PS my hair looks more silver than it is..Caro's fab filter livens everything up..
Same same same same but sun sun sun for a couple of days and soon that snow will be gone....it leaves fast enough once it starts..
Still social distancing..second Easter in a row no family get togethers..
But instead of going for a frozen tundra yet lovely walk..s we were able to grab the chairs from inside bring them out for an impromptu hello♥
2 different almond topped cakes both good..one orange..the other more praliney..J likes the praline one better.I have shred it here before..so many recipes abound on the net with them..
Lots of breads..focaccias..salads..
painting..
When Oli came with his brothers he brought stickers for our cars..I got a unicorn..:)♥ and J got Minions..lol and we have to share a heart. He is so thoughtful and sensitive to others feelings..they all are.
My husband turned 80 yesterday..it was grey with promise of rain..still snow and chilly..no get togethers.
One of our girls and her husband are working from home during this pandemic and the eldest..Lucas studies one day home one day not..
So yesterday(I knew she was coming but..)At their lunchtime..they set this up on our back deck table..I mean..♥

Oh my gosh, so much time between shots! At least the first shot offers pretty good protection and is certainly better than no shot at all. I was having an eating free-for-all as I was feeling sorry for myself for while. But now I have to get serious so I can fit into my golf shorts - LOL. Question, which is your favorite stamped rolling pin recipe? :-)
DeleteI think if you look at the post about the pins that I just posted I think..it may not be my fave ..but its good and fool proof ....I have not worn shorts in decades.Your legs are amazing.me? only my anles;)

ReplyDeleteYou're so smart:) But my boys would be disappointed to get them:)And sweet you are.
DeleteWow! And I mean BIG WOW! What a wonderful surprise -- your own special birthday celebration delivered to your porch and set up. It's gorgeous. I can tell she is her mother's daughter, with such a beautiful arrangement of food! Honestly, Caro is just the best! And belated birthday wishes to Jacques. I hope he keeps celebrating as long as anyone will join in the festivities!
ReplyDeleteThe cakes look fabulous, especially the one with the praline almonds. The Tosca -- although they both look just great. I never really make cakes. I should change that! And the bread -- to die for! Your salads, exquisite. Truly, everything is so beautiful. And love the Paris people! What happiness to be here and see this!
Thank you! Jacques said no more birthdays..shhh..
DeleteI get it..I totally get it..but that celebration was jusr right..a surprise..no fanfare..excpet all the thought and trouble she went to..she works..3 boys..this was her lunch hour. She is very very thoughtful:) And loves all this..

Arrg, I thought I had commented here before, but alas I didn't. Just read! How wonderful for your daughter to do that for you! You and J, your grandsons and the stickers, you are all so very well loved. That is as it should be! That cake looks amazing. I am on the hunt for a good bread recipe at the moment. Like a French Loaf. They are sending me a bread knife. I want to showcase it as well as I can. Happy Weekend sweet friend. Stay safe and stay healthy! xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou will love the knife..I am treating them like gold..Aren't they so nice to do that?♥
