I love Chicken salads in summer..
This dressing was made with Hummus instead of the reg oil or mayo..
Cottage cheese makes an excellent one also all blended together.
In fact I PREFER by far the dressing made with Cottage Cheese.
I add my garlic..capers..lemon juice..worcestershire sauce..a touch of 2 % milk to thin as the cottage cheese is thick...salt..and pepper.
Those are little red beet microgreens above..
My daughter. sent me this..I was so touched by the idea concerning the restaurant..And of course the buckets..
I hope you looked at that video:)
So we finally had rain..which made the rose petals fall everywhere..some were still left..I piked some and made a jam recipe I fond on IG
Strawberry..rhubarb and rose petal jam.
It was made with that sugar specifically made for jams and jellies.
And our delicious QC berries..
A breeze.
I usually make David Leibovitz's strawberry jam or Christine Ferber's blueberry one..
I threw caution to the wind;)
A small lemon yogurt Bundt..I really like this mold I have had forever.
I also like Wilton's Bake Easy..
But it is $77.00 here..LOLOLOL.
Tomatoes are starting.I fear I planted too close for comfort.
Time will tell if they like socializing or not.
Me? Get me out of a party or a crowded room ..
But if they have something real to share..maybe they will be ok;)
July first is Canada Day here..TOMORROW!!
I cannot believe it is here.So soon...
Have a great weekend/week...
So love your photos in LARGE FORMAT on my desk top. Instagram is easy, but seeing them all here so wonderful. Oh and the added bonus of the link to that wonderful story of the restaurant and the parable of the leaky bucket. Thank you Mon xox
ReplyDeleteThank YOU.I love that story too:) So much so:)
DeleteHappy Canada Day sweet Monique 🇨🇦❤️ Adore the little bundt cake. Perfect for one. Strawberries abounding in Ontario 🍓🍓🍓. Canada is soooo beautiful in the summer.....even with ( that dreadful word) " particulates " from the forest fires. 💋❤️
ReplyDeleteI agree!!:) Happy Canada Day to you..Here's to us:)
DeleteThe video was beautiful, bringing a tear to my eye. Thanks for sharing. Would you tell me where to find the cottage cheese salad dressing recipe, please. My new living arrangement includes lunches and dinners if one chooses so I don't cook much even though I have a lovely fully equipped kitchen. I still love to read recipes. Happy Canada Day. I will have to google it to see what it is about. We have 4th of July already, Some how that always signals that half the summer is gone. Soon the stores will have fall clothes on the racks. Stay cool and very humid here, too.
ReplyDeleteWell Canada Day is more subdued than the 4th:) We 're not as celebratory.Very few flags fly outside Canadian homes..In The US..patriotism signs are everywhere. My salad dressing is not a recipe..I just put the cottage cheese..Dijon..capers..lemon juice, worcestershire sauce ,garlic,a bit of milk to loosen,s and p and give it some great whirls in the bullet. Its so good..It is to tate I do it by eye:)There are snowsuits in some Costcos here:(
DeleteYou are so funny. Socializing tomatoes. Furry hair (me too)- LOL
ReplyDeleteI loved that dementia restaurant story. I will share with Malgorzata.
Your potting shed looks so inviting!
I like the idea of cottage cheese as a base for dressing. I will try that.
Better for us than mayo:) It's really good. That story:):):
DeleteI knew I forgot something: Happy Canada Day
ReplyDeleteThanks A..we are so low key lol..surprised? Canada is in general..but we are really low key;)
DeleteYour salads look wonderful! I really enjoyed the video. Happy Canada Day!
ReplyDeleteI loved it.. :) Thank you!
DeleteHappy Canada Day. So glad you got some rain. The cake looks lovely. I did watch the video.
ReplyDeleteI love videos like that:) Feel good ones. The world is having a hard time..I love sweet notes sprinkled in it.
DeleteThe story of the restaurant and leaky bucket was so wonderful it brought a tear to my eyes too! I especially loved the narrator. His voice is so calm to listen to, and heartfelt in telling both stories. I can't believe it's Canada Day and almost July 4th! Happy Canada Day weekend to you! We have no plans this year, except for golf with friends on the 5th (which might be rained out again, if the forecast is true). I have small tomatoes already too! Yours looks like a plum tomato? I spy some yellowing leaves at the bottom of several of my plants. I keep hoping one year the leaves won't turn yellow and die. One culprit is the humidity here. Not only furry hair, LOL, but the tomatoes don't like it either. Beautiful jam and cake. Oh! I bet they'd taste delicious together! I was going to ask for the cottage cheese dressing too ;) I Googled and found one similar. I'll have to remember to add capers and worchestershire. It sounds wonderful and your Caesar looks amazing. What coating to you put on your chicken? Fried, baked? The inquisition - LOL. Your garden looks sublime!
ReplyDeleteGood morning:). We like the same things and being a gardener the second half and the blooming flowers:) You know all the faux caesar dressings made with mayo? Same ..use the one you love .It is always better fresh so I do not make too much. All in the Nutribullet. Two big tbsps of cottage cheese..then parm cheese..s and p..garlic..lemon juice..capers worcestershire sauce.I do it all by eye and loosen with 2 percent milk.My coating is corn flakes..crushed.. so seasoned flour.. egg..and these corn flakes crumbs that I season with parika..garlic powder s and p.I keep a big mason jar in the cupboard.I still use panko but often prefer this..Air Fryer.:)I love the inquisition:):): I hope you can golf the 5th.We have had thunderstorms galore.I moaned re nor rain. Not moaning now..but the humidity is pretty fierce..LOL Bon dimanche.
DeletePS San Marzano:)

