White on White~

I love white♥

It goes with everything and anything..One of my first little special dish sets .. was from my daughters one Mother's Day.. about 18 years ago..and I still have it..a set of 4 ..Plain white w/ embossed fruits on the rims:)

I've continued to like white in the kitchen and in the garden:)

I also like whiter shade of pale celeriac..and celeriac salads~ Celery Root~

I thought it would go nicely with our shrimp cocktail that day~ And I could put old old dishes to use with newer little adorably sinful dishes:)

We both love shrimp cocktails..

Perfect for a light lunch for the two of us.. we have eaten it for dinner also.Sometimes a light dinner hits the spot~

Clotilde Dusoulier's
remoulade is delicious..
I could eat it on a regular basis..There are many variations of this celeriac salad..Pick the one you love~

It should please you~

My celery root salad of choice does not involve cooking the celeriac..simply grating it w/ my mom's Vintage grater~ adding lemon juice..garlic(yes a bit),mayo(she uses greek style yogurt..must be great!) mustard..and some capers sometimes~I added Dill fronds to do like she does:)~..

Aren't orchids spectacularly lovely?

  4. Monique, I so want to jump into my screen and enjoy this lunch. Boiled shrimp and celeriac root salad are two of my all time favorites. I need to place an order with my "chef". White on white is always classic and stunningly beautiful. Your little fish dishes have great charm! I always love my visits to your tables. Thank you!

  5. I always so enjoy your posts -- love the shrimp and the sauce . . . I grew up eating that but didn't know it was remoulade! We just called it shrimp sauce -- I was grown before I had the red horseradish stuff. To me the remoulade is the best -- now I'm hungry for shrimp!

  9. I always buy white dishes, so I can always mix and match. My main china is white with some flowers on the rim, so I can use anything white with it.

  12. Your white on white plates with your initial are charming. I love Clothilde's recipes! The little "devil" you screened in with cocoa is adorable. And I must say the white angel with a headache is wonderful.
My mother made a remoulade that made us swoon!

  17. Love, Love, LOVE the whites Monique! I have a thing about white. I only use white sheets and pillow cases, only white towels, and I only wear white underthings. I am not sure what that is all about, but that's me!!! Todd would love the shrimp! I am allergic, but I may treat him sometime, to kind of make up for torturing him with pasta from time to time! xxoo

  19. I absolutely adore white tableware. When I first moved into my apartment and had to get every bowl and fork, I had made the resolution to get only white tableware - for practicality. But alas, there are too many beautiful temptations out there. Now, my white cabinet is stuffed with a hotch potch of colourful pieces...

  28. I shamefully must admit that I've never tasted celeriac! You've inspired me to try it. I will pick up one this week. The remoulade sauce looks delicious - I will make that for my next shrimp cocktail for sure.

Beautiful photos, M. So serene and gorgeous!

  29. The simple purity of white has always been a favorite of mine for dishes, and in the garden, too.

The remoulade sounds wonderful and simple as well. I've never made a celeriac salad. It all looks so healthy and delicious. You are always an inspiration. Thanks!
