Friday~Le 17 Janvier 2014~

Chilling up..starting this weekend.. for the next 2 weeks~

Still lots of snow.. and it was falling softly and gently and beautifully late this afternoon as I looked out after a gloomy day weather wise..sipping some  glorious blooming tea~
I add Stevia sometimes..raw stevia~

My husband was playing street hockey w/ 3 of my grandsons and one of my son-in-laws~
I received the photo showing them out there as I was preparing dinner~
Love that pic..just from a phone..
My husband tells me I should get rid of my 10 yr old cell phone and get one that takes pics..
Now that I am not working? And have cameras?

Yesterday I picked up some tulips..
To add to the small indoor garden growing:)

I put lots in a vase..and saved2 for an old milk bottle I embellished with words I found on Pinterest..on a vase..
When I saw the vase..I knew I wanted to make one..
Thank you Pinterest:)

Rien de plus simple..
I took a vintage milk bottle..printed the lovely words on my computer..
cut out and glued..
added the 2 extra tulips and sat the vase amongst the hyacinths..that are growing:)

Salmon pies.. asparagus.. fig and walnut loaves are on the menu..
Nesting this weekend~

Finishing some stitching..some baking..
My husband is curing meats:)

Do you love the words as I do..?

And yes..Baby It's Cold Outside~

Bon Weekend~

I was reminded that inadvertently ..I  did not mention the source of my inspiration~
Truth be told..I had not clicked on the Pinterest photo..simply got too excited to make one..
My apologies..

You can find the original idea here..I have now just persued some posts..it's lovely!~
I am grateful and thank you..

  2. Oh yes, I do love the words & I love the tulips & the indoor garden & the glass with the beautiful reflections, light & growth!! Beauty for the eyes & spirit in contrast to the cold...Oh no! More snow & cold?! We've had a big thaw here & today I lingered walking on Main Street because it was sunny & springlike...
"Rien de plus simple..." I like those words too. :o) Merci, Mme. Nana for the mid-winter treat!

You day sounds lovely. Love the words, and they certainly ring true.
Your post makes me want to rush out and buy a bouquet of tulips. I think I'll do just that tomorrow.
    Enjoy a perfect weekend.

  5. Oh, my yes! "Baby, it's cold outside!" We have had no snow here (in East Tennessee), though a slight chance has been predicted several times. Today the wind was really cold! Yes, I love those words as well. The flowers bring spring indoors! Lovely!

  10. Tulips will brighten any day and what a good idea. It's even been cold in south Florida where it got to 39. I know that doesn't sound cold in the greater scheme of things, but for here it is. Not everyone has adequate heat, especially inland, where it's even colder. We're fortunate, but I feel badly for the poor people in Immokalee and also those that live over in the glades. Some don't have heat at all.

You've inspired me to buy a bunch of tulips. Have a lovely weekend Monique.

  12. It sounds like you had a lovely day, & your husband too, very impressive curing ham!
I love the words you found & stuck onto a bottle, I hope you don't mind I've copied them into my journal, & maybe I could find a butterfly image, I'm sure I have some photos I taken in a file to paint to add that little extra. It would be nice to make cards with this on.Why not try painting the bulbs in the jars that could be a challenge. let me know and show what you've painted. Enjoy your weekend.

The newer phones are wonderful....for times when you forgot your camera. The pictures and videos are really excellent. Buy a phone, Monique! A gift to yourself. :)

  14. The first touches of spring colors are so welcome this time of year. We don't have snow but the days can be so dark and gloomy. Every so often the sun pops out to keep us going. I saw primroses in the nursery yesterday and will indulge as soon as my house is put back together. Happy weekend.
