There are so many variations on this pie.. I have tried several and keep making different ones every year..
This one was from All recipes..and they mix the sugar and flour..sprinkle a few tbsps on the base of the pie cust and mix the rest w/ the fruit..dab w/ butter and top with crust~
The cinnamon and cardamom are my well as the cup of strawberries..

It is so true that the anticipation of the one of the most delightful things it provides~

We wait months for this..
It is always welcome~

  1. Rhubarb is something which I have always meant to work with. The latices of your pie is so pretty- if you are a pie, Monique, this would be you :)

  2. Monique, your pie photo can only be summed up in three words, De-li-cious!

And you know, ever since I converted to rheubarbarum-ism (I think I might've made that up), I now look forward to the lovely, red stalks popping out of the ground every spring.

  3. my dads favorite pie too~ i love the fresh happy feel i get here everytime you share...

  4. I don't have a garden here (just a balcony) and I miss the rhubarb beds sooo much. Your pie looks awesome and I wish I could have my garden right here...

  8. What a beautiful pie! Rhubarb has always been one of my favorites, probably because the first fruits of spring are so welcome.

  9. You're so right Monique; we do spend months waiting for nature to come to life(le reveil de la nature). I have never added strawberris to my rhubarb pie; it sure is worth trying...Love rhubarb; my post on Monday.

  10. Delicious! I never had it, but would like to try.

  25. (Lilies of the valley are my all time favorite. I used to have a yardful of them. I miss them in Florida!)

I confess, I'm a purist when it comes to rhubarb pies. I prefer not adding another fruit. This sure does look good, though, Monique!

It's been a wonderful week in the garden here and wonderful weather - finally. Wonder, beauty and glory in all of it!

  28. Rhubarb pie is something I've only had once, and that was many years ago. I was in high school and visiting an aunt. Thanks for the recipe. I'll look for rhubarb and try this. ;-)
