A beautiful winter wonderland outing..

Numerous luminaries are shaped like houses.. :) So beautiful..

Little areas to sit..enjoy the fire and sip hot chocolate.

To the left all the houses..middle the lit balls hanging above our heads..to the right the circular luminaries and the photographer's tunnel

Many picnic tables so you could bring food too..

A waterfront village of luminaries..house shaped or round.. to the left and right of these huge globes..

Someone may recognize this coat:)I used to always be in beige and white..now black and white..This is J's fave coat ..RED.

I grabbed a paintbrush:)

She was kind because she had way better pics of her but let me pick:) This was the photographer's tunnel.
My hair turns to fur lol in dampness..or humidity..Check..:(

A wonderful outing.Winter wonderland.

A few weeks ago one of my daughters asked me if I would like to go with her to this Luminart expo..She went last yr and loved t..She suggested dinner at their home after..I said yes:) Last night was the night.
A tiny amount of freshly fallen snow.. freezing rain before.. helped cover up our quite unwinterlike landscape of uninteresting browns..
One of the 5 warmest Januarys in decades ..decades..
So the whole weather system made the show even more magical.
Music plays.. hot chocolate is served..
We started at her home..left the boys there.. we went because we love things like this and came home to a great meal and a board game.
I loved it all.:)

  2. Now that's a great way to spend time with your daughter! I'm like a child when it comes to loving colorful bright lights--esp in the evening. What a great idea for bringing people together to appreciate art and community. Such a sweet pic of you and your girl. Aren't we blessed to have our daughters?!! I can see you're already enjoying 2023, and hope you are blessed with a very happy and healthy new year, Monique!

  13. I just love things like this! I'm so glad M and you were able to go this year. I love date nights with my girls! ♥ So magical to be outdoors with beautiful lights aglow. You're aglow too! ♥ My hair - same in the humidity -LOL. I love your red jacket! I keep looking but haven't found one that loves me yet :) The artwork is absolutely wonderful to see and lit up, even more beautifl. I'm so glad the weather cooperated too. We've been very lucky with our late October China Lights also. Sorry I'm late again! I hadn't checked my blog emails for a few days again while I took Christmas down and packed it away. So sad to see all the lights go. We're leaving one group of trees lit in the back yard next to our storage garage for another couple of weeks while the days get longer :-)

    1. I did that yesterday..we did that yesterday..I pack my ornaments..as you know.. felts.. glass..etc and thought of you many times:)Our pre lit tree is no longer pre lit so J takes all the strands and packs those..the mantle also is done..so indoors looks like xmas never happened. It was a different one this yr..But it looks clean.I love indoor Xmas at night in the day..it's just not as lovely to me.That coat has a story..Deb (MChilds Deb) Mountain Breaths had it on and I loved it..she bought it on Amazon. That's where I bought it.Ive never bought clothes on Amazon except for winter slip on light boots I love.No regrets re coat..:)I bet you would look beautiful in a red coat.Oh I swear humidity equals fur:(It looks much better no fur..like in the Oli pic LOL.

    2. It's such a big job but I'm happy it's done too. Hard to get used to no twinkle lights in the house at first. Our tree was never prelit but I leave all the strings of lights on when we put it away. I secured them with twist ties so they stay put :) We have a huge plastic bag from the hardware store (Coverall's "Banana Bag" it's called). It fits over our entire tree and protects it while in the garage for the rest of the year. Thank you for all the info re the coat, Monique!! It looks so cute on you! ♥♥ I don't see the Oli pic.
