That's it..I've lost my sense of humour for April 1rst.

I mean it..every April Fool's joke is just too silly for me and I am gullible.

From a French Radio Station thinking they are interviewing Kiss that turned awkward and nasty..

to the Eiffel Tower having slides going down it..

I'll stay in and paint or bake..in an April Fool's safe space:)

After all it snowed yesterday and it's raining and daaark today.

I love this pottery Cuisine sign I brought back from France.. right below I have a kitchen hook with an apron hanging on it.. ..also from France from my friend Nancy..it was hers..

All the simple little things that I feel a wave of warmth when I see them.Little French plates..with a delicious Quinoa salad on top..(Don't buy Costco quinoa worst ever)..

Berets on French Littles.. love that. This Paris father and son was painted from a photo from a Substack called ..The Real Emily In Paris.
I don't get Substack..I signed up for free and what I get occasionally are feeds I never signed up for..this one is beyond me..Substacks..

Honestly..I can't believe Easter is in one week and that I can't find this painting I made..I wanted to have pages printed for wrapping paper for a wee gift..

I love Beatrix Potter:)

Loved painting this one too:)

Easter  is a religious holiday but I think its the cutest too..
I miss the Littles egg hunts..

All the baking..This year I am baking a carrot cake..the cute Nordic ware bunnies..and Angenetis a new recipe for me.
I still look back and enjoy remembering past Easters:)

Happy Easter everyone..I hope ..now that I have hibernated all winter like a mama bear..that gardening season is not too far off..

We still have mountains of snow..really ... but my garlic patch towards the garage is part bare and I see my little sprouts:)

And I still have last years garlic still fresh..Imagine:)

I should have planted tulips..these were exquiste that year. That was before every four legged creature started living here..Peter.. the squirrels..the groundgog..Alvin.. Simon..Theodore..Chip and Dale..

I wont even start on the rose chafers that found my plot too.

Kind of discouraged..visibly as I have started NOTHING indoors.

Again..Happy Easter:)

New for this year..You can find the creator  @miciammas on IG.

Footnote April second..

Have you watched Daisy Jones and the Six? Prime Video.

I had read the book..it was just ok for me.

But the series..I loved.

  1. I sometimes play an April' fool's joke on my son but just couldn't come up with a good one this year. My husband & I were taking our walk through the woods. He tripped & went down....I rushed to him & he grinned, calling April Fools. That's about the extent of our joking.

My birthday is right after Easter. I may make a lamb cake for my birthday this year. It's been quite awhile since I made one & my grandson might really like it.

  2. The little chickens with the names on them are the cutest things! They would add a lot of personality to a table. April Fool's jokes seem sillier each year and we ignore it, for the most part.
Spring brings energy after a long winter, and I hope yours returns soon. Happy Easter, Monique.

  4. Happy April and Happy Easter, Monique! Sometimes I scroll back and forth (or is it up and down) over your posts, savoring the beauty. Your beloved boys, the fabulous food, wonderful paintings and collected treasures. It really does lift my soul. Thank you for your attention and commitment to sharing the good. I love all things Beatrix Potter, too! And your painting of the child with the beret and his father--and your rabbit--just perfect. Thank you for giving me such a great start to the day!

  5. Happy Easter Monique! I loved everything in your post. I loved putting together Easter baskets & hiding eggs when my children were little. To this day Easter is still my daughter’s favorite holiday. I don’t bake but I still put together baskets with goodies for my grandsons. Upon request I have had to tone it down🤣. I also like Beatrix Potter which reminded me that I have a cup & saucer left in my house which I can still claim before the closing of the house.🐇🐣🌷

  6. Last summer’s garden experience was unusually trying for me in the center of the midwestern USA…..and I also have not started any seeds inside! A first! I did get so far as to prepare a tub of starter soil. Two weeks ago! However, the daffs are starting to bloom and the tulips seem about ready to burst their buds, so I have hope that my inspiration will ignite, and I’m sure yours will,
    too. Jeanette sclar