DeleteHappy Canada Day! I would patronize a restaurant like this one in Japan if one were near me. Isolation is so debilitating. The story of the bucket brings a tear to my eye even though I have heard it before.
ReplyDeleteI would too as my driving distance is very limited.I live in the country..and I have no sense of direction at all:)
DeleteAbsolutely LOVED that Youtube about the restaurant!! Thanks for sharing! jeanette s.
ReplyDeleteI did too:) A tear to my eye for certain:)
DeleteLovely post, photos…the video= tears!….Happy Canada Day…thanks for sharing. xo, V.
ReplyDeleteWell I watched the video and it made my day! Brought tears to my eyes. I love hearing about those who help--and I am convinced there are many in this world (the nightly news chooses to tell us about the other stuff!).
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so lush. Beautiful. Last year my tomatoes "held hands" too, but I don't think it hurts anything. It's hard to know just how big they'll get.
Thank you for the cottage cheese salad dressing recipe. I love cc and need more calcium in my diet. Sounds good.
Happy Canada Day!
I need more calcium too:) Exactly why:) I love feel good stories too..Things going on right now are so sad.Have a beautiful day:)

ReplyDeleteMe too! Always:)But far less in winter.
DeleteA belated happy Canada Day. I’m at camp waiting for the mister to wake up :-) Always enjoy seeing what your garden and kitchen are up to. I’ll watch the video.
ReplyDeleteI hope you love it as much as I did:)Thank you.

ReplyDeleteI thought so too:) Happy 4th to you:) AND CD:)
DeleteYour photos are exceptionally beautiful and the YouTube video that you shared made my day!
ReplyDeleteMe too!!!! Thank you so much.
DeleteThe caption for this post is hilarious and I can identify! But your photos are gorgeous and obviously did not get the "frizzy" memo. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLOL..I wanted sleek straight california girl hair growing up..My wish did not come true:)Thank yu so much:)
DeleteI have furry hair too. One of the down sides to having curly hair is that humidity more often than not makes it frizzy! Loved all of your photos of the plants and the food, but most of all loved the video. What a wonderful idea. Would that there would be compassion like that to be found in more places! Hope you are having a lovely weekend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI did Noah's bday party at his house..The downside? The best days of my life were when my girls were Littles..then when my grandsons were.Although I am so happy they are all grown up and happy I miss Littles..They are all bigger than Im..and certainly don't need us like they did:(
DeleteHave a beautiful Sunday and take care and stay calm...
ReplyDeleteLove, Titti
Thank you:)
