Easters past...photo heavy...

We are not doing a big Easter celebration this year as we just did a big celebration for my husband's birthday..

I miss making the cute things.:)

I have years of cute accumulation.. lamb molds, Easter cookie cutters, cupcake toppers ,banners.. the latter all Peter Rabbit.I love Peter Rabbit.

These littles tower over me.. All of them..They are young adults ,I am grateful that I still feel so close to these gentle giants.

Below..Lucas now 18:) Is twice as tall;)That jade plant is now a literal tree  in the sunroom..same growth spurt as Lucas and the rest..

Susan Branch's lamb cake

Favorite cookies:)

 Le menu..

Now tell me Easter isn't cute? All religious beliefs apart..Easter is the cutest.

I always grew grass:)

I loved painting cookies..

Or adorning cookies with home made chocolate bunnies..

Or edible wafer paper.

My fave cupcake toppers.

We used to call Oli..Poodle:)

Little things:)

So ..Happy Easter..All of you..It is but a few days away..

I miss all this..I wonder if they will remember:)
So many of my Easter photos are lost in space..
That glitch remember?
I have them on CDs ..etc..but to go through them all would lead me down a REAL rabbit hole.
So I gathered a few still visible on my past blog posts.

  1. Lovely Easter things from the past, Monique. My husband's birthday is today and we're celebrating with a pizza party - ordered, not homemade, since I am cooking a big Easter dinner on Sunday. There will be an egg hunt for the littles. Tomorrow I'll bake paska, an Easter bread from my heritage. I'm so glad to be retired and have time and energy for these things. I know that my grands will soon be almost grown, as yours are, although probably not so tall (4 of the 5 are girls). Have a wonderful weekend.

  6. Okay okay you have got me tres intrigued ! What in earth is "Goat's mustard sauce " pray tell ? Yes it IS sad as they grow up and away from cuteness. When my son didn't want to go out for Halloween or no more Easter Egg Hunts etc. Although he took the longest time to give up on a proper tea when watching the Santa Claus parade ! The Christmas traditions mostly stick. Oh for a grandchild before I am too old....

  8. Happy Easter Monique. I loved seeing all of your Easter photos. You are so wonderfully creative and have such an artist's eye when it comes to presentation. You are a real talent there! Your cookies and bakes are all beautiful. I love anything Beatrix Potter as well. I did send a lot of Beatrix Potter stuff to my granddaughter when she was small, but have no idea if she got any of it, or if she liked it, etc. In any case I did send. Your grandsons have all grown up to be so handsome and I know nice, how could they not be! xoxo

  9. And I remember every one! Such happy memories. ♥♥ You're right, it is the cutest holiday. I have so many Anna Lee Easter figures. I'm putting them out again this year. We are celebrating the week after Easter since my Littles (one grown big like yours!) are in Florida. We will have a belated egg hunt here on April 6! Who knows, it might be the last one too. We have lots of celebrations in March and April! ♥♥♥

  10. It makes me sad just to think that many of your photos were lost, but the ones you've shared here, are amazing. I am in total awe of your paintings and your baking. And can I just say that those grandsons of yours are adorable!! I just love that picture of them when they were young and the one of you and Lucas in the kitchen. You're a hands-on grandmother...the very best kind, in my opinion. I'm trying to be that kind of grandma to my littles, too. It is my prayer that I help them to learn about what matters most. No small task!! This morning, the four-year-old and I made birds nests with little pastel eggs in them. Very simple, but my grand daughter was so doggone proud of them. Thank you for always sharing your loves with us, Monique. Have a very happy Easter!

    1. Have a very happy Easter :) I know you are hands on.I lucked out Pam they lived across the street for 16 yrs..From birth we were right here..That's an advantage IMHO for time spent with them..A stroke of genius. My best fringe benefit as a realtor:)They are only 12 minutes away now..but older.. no more impromptu knocks at the door saying we just wanted to see you.And wow that stupid covid.. I mean the last 4 yrs have been w/ distances..Covid ones and now car ride ones..And they sprouted in height and maturity..Young men now..all 4..But I treasure every memory..AS you will:) I bet you had fun:) Baking w/ Littles is a ball..an amazement :) Pure joy.

  11. Happy Easter, Monique! I have my special treasures out to enjoy for the season. Switching up my table again using a Peter Rabbit theme. Not entertaining, just having fun playing with ideas.

  12. Hi Monique, I hope your Easter was a happy one, even if it was pared down and not as "cute" as in previous years. And I have to say, you are the master of adorable Easter. Oh my! Every single photo made my heart gasp a bit more. All those darling cookies, the cupcakes, your fabulous baking. I love the Peter Rabbit most of all, of course -- your cute dishes and the goodies to match. But my favorite photo? It's the one of you and Lucas in the long ago. The expressions, the love, the joy of it all just made my heart melt all squishy! Happy April!
