June..part 1 of many;)

 Pretty pretty~

Happening soon~

Jack-In-The-Pulpits:)

Single peonies..quite a few this year~

Poppies! Yours mine and ours~

Lnda's Yellow Hollyhocks growing here..

The kit~

Garlic..one of my greatest garden joys~

Zelda and Corrine

Don't let this pic steer you away:)

Most of us can make mini bouquets ..if we are lucky enough to have some dirt and flowers:)

I'd love huge Dutch Master bouquets, but that's not going to happen so I go w/ what's popping:)

These could be very cute as individual place setting bouquets..

So I know I prefer showing pretty food..I usually doll up everything we eat and I rarely take pics of dinner because we 're hungry on the spot.

I don't doll this up..I could..a little extra shrimp brochette on top..etc..

I have a repertoire of repeats..a binder..we all do right?

This one I keep talking about lol and both my daughters made it..One LOVED it..the other one no..

Look at my notes..it's a dish that requires you to pay attention to it:)

I started making this in 2013..Nancy was coming over.
I loved having a friend across the street..

C'est la vie people move..

Anyway she loved it too..

It's one of my fave weeknight meals..

Sheet pan glory.

You need the garlic:)You need the oil..the smoked paprika all over the place..salt ..I love smoked parika.

a few chili flakes..I'm perfectly happy to leave all the sausage to J..as you can see by my sheet pan plate.

I even repeat myself in notes to self..Season season season lol.

And keep an eye on that broiling lol..

It's one leftover I love (cold) no shrimps are left no sausage pieces..but it ends up being such a great couscous salad.

Just saying;)

PS My penmanship is much better than above..this is quick quick..

I'm starting a new little experiment..micro greens..got a kit..I'll keep you posted..found the cutes rock at the base of my mailboxes..(communal)..Think Wisely..yes..in everything;)

And wow.. she didn't even know she had them♥

Take care..I post more in this season..because I'm outdoors more..

Soul Food.♥

Max is 14 this weekend..I can't believe it.

Determination is his middle name:)♥He's focused. So focused.

All 4 are different..all 4 are some of the greatest loves of my life .

On my knees grateful that they are so tender and loving.

My wealth .

  1. My apologies. I think it's been a very long while since I thought to check your blog. I have to spend some time going through some older ones.
Happy Birthday to Max. I know how dear your not so littles are to you.
Isn't this the best season M? New surprises in the garden almost every day.

    2. I try - lol Always looking for space to fit more things in. Mal says I have plenty of empty space. It's so hot that soon the pansies will take their last breaths, then I will fill the space with something else.

    3. I bought my pansies late..I missed them so their shelf life will be short;;;

  2. The shrimp look so delicious I can hardly bear it, even just looking at the photo! And your garlic -- which reminds me, I keep forgetting to ask you -- when do you pull the garlic out of the ground? My scapes are pretty tall. I only have one that took so I don't want to pull it too soon (but I'd love to use the pot for something else, so might add it to the same -- do you think that would be OK?) Every bloom is dazzling and I love the sweet bouquets. You're right -- outdoors is soul food. I'm so glad you are celebrating a birthday this weekend. Indeed, wealthy beyond words.

  4. There is so much inspiration for photos in the garden during the summer. It seems that every day there is some new and beautiful thing. I think the shrimp recipe looks delicious! I bought a package of micro greens and some equipment, but haven't tried them yet. I think I'll wait until autumn. There are plenty of greens in the garden these days. Your lilacs are pretty, pretty, pretty.

  5. Isn't it fun making bouquets from flowers we pick from our gardens again?!I love the lemon idea. Do the flowers love it? Maybe it keeps the water fresher too. I can't believe Max is 14 already! In less than two and a half years Mack will be 14 too. Amazing. The first time I ever had shrimp paired with sausage was at Lindsay and Bob's. He made a wonderful pasta dish with the two. I never would have imagined the combination! I'll save your recipe photo with your notes! I love how you share tried and trues. ♥ Yes, the binder. Mine has become so big! Making a couple of recipes from my binder for our family swim tomorrow :) I grew pea shoots and radishes sprouts during the winter just to see something sprouting. Love using them on salads, etc. Beautiful white irises that your daughter grew but forgot. Been there, LOL!

  7. It is hard to see our grandsons growing up so quickly. My oldest two are now fifteen, my youngest just one. I long for the day when I can see them all in person. I hope Max had a lovely birthday. I love to see all of your photographs, both here and on IG. You have a beautiful eye for all things and I love the artistic perspective you put on everything, even what you think is not so pretty. I am lacking in that talent. I just click and shoot and if it works it works! haha Loving the new photos of your grandsons in the side column. Such handsome boys. I wish I had a drawer full of repeats. I just have my blue binder. I had many recipes in the UK, but sadly had to leave behind. I will just collect again! I hope you are having a beautiful weekend in your gardens. Sunny and warm here. Lucas staring drivers ed? wow! It won't be long before my two start also. why can't time stand still!! xoxo