  7. I'm not a jokester. I feel the same about April Fools.
Your Peter and friends post brings joy. Just as my own Monique originals bring joy time and again. The petite Bonne Maman bunny sits on my kitchen tea tray! I'm grateful for the look back at all the edible treasures you've created for Easter through the years. It goes without saying you are an artist in the kitchen as well as your studio.
No snow, but spring has been slow to arrive here. Currently going through the annual oak pollen drop. Never fun, lasts for weeks if not months, so one learns to live with the green rain and the messy brown catkins that fall nonstop.
Thanks for the JOY! Happy Sunday, mon ami!

    1. We have yellow pollen..then helicopters that fall from the maples..and so on..its never ending.I thought you didn't get anything:)I mean on once occasion I had tears in my eyes over a story that was false. The time spent..the emotions..I am far too sensitive and gullible for April Fool's.It's just not funny to me at all.But we are all different. My fave for you is lost in space.I spoke to the postmistress Friday AM..she has no clue how that can happen...It's not like money was in it but my feelings were:( xoxoxox

    2. Monique, I think of the lost mail often, praying to St. Anthony that it will appear in my box having found it's way to me. I know it is full of feelings. For me too, sight unscreen. You are the dearest friend, and that is priceless!

    3. It\s because sometimes you get a feeling..get in the zone..and end up getting that good feeling inside..and that's what I had.It is hard to recreate a feeling.I am disappointed but one day it may show up:)xoxox

  8. I walked into this post and fell hopelessly in love. Oh, my! Exquisite. I adore your Peter Rabbits -- all of them -- dishes and paintings and delectable baked goods. It's all SO pretty! You really are an artist in every possible way. Beatrix P. is such an inspiration, isn't she? I'm not that big on April fool, either. That photo of the tulips is so crisp, you can see every single detail. What a gift this post is to us. Happiest of Easters to you, my friend. May it bring you the joy it brings your readers.

  9. I've been looking at past Easter's recently too. ♥♥♥ The egg hunts, special wee treats, baskets! So much love and happiness. I just got out my NordicWare bunny cakelet pan out and plan on making some to bring to L's on Saturday. They just got home safely, thankfully. Worked in the garden today! Cut down half of the clematis vines, but it started to rain so I have the other half yet to cut down tomorrow hopefully, if it isn't still raining. Saw the first crocus flowers in the garden! You know you've been painting a lot when you can't find one of your paintings - LOL. I hope it shows up, it's adorable. I love Peter and all his dishes! So sweet! The Hen Cake! ♥ Can you imagine how John feels having been born on April 1st! The butt of many an April Fool joke :(

    1. Jokes can be cute..but that radio interview.. I even left a comment..to find out the next day the heads of the station had made it all up even their poor interviewers didn't know. What a waste of my opinion..lol..Or heartwarming stories that make you shed a tear and its a prank..like why put people through that.
Those bunnies turn out(literally lol) so well.Keeper pan.Well you just gave me a nudge..I have clipped the front unsightly ones..months ago..but today I'll do the back.Tomorrow rain..but I swear at least 2 ft of snow except by the garage and in front and back where the snow from the roff comes off? at least 4 ft:(You must be so happy to have the boys back and I know you will have a great celebratory weekend..Many things to celebrate:)

  10. I just finished watching Daisy Jones and the Six last night. What a fabulous series. I also finished watching Only Murders In The Building a few days ago on Hulu. Also very good. Now I need another series to get hooked on.

I love all your photos and paintings. I hope you find the painting you want to use to make wrapping paper.

  16. I am playing catch up. I had read on my iPad but for some reason it won't let me comment. My comments disappear into the ether. I love all of your Easter photos collected through the years. You always put on such a beautiful show. Your littles and their egg hunt, and shark hats, so cute. Love all of your BP collectibles. Isn't it wonderful that such talent shared over a hundred years ago is still charming and bringing people joy today? I am with you. Love anything BP. xoxo
