I love Easter..I really do..when I was a child..I still remember a good new Spring coat..shiny shoes..and white gloves.
When our girls left home..I didn't like Easter as much..but it wasn't londg before The Little arrived and I loved it all over again..but more..I know they will outgrow things and nay not even remember..but I love making special thing that they will see.
This year my daughter is hosting a dinner and the Littles will come for a hunt first..we think..nothing set in concrete yet.
We are celebrating Jacques' birthday too..
I know I am making a Toblerone cheesecake..6 individual desserts for the Littles and G and A..
and I think a small Spring like cake encased in that white chocolate basket I made above..
and I dond't eat any of it..give me a cracker of tosttitos.
The lollipops are going in their baskets..with a few other things I am planning..
I made a lot of chocolate things Sat..
..never again fillled chocolates that you clamp..they take forever..
plastic molds like the one above..I found time consuming..not worth it..the reason I bought these was to make them..package them..but there would be secret messages in them..nope..and they take a lot of chocolate..
..give me silicone any day..
easy peasy perfectly cute.
Those little white bunnies and eggs? Pop outs!
The hard plastic I find more difficult.Like never again apart from for certain things..
I once had the cutest mold..Beatrix Potter..little medallions..lost:(
In a move.. I gather..if anyone of you has found it please return it:) It was one of my first chco deco gadgets that I fell in ♥ with.
I loved making Susan Branch's lamb cake one year..but since this is an evening event..I think it will be best an adult dessert andc ute kiddie desserts..
so here you have a peek at what has started in the kitchen..the filled eggs were not ready..:) and what has happened in the past..on a few occasions..
I like preparing for them:)
Beautiful once more...lucky LMNO, they will never forget Mon~🐣🐰💝
ReplyDeleteI don't know..I remember nothing .or very little from being a Little:)
DeleteStill it's fun and a hobby and I love to see their face now..like you do:)
So lovely, Monique! Easter and our darling Beatrix Potter just go hand in hand, don't they?

DeleteMaybe it will be like this every winter?:)
Happy you are back..looking forward to seeing your life and loves here.
I am sooo happy to be home...sound silly?
DeleteAre you kidding..? I am always elated to get home..love it there..but after 3 days in a car..home is heaven.and being near all my kids.
DeleteI hear you:) All our creature comforts♥
You get it!♥️
DeleteI love to see all those lovely Easter bunny biscuits and chocolate moulds you make , what patience you have. But it shows from all your words you love every minute of your success and failures . Who's going to enjoy the party the most I'm sure it will be you.
ReplyDeleteJacques tells me so often..:"Tu as tellement de patience"~
DeleteIt just puts me in a different place to concentrate on cute things:)
I am very patient though..I can wait in line..wait for the doctor..etc...
I guess I was born with it.
When I came home after showing homes all day..maybe 14 sometimes..and then be on the phone w/ my clients..Jacques would say that all the time too..
the thing is..I always wanted my clients to find.."the home"..:)
Thank you for your comment Barbara..you are right ..when I look at The Littles looking for eggs etc..w/ my camera..I am maybe the one having the most fun....as you know..these days are coming to an end one day..they are counted.
Everything is looking so SWEET at your house. Those cookies are amazing.
ReplyDeleteLots of sugar..:)Thanks Laurie!
DeleteI look forward to every sort of holiday because I know your photos will be stunning.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your new photos!
DeleteThanks A!
I want to be a kid at your house, it would be worth going back in time!
ReplyDeleteI know you and I would be experimenting in the kitchen and I would be spying on Scott trying to pick up photo tips:)
DeleteYour kitchen is a buzz of activity. I admire that you make such special treats for your family. It is true, the littles will grow up with sweet memories of life with their Nana. The cookies are works of art, and that lamb cake has to be one of the cutest I've ever seen. I'm sitting here scrolling up and down, all the while my heart is smiling at that cute Peter Rabbit. So excited to have one of my very own. Merci, Monique!
ReplyDeleteTwins..we have twins:) Lucky little rabbit to live with you:)
DeleteI am loving all of your Easter Preparations from this year and years gone by. You amaze me woman! I don't know how you fit it all in! Your photos and writings are a real treat for my heart. Oh, those tiny tiny cookie cutters . . . so sweet. Peter Rabbit, je't'aime. Your painted cookies. Sigh . . . chocolate lollies . . . that BEEEUUUUUTiful Basil plant on your window sil. So gorgeous and healthy looking. Again, you amaze and enthrall me. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHello:)
DeleteThat basil plant was brand spanking new! It's still doing ok..thankfully..but it doesn't usually last too long..my daughter and I are taking another chance..
Marie..I wish you would make painted cookies:) I wish!
J'aime Peter Rabbit aussi!
