My little family moved..and all the boys worked as hard as the movers.I kid you not.
      So impressed.♥
Re the patterns..It was silly of meto buy one pattern at at time of the more difficult ones..but at least now I don't feel obliged to continue lol..
Alicias are the way to go for sure..But ve done them all..wish she would make new;)Thank you for your nice words..♥