Tiny cookie cutters=Ebay..around $2.00 to $3.00 for all..free shipping:)

DeleteDo you know I always use your tongs?:)
And many other things:)
You have topped yourself! What a gorgeous array of goodies Monique.
ReplyDeleteYou have been a very busy bee ;))
Love especially the Potter bunnie perched on the china egg.
Utterly dreamy
Me too..what a treasure..it was at mydaughter's home and she gave it to me 2 years ago.:)
DeleteThanks Carol!
Everything looks so pretty Monique - the Easter bunnies and the molds, all so special in their own way. I loved Easter as a child and know your Littles must love it too. You make everything so special for children. Makes me want to be a kid again :)
ReplyDeleteSam
Mkakes me want to be a teacher..I think I would have loved it..grade 2 maybe:)
DeleteThanks Sam..By the way I think you have a World Market? Cute Easter things:)
Un vrai bonheur de croquer dans ces lapins sucrés ! C'est trés joli ! Bises
ReplyDeleteMerci Christine..j'en profite pendant que mes petits-enfants sont encore assez jeunes!
DeleteWhat fun Easter decorations you have, Monique! I have some cute things in a box in the garage, but won't be having any family here this year, so not worth hauling out. I will, however, put out my cute Williams Sonoma dish towel with an adorable Easter bunny on it and hang it on my oven door. That's as festive as I'll get this year.
ReplyDeleteThat lamb cake is smashing!
I am so happy you kept Easter:)
DeleteI know you will have a lovely one in your new home..
Saw a nice movie on Neflix that you might like..I'll see you in my dreams..there is one scene where 4 girlfriends go "grocery " shopping..funnny.
it's a bittersweet movie..
Oh no you are wrong Monique, they will remember, many years from now. With a little luck you will be making some for great grandchildren or at least passing on all stash to your daughters so they can be perfect grandmas like you. I wishe Easter were a little latter this year but for your family it will be fun celebrating Jacques birthday too. I made a few sugar cookie bunnies too last week when I made shamrock cookies and need to ice and decorate. Yours are all gorgeous. Royal icing or a glaze icing? I need to make my bunny chocolates from the molds I purchased. I hope I do ok with the bunny cake.
ReplyDeleteIf I kept the banner for the cake..I may not have..do you want me tpo send it to you?
DeleteI am sure everything you make is adorable:)
I wish Easter was later also..but why?
All will be well:)
I would get on my knees if I saw great grandchildren..my genes are not reliable for that..although I do know women that have had that pleasure..
yes I hope the girls use my stash:)
I won't be leaving Michael Kors and Louboutin things..but cookie cutters..
go see the ♥ mold for madeleines at Williams Sonoma,
chaching for you I bet..:)
PS .. a make a glaze type icing..runny but hardening royal icing....and dip..let dry..paint..it cannot be soft when dry..you need a painting surface:)
Delete
DeleteMe again..on the Peter Rabbit cookies.Iused a fondant..but very thin..those cookies are edible wafer paper from England..Ebay
Thank you for all your tips. I don't think the banner would fit on the bunny's back but thank you. So glad you said glaze as opposed to royal icing
DeleteDip..reverse..and let dry on a cooling rack...
Delete:)
Or fondant...instant gratification!
Do that!
I see some familiar faces :) I remember the lamb cake and those beautiful painted cookies you made. The Littles will see a photo one day and remember that Nana made that. I have so much time before our Easter celebration that I'll be able to buy Easter things on sale after the actual holiday. Cha-ching :) Everything there looks lovely and filled with sunshine - something we haven't seen a lot of in the past week. I just bought a basil plant yesterday, actually a living basil, just bare roots in a cello bag with water. Do they sell those there? The scent - oh my. I still have a Peter Rabbit bowl and cup set given as a baby gift when Lauren was born ;) Love your collection of Eastery things! xo
ReplyDeleteWe go far so far ..you will be bored with me:)
DeleteI JUST wrote chaching and had not read this:) Uncanny.
You must get cute stuff on sale..like WS and SLT..PB etc..:)
My girls had Bunnykins things..not quite the same..
I have not seen bare root..Great..Still searching for plenty seeds...early Spring this year..wonder what our gardens will do..:)or :(
Cha-ching :) I will never get bored!
DeleteMe neither of you:)
DeleteI share your frustration with chocolate molds. Silicone is the only way to go. I've always loved your sweet hand painted cookies. My mother used to make a lamb cake for us every Easter. What nice memories that brings back.
ReplyDeleteWe share the same baking frustrations..:) Always..and the same joys:)
DeleteWow, a sight for the eyes. Your Easter desserts are lovely and made with love. Your littles are going to be so happy. So much thought and artistic composition go in your loving work. Almost too pretty to eat.
ReplyDeleteYOURS TOO..
DeleteI saw your creativity and love:)
Oh, how beautiful everything you make is! I've lost or "loaned" so many things that never came back. Perpetually walking around saying " Where is ????....." Madly gearing up for another move (back), never a dull moment :)
ReplyDeleteI admire your drive and strength Katrina..can't wait to hear more about the move..me too I have lent things..and wonder...why they didn't come back..then I get used to it..
DeleteI got out of cutesie baking for yrs..it's all about The Littles..now..and my early retirement shall we say.
Thanks Katrina:)Not everything..I promise..is cute.
Your talents never cease to amaze me. Those cookies are gorgeous and the lamb cake is breathtaking! I used to love Easter too - it was such a wonderful happy celebration at our house growing up. Our children loved it too and now I have two new granddaughters on the way. We have been so busy with baby showers for both daughter and daughter-in-law - sorry to be behind in my commenting! Have a lovely week :)
ReplyDeleteI love YOUR photos Tricia..so big..so clear!
DeleteYou will have a ball again w/ Esater w/ all these Littles..
I find Easter so uplifting..
so magical all of it, you make easter look so fun and i just know your family loves you for it :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the Littles Jenni..I have a few years left:)
DeleteJust Jacques and I..it would not be the same..just peaceful..quiet..different..but yet lovely still.
You grow into things:)
Oh my goodness, I haven't done a single Easter thing!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention...the bark is at Sue's The View From Great Island)
DeleteYou would photo yours so prettily:)
I discover your blog through Christine Ô coeur de la maison, and I love it !
ReplyDeleteHugs from Paris,
Dominique
Merci beaucoup Dominique!
DeleteTo make my chocolates I always use the plastic molds, like you did. I don't know what did not work for you but it does for me. I always place the molds in the freezer for 5 minutes after I filled them with chocolate. Then it's so easy to unmold.
ReplyDeleteIt's the 3 D ones..when you attach the two pieces..I find they take so long to freeze..
Deleteyou cannot just coat those bunnies lightly and pop out..see above?
The ears break off..too deep and too many details..for me anyways..all others work..but give me silicone any day now:)
Ones that are not so deep pop out..these molds came w/ directions for 3 D..I thought..I want thin..no way ..well for me:)
WOW you are really making some beautiful desserts. The kids are going to love them.
ReplyDeleteI used to love Easter - a new outfit for church, big ham dinner with all the trimmings and I loved the Easter Egg hunt. Brought back many happy memories.
Enjoy your Easter Sunday.
Hugs,
Mary
You enjoy yours too Mary!
DeleteI used to love getting my girls all dolled up with their little purses ..oh so cute..shiny shoes..bows..dresses..they sparkled;)
The painted cookies!!!!!!! Gorgeous. I love the soft light through your kitchen window.
ReplyDeleteGoal...I am always so grateful for the light here..and on a brilliant sunny day..especially so..light's very important to me in a home..
DeletePlease paint cookies:)
Easter is such a pretty holiday! It looks like you will knock it out of the ballpark!
ReplyDeleteIt is so cute! You are right about that.
DeleteYou know how to make Easter special for the little ones. Your chocolate lollipops are adorable even if they were a pain and only a "one time" thing. Beatrix Potter has always been a favorite of mine...love Peter Rabbit.... It appears that you are going to have a lovely celebration with your family and special treats!
ReplyDeleteI must have explained myself wrong..those lolliops are so easy..It's that bigger bunny..that you pour one side..clamp..turn over.. freeze a few minutes..turn over.. and so on and so on;)..plus you have to cut the mold in two and align..LOL..give me the easy pops:)
DeleteSome of these things are from previous yrs..;)
I wish that I lived around the corner from you...everything is so beautiful that you make. Those boys must be in heaven!
ReplyDeleteBisous xoxoxo
The boys have such sweet lives w/ their parents:) But I have to say they are so dear with us..kisses..hugs..just lovelies♥Who knew boys could be such boys but so tender too?
DeleteYou:)
So beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet.
DeleteLove all your Easter goodies but especially the pretty cookies. The littles are so lucky, they have the best Nana ever.
ReplyDeleteThey have another Nana who loves them to bits too..Mamie France.I bet you are loving being closer to family:)
DeleteI love Peter Rabbit Monique !! And all yours Easter goodies look beautiful ! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Gloria:)
DeleteAll your Easter artefacts and dishes are so lovely! I absolutely love them :)
ReplyDeleteMerci!
DeleteCette année, je dois impérativement faire tes petits lapins posés sur un sablé ... J'ai loupé le coche l'an dernier.
DeleteI crown you Queen Nana! Your creativity nothing short of SPECTACULAR!! How fun it must be to go to your house for the holidays. Have a blessed Easter :)
